Wall demo take that attracted the attention of Floyd fans suddenly appeared suddenly with the title of “Ayanami label” WALL IN PROGRESS 1978 – 1979 “, it became high sound quality renewal sound by the latest remaster, and came back around 2001!
About ten years after the sound source from Angra Side appeared, since the demo sound source was included in the official box released in 2012, it seemed that past spill sound sources were useless, but in reality it was not so. Comparing past titles and official boxes, about 40% of the total contains parts with different edits and takes, and the demonstration of the outgoing sound source version is still worthwhile. Therefore, this time it was decided to release the final decision board which renewed the whole using the latest remaster sound source based on the outflow sound source version which was missing from the official box.

Roger Waters will enter his home studio within one month after the end of the 1977 In The Flesh tour where the famous spitting event occurred and will start making the first demo. A 90 minute rough home demo was completed in July 1978, and we gave the band members the title of “Bricks In The Wall”. Then Bob Ezring and James Gazley joined the production and interviewed the studio session intermittently at the Britannia Row Studio in London from September 1978 and produced a band version demonstration on January 9, 1979. The band works intermittently from February at Britannia Row Studio and will make a second demo on March 23, 1979. Between April and July in the same year, he moved to France and recorded at Miravell Studio and Super Bear Studio, Bob Ezrin and James Ghazley returned to Britannia Row Studio and the third time on August 11 to 12 Complete the demonstration sound source.
In the official box, these demo sound sources are divided in 5 pieces and recorded in a shredded but, as for the demonstration take of the outflow sound source version recorded in this board, “The Trial” is the second demo piano Although it is a version or “Nobody Home” is not included yet, “Run Like Hell” is an instrument version of the same take as the finished version, etc. In the research among fans, during the production of the third demonstration sound source It is a rough cut version of. I think this rough cut was used as a snapshot-like thing to grasp how bands and producers (Bob Ezrin and James Gazley) added songs, stories and arrangements during the recording process I will. For that reason, although the linkage of the songs is very rough, the official box is a content that can firmly enjoy the state of interim work including the part where the whole picture could not be seen.

When picking up the difference from the official box easily, firstly “Goodbye Blue Sky” had no second lyrics, so in the editing which repeats No. 1 twice, “Young Lust” is a discotic style instrument of completely different take, ” “Vera” is partly cut and short, “Is There Anybody Out There?” Includes unpublished parts 3 and 4, “Comfortably Numb” includes Roger’s vocal close to release take, “The Show Must Go On “At the beginning footsteps of the footsteps enter and also Roger’s acoustic part is inserted in the middle,” Run Like Hell “is a complete instrumental before vocals enter,” Waiting For The Worms “is the plane’s SE entering the end” Stop ” “The Trial” is a piano-only arrangement, and the final “Outside The Wall” also has echo processing different from the official box.

Although the gap occurred between songs at the beginning of 2001, the sound source used this time is the gapless one circulating between collectors afterwards. Also, with all past titles the pitch was earlier, but of course the main board has been correctly fixed (The show Must Go On was 4% faster). In addition, although there was a cut in the beginning of “Is There Anybody Out There ?, Part 1” and the ending part of “The Show Must Go On”, it was missing in the course of tape dubbing during circulation between collectors It is judged that it was closed, and it was recorded in the original board without the original cut state.
And on Disk 2, we recorded versions of the songs from “Is There Anybody Out There ?, Part 1” to “Hey You” as extra discs back to their original positions. This is the first attempt that has not been done even among deep fans. When listening to the demo of “Hey You” there are a lot of fans who wondered that a little fragment of “Is There Anybody Out There?” Sounds intro. That mystery finally resolves on extra disc! We restored the original figure before being edited roughly.
Those who have not heard of this demo version yet, those who have past titles will definitely recommend this last renewed permanent preservation final decision board!

Also included as 2 CDR “The Wall Film Soundtrack: Fan Edit” as a limited bonus. Fans edited as a soundtrack of the movie, the mix difference not yet released on the official CD, “What Shall We We Now?” Of the studio take, “Mother” of the take difference “Bring The Boys Back Home” “Outside The Wall” It is content that you can enjoy plenty!

2001年頃、Ayanamiレーベルの「WALL IN PROGRESS 1978-1979」などのタイトルで突如登場してフロイドファンの注目を集めたウォールのデモテイクが、最新リマスターによる高音質リニューアルサウンドになって帰ってきました！
アングラサイドからの音源が登場してからおよそ10年後、2012年発売の公式ボックスにデモ音源が含まれたため、過去の流出音源はお役御免かと思われましたが、実はそうではありませんでした。過去タイトルと公式ボックスを比較すると全体の40%ほどが編集・テイクの違うパートを含んでおり、流出音源バージョンのデモもまだまだ価値があるのです。そこで今回は公式ボックスから収録漏れしてしまった流出音源バージョンをベースに最新リマスター音源を使用して全体をリニューアルした最終決定盤をリリースする運びとなりました。

ロジャー・ウォーターズは有名な唾吐き事件の起きた1977年In The Fleshツアーの終了後、1ヶ月以内に自身のホームスタジオへ入り最初のデモを制作開始します。90分のラフなホームデモは1978年7月に出来上がり、「Bricks In The Wall」のタイトルを付けバンドメンバーに聴かせました。その後ボブ・エズリンとジェームズ・ガズリーが制作に参加しスタジオセッションを1978年9月からロンドンのブリタニア・ロウ・スタジオで断続的に行い、1979年1月9日にバンドバージョンのデモを制作しました。バンドはブリタニア・ロウ・スタジオで2月以降も断続的に作業を行い、1979年3月23日に2回目のデモを作ります。さらに同年4月〜7月はフランスに移りミラヴェル・スタジオとスーパー・ベア・スタジオで録音を行い、ボブ・エズリンとジェームズ・ガズリーがブリタニア・ロウ・スタジオに戻り8月11〜12日に3回目のデモ音源を完成させます。
公式ボックスではこれらのデモ音源を5つに分けて細切れに収録しているのですが、本盤に収録されている流出音源バージョンのデモテイクはというと、「The Trial」が2つめのデモのピアノバージョンであったり「Nobody Home」はまだ含まれていないものの「Run Like Hell」は完成版と同一テイクのインスト版であるといった点などから、ファンの間の研究では3つめのデモ音源の製作途中のラフカット版とされています。このラフカットはバンドとプロデューサー(ボブ・エズリンとジェームズ・ガズリー)が録音の過程でどのように曲、ストーリー、アレンジが加わったかを把握するためのスナップショット的なものとして使われたものではないかと思われます。そのため曲のつなぎは非常にラフな状態であるものの、公式ボックスでは全体像が見えてこなかった部分も含め中間作業の様子をしっかりと楽しむことができる内容となっているわけです。

公式ボックスとの違いを簡単にピックアップしますと、まず「Goodbye Blue Sky」は2番目の歌詞が無かったため１番を２回繰り返す編集に、「Young Lust」は完全別テイクのディスコ風インスト、「Vera」は一部カットされ短く、「Is There Anybody Out There?」は未発表のパート3と4が含まれ、「Comfortably Numb」はリリーステイクに近いロジャーのボーカルが入り、「The Show Must Go On」は冒頭に足音のSEが入り中間にロジャーのアコースティックパートも挿入、「Run Like Hell」はボーカルが入る前の完全インストテイク、「Waiting For The Worms」は最後に飛行機のSEが入り「Stop」「The Trial」はピアノのみのアレンジ、最後の「Outside The Wall」もエコーの処理が公式ボックスと異なります。

2001年初登場時には曲間にギャップが発生してしまっていましたが、今回使用した音源はその後にコレクター間に流通したギャップレスのもの。またすべての過去タイトルではピッチが早くなっていましたが、もちろん本盤ではきっちり直っています(The Show Must Go Onでは4%も早くなっていました)。また、既発タイトルでは「Is There Anybody Out There?, Part 1」の冒頭や「The Show Must Go On」のエンディング部分でカットがありましたが、コレクター間流通時のテープダビングの過程で欠落してしまったものと判断し、本盤では元のカットなし状態での収録となっています。
そしてディスク2には、エクストラ・ディスクとして「Is There Anybody Out There?, Part 1」から「Hey You」までの曲順を本来の位置へ戻したバージョンを収録しています。これはディープなファンの間でも行われていない初の試み。「Hey You」のデモを聴いた時にイントロで「Is There Anybody Out There?」の断片が僅かに聞こえることに不思議に思ったファンも多いのではないでしょうか。その謎もエクストラ・ディスクではついに解消！ラフに編集される前の本来の姿を復元いたしました。
まだこちらのデモバージョンを聞いたことがない方、過去タイトルをお持ちの方も是非こちらのリニューアルされた永久保存の最終決定盤をオススメいたします！
