From the Europe / North America / South America tour associated with the release of the fourth album “Ghost in the Machine”, the recording of New Haven, Connecticut on January 23, 1982, was recorded in ultra-high-quality audience recording. Although this sound source was known to exist only among enthusiasts, there was no release as a boot leg until now. Furthermore, there are two sound sources for the New Haven performance, both of which have been recorded with high sound quality, but this time we are using sound sources with particularly good sound quality and long recording time. The obvious difference is that there is no omission between “Message In A Bottle” songs. The missing “So Lonely” part (3:49-4:04) is patched from another high-quality sound source. Of particular note is its sound quality. A great expansive recording. Perfect sound pressure, sufficient balance of each part, and a good sense of presence. First of all, you will be overwhelmed by the fact that you can feel the feeling of air that is so wide. The reaction of the audience is good, and the presence is further stimulated. I really want you to listen to this immersive experience that you can’t taste with line recording. The air in the listening room changes in an instant.
The album “Ghost in the Machine” is the previous work of the masterpiece “Synchronicity” and has a different tendency from the previous three albums (Sting himself plays a little saxophone etc.) -A masterpiece that has established a new police sound with deeper intelligence through pajam. The brass section was introduced for the first time in live performance, adding a punch to the new police sound. I think the fans know, but compared to other tours, Ghost in the Machine Tour has very few released sound sources, and there is almost no perfect recording with the best sound sources. In the midst of this, this release will be close to the feeling of digging up a diamond that was just buried for the fans.
The New Haven performance is the 31st performance of the Ghost in the Machine Tour (100 performances), which is about 30% of the total, but the day before (22nd) is the New York MSG The next day’s performance at New Haven was more successful, and the performance achieved by the self-confidence and extra relaxation was the best. Show off your perfect performance.
In fact, Sting is talking about MSG from the previous day at MC, wearing a New York Rangers shirt of ice hockey as a stage costume and asking the audience, “Is this a problem?” (You can check the images taken on the day of the artwork inside the package.)
The entire show has the effects of the brass section, including the songs from the album “Ghost in the Machine” as well as “When The World Is Running Down, You Make The Best Of What’s Still Around”, “The Bed’s Too Big Without You”, “ De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da ”, “Roxanne” etc. have freshness that can only be heard here, and “Spirits In The Material World”, “Hungry For You”, “Demolition Man” Stewart Copeland’s shout that sends a signal will create a thrilling performance, creating a stretch of air. Especially in “Demolition Man”, Andy Summers plays the guitar and listens to the performance full of tension and is perfect. Last but not least, “So Lonely”, which will be the last in the encore, Police will play this popular song on the tour, but it is definitely a wonderful performance that can be declared as one of the best performances. The second half of the song, Sting, celebrates New Haven City, and it is a moving moment when the audience sings and shimmers. A ghost-in-the-machine tour that discovers a new police sound that will serve as the foundation for their masterpiece “Synchronicity” and feels the energy of moving forward. Among them, the band performance, sound quality, and the spectator, the miracle document in New Haven, which has all three beats, are released on the press CD from Wardour.

★ Review summary of beatleg magazine vol.153 (April 2013 issue). For your reference.

A very good stereo audience from the promotion tour of the ambitious work “GHOST IN THE MACHINE” released in 1982 with the introduction of brass, from New Haven, Connecticut, USA on January 23, 1982 Factory Press 2CD recorded completely by recording. From this tour, the official video work “LIVE GHOST IN THE MACHINE” has been released, but it was an unbalanced mix in which Sting’s foot pedal was oddly mixed, and it was not excellent in terms of sound image. . Meanwhile, most excellent titles were not released from this tour even in the underground, and only the short set at the time of “US Festival” was released on the sound board. However, with the release of this work, the whole picture of this tour became clear, and it is possible that fans’ drinking will drop as a result of very clear and well-balanced stereo recording that accurately captured their performance There will be no doubt. This is the first time that this sound source has been converted to a CD. Since it is an audience recording, some audience noise is included, but it is less than expected and does not hinder viewing. Although the kindness of the horn arrangement has not changed, “The Bed’s Too Big Without You” with a new horn impro part has succeeded in transmitting a new appeal. In addition, the number of the album that has 6 songs set-in is a must-have horn. It is certain that this work will be the definitive edition of this tour only for tours with extremely few releases. As a sound source that proves that Polis has pioneered a new frontier in terms of live performance with studio productions, fans are the titles that need attention.

ショー全体はブラスセクションの効果によりアルバム「ゴースト・イン・ザ・マシーン」収録曲はもちろん「When The World Is Running Down, You Make The Best Of What’s Still Around」、「The Bed’s Too Big Without You」、「De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da」、「Roxanne」等ここでしか聞けない新鮮さがあり、また「Spirits In The Material World」や「Hungry For You」、「Demolition Man」では、メンバーに開始の合図を送るスチュワート・コープランドの掛け声が、一気に張りつめた空気を漂わせ、スリリングなパフォーマンスを披露します。
