“January 23, 1970 Paris performance”, which is also known for the AM broadcast of the experimental song “The Man”. A complete reproduction of the legendary French LP that has handed down the broadcast sound source. A special gift release has been decided.
The French LP is “WATERS GATE”. The gold leaf artwork is also a great vintage record. This show was broadcast on the local AM radio station “EUROPA 1” and has produced many existing episodes, but it is the LP bootleg “WATERS GATE” that has made such a legendary broadcast widely known. This work is precisely digitized from the 1st press board of the highest quality.
Of course, if you’ve noticed this article, you know, this show has already been archived. The audience recording “THE MAN IN PARIS (Sigma 89)” that conveys the whole view of the show has been excavated, and the three known broadcast sound sources have also been compiled as “PARIS 23.1.1970 Original Radio Broadcast Collection”. Therefore, there is no song / performance that can only be heard in this work, it is just a collection value … I think that is not the case. You can enjoy it with the best sound of the super valuable medley “Green Is The Color / Careful With That Ax, Eugene / The Violent Sequence” and the big song “The Amazing Pudding”.

… And it looks like this. The broadcast frame is about one hour, and depending on the song, it is only an excerpt, but it was broadcast except for “Heavenly Rule” and “Sun Hymn”. Among them, “PARIS 23.1.1970 Original Radio Broadcast Collection” is a compilation of the three sources that have been handed down to date.
So, the main subject is yet to come. The three types of broadcast sound sources vary in length and quality. “Source 2” had the best sound, but only “The Man Suite” and “Mystery” were recorded. I’m sure some of you are coming to the point, but while this work has a sound comparable to “Source 2”, it only covers “Biding My Time”. It’s not the full broadcast yet because “Main Theme From” More “” is only available in the previous version, but you can enjoy a lot of parts with upgraded sounds.

The storyteller “WATERS GATE”, which has widely communicated the existence of broadcast sound sources, was also a storage for the highest peak sound. It is a treasure album that reproduces such a legendary LP from the super rare 1st press board. It’s a little maniac content, but that’s why it’s a piece that trembles in value and quality. 実験曲「The Man」のAM放送が残された事でも知られる「1970年１月23日パリ公演」。その放送音源を語り継いできた伝説のフランス盤LPを完全復刻。特別ギフト・リリース決定です。
そのフランス盤LPとは『WATERS GATE』。金箔の貼られたアートワークも素晴らしいヴィンテージ・レコードです。このショウは地元AMラジオ局「EUROPA 1」で放送され、幾多の既発を生んできたわけですが、そんな伝説放送を広く知らしめてきたのがLPブートレッグ『WATERS GATE』。本作は、その極上クオリティの1stプレス盤から精緻にデジタル化したものなのです。
もちろん、本稿に目を留められた方ならご存知と思いますが、このショウはすでにアーカイヴ済み。ショウの全景を伝えるオーディエンス録音『THE MAN IN PARIS（Sigma 89）』が発掘され、３種知られる放送音源も『PARIS 23.1.1970 Original Radio Broadcast Collection』としてコンパイルされています。そのため、本作でしか聴けない曲／演奏というものはなく、単にコレクション価値しかない……かと思いきや、そうではありません。超貴重メドレー「Green Is The Colour／Careful With That Axe, Eugene／The Violent Sequence」や大曲「The Amazing Pudding（原子心母）」のベスト・サウンドで楽しめるのです。
この意味を説明するには、AM放送や音源の内容を把握することが欠かせない。ここで当日のセットをご紹介しておきましょう。

……と、このようになっています。放送枠は約１時間で曲によっては抜粋でしかないのですが、「天の支配」と「太陽讃歌」以外は放送されたわけです。そのうち、現在まで伝えられている３種のソースをまとめたのが『PARIS 23.1.1970 Original Radio Broadcast Collection』だったわけです。
で、本題はこれから。３種の放送音源は長さとクオリティがまちまち。そのうち最も音が良かったのが「Source 2」なのですが、収録内容は「The Man組曲」「神秘」だけだったのです。そろそろピンと来られている方もいらっしゃると思いますが、本作は「Source 2」にも匹敵するサウンドでありつつ、被っているのが「Biding My Time」だけ。まだ「Main Theme From “More”」が従来版しかないために放送全編とはいきませんが、かなりのパートをアップグレード・サウンドで楽しめるのです。

放送音源の存在を広く伝えてきた語り部『WATERS GATE』は、最高峰サウンドの保存庫でもありました。そんな伝説LPを激レア1stプレス盤から復刻した秘宝アルバムです。ややマニアックな内容ではありますが、だからこそ貴重度とクオリティに震えが起きる１枚。どうぞ、この機会にじっくりと噛みしめてください。
