First *** AHH! 1989, which was in the middle of the heyday of POISON. Introducing a super masterpiece video that allows you to experience the full show at its best.
This work was filmed at “June 2, 1989 Middletown Performance”. It is a superb view audience shot that recorded the whole story. The biggest points of this work are the gorgeous visual beauty, super active camera work, and the live performance itself. But before that, first of all, the position of the show. Let’s look back on the 1989 activity summary, which is also a memorable performance in Japan.

・ January 13-May 1: North America # 1 (76 performances)
・ May 11th-June 16th: North America # 2 (20 performances) ← ★ Coco ★
・ June 20-26: Japan (4 performances)
・ July 1-15: Oceania (9 performances)
・ September 27: Mobile performance

The above is only the schedule for 1989, but “First *** AHH! Was released in May of the previous year and became a big hit. The tour started around that time, and I had already been to North America for over a year. The final destination of the tour was Japan / Oceania, but the Middletown performance of this work was just before that. It was the 13th performance of “North America # 2”.
This work recorded at such a show is just the best. In terms of position, it is an arena seat that looks directly in front of the stage, but it has an incredibly wide field of view. At the grandly exciting venue, my fists were swung up and there were some women who were piggybacked, but for some reason it didn’t get in the way. The camera’s point of view is strangely high (are you using a tripod?), And you can pass through the front passengers far above your head and look directly at the stage.
Moreover, the camera work is extremely active, but it is super stable. No, it’s really great camera work. I’m holding down the highlights from the front, but I use a lot of zoom-in / out at a tremendous speed. If you shake the camera while zooming, it tends to be difficult to see due to blurring, but in this work, the target member is projected in a super close-up in the middle, and when it is projected to other members, it is pulled to the whole view once. Then, set the next aim in the panoramic view and rezoom at a stretch !! Pull it out and get close to it …… Repeat it over and over again.
It seems difficult to see if you write it like this, but it is not. A zoom that does not move to the left or right is similar to the feeling that the line of sight is concentrated, and once you pull it, you can (sensually) grasp the whole picture of the stage. It prevents the viewpoint from swimming with the zoom and “Where are you now?”, And because it sets the aim, each member is held down at an angle that makes each picture.
Furthermore, it’s amazing because the zoom is synchronized with the beat. For example, if Bret Michaels jumps continuously (about 5 times a second) according to the power chord, it will zoom in and out like Kei Tani’s gachoon. It is a lively video work because the photographer himself enjoys the show from the bottom of his heart and shoots with a slapstick.
What is drawn in such a super active video is a hair metal paradise that is exciting now. Of course, the set is “Poison Damage” and “First *** AHH! 』Concentration reduction. “SWALLOW THIS LIVE” is famous as a live video of the golden age, so let’s organize the set while comparing.

● Poison damage (4 songs)
・ Look What the Cat Dragged In / I Want Action / I Won’t Forget You (★) / Talk Dirty to Me
● First time *** AHH! (8 songs)
・ Good Love / Back to the Rocking Horse (★) / Fallen Angel / Look But You Can’t Touch (★) / Every Rose Has Its Thorn / Love on the Rocks / Your Mama Don’t Dance / Nothin’but a Good Time
* Note: “★” marks are songs that cannot be seen in the official video “SWALLOW THIS LIVE”.

… And it looks like this. Since the tour itself is different from “SWALLOW THIS LIVE”, the set is also different, and the axis is the new work “First *** AHH! 』. Of the 10 songs on the album, he has performed all songs except “Tear in’Down the Walls” and “Bad to Be Good”. It is exactly in the state of “moving 2nd album”.
And the performance of spinning the set is intense. At the time, it was a band that was technically ridiculed in various ways, but it was wrong in what it wanted. The fun of pop and catchy masterpieces is their essence. For example, even a normally boring drum solo has a lot of fun gimmicks, and Rikki Rockett’s phrasing makes you laugh with humor (← this is important!). It is a gorgeous show where such a one-of-a-kind “FUN” rushes in while radiating the momentum unique to live performances.

“Hair metal” is a very special culture even in the history of HR / HM and is often ridiculed. However, its thoroughly professional “FUN” was full of catharsis that no other music could taste. In this work, you can experience the heyday of the band, which can be said to be the incarnation. It is as good as a professional shot … No, it is an excellent video that you can fully enjoy the acrobatic shot that was realized because it is a one-camera audience. Enjoy this piece of the ultimate, bottomless, transcendental era to your heart’s content !!!!

Look What the Cat Dragged In/I Want Action/I Won’t Forget You(★)/Talk Dirty to Me
Good Love/Back to the Rocking Horse(★)/Fallen Angel/Look But You Can’t Touch(★)/Every Rose Has Its Thorn/Love on the Rocks/Your Mama Don’t Dance/Nothin’ but a Good Time

アルバム全10曲のうち「Tearin’ Down the Walls」「Bad to Be Good」以外の全曲を披露している。
