A live performance of “Alan’s Psychedelic Breakfast” that lasts about 30 minutes in rock history. A major upgrade of the miracle recording that allows you to experience the legendary scene. The new excavation master of the century is now available on the Permanent Preservation Press 2CD.
[A major evolution of the famous recording that has handed down the legendary night] “Alan’s psychedelic breakfast,” which was the final song of the masterpiece “Atom Heart Mother,” which showed the path of progressive rock under the sky, and was also the incarnation of the experimental spirit. It was a musique concrète work that didn’t go well with rock concerts, but it was actually performed on stage. It used to be said to be “only once”, but current research shows that four of the six performances of the British Mini Tour at the end of 1970 (December 18 Birmingham / 20th Bristol / 21st Manchester / 22). Demonstrated at Japan Sheffield). And on the final day, “December 22, 1970 Sheffield Performance”, a clear audience recording was left, and the historic performance has been handed down to the present day. This work is also a legendary recording. However, it is a new excavation 1st Gene Master with a completely different dimension from the past. The show itself is a legend, but this recording itself was also a legend. Known as a famous recording from the analog era, it is recorded on the bootleg LP in song units. After that, even in the CD era, masterpieces such as “A PSYCHEDELIC NIGHT Part1 / 2” of the Triangle label, “ALAN’S PSYCHEDELIC MASTER TAPE” and “RISE & SHINE” are born every time they are upgraded. A few years ago, the low gene master’s definitive board “SHEFFIELD 1970” was very popular in our shop. This work is also a new page in the history of upgrades, which is the fate of the decisive sound source, but the degree of ups this time is a little amazing. First and foremost. In the past, the master was destined to lack “Watch out for Eugene, Ax”, but this work also includes an intro (about 1 minute) including the MC of the song introduction. You can enjoy it unscathed (although some of the other “Sun Hymns” are still missing).
The length of about 1 minute is just proof of the new master. Even bigger is the sound quality that goes through the whole story. Hiss noise, which has a particularly strong impact, is far less than the conventional version. In the past, I searched for the playing sound while it was ringing from beginning to end, and while I was immersed in it, I felt that the noise became less noticeable, but in this work, hiss is not noticeable from the beginning. Strictly speaking, this work also has some hiss, but compared to the conventional version, it is almost “not”. Moreover, the point of this work is “Alan’s psychedelic breakfast”, so this is big. The sounds of baking bacon and eggs and making coffee depict the world, and the audience’s reaction to on-stage performances and tweets is also important. Most of the performances are calm, so the effect of each sound coming out of “silence” is enormous.
And the performance sound itself that emerges has also been dramatically upgraded. By eliminating (almost) dubbing marks, the outline emerges vividly and the sound is overwhelmingly natural. You can feel the presence of the instrument itself, and it is three-dimensional until one sound rises, draws a mountain, and returns to silence. Thanks to its vividness, you can even feel the sense of space (despite the monaural sound). For example, even with the surround effect in which the sound flies to the left and right, the direction of “from right to left” is not known, but the feeling of movement is clear. [Legendary night in rock history, not just Alain] The legendary night drawn with such a deep sound is hard to describe. You can only experience the unrivaled expressiveness of “Alan’s Psychedelic Breakfast” at the beginning, but the regular style stage that continues from there is also wonderful. “Embrio” and “Fat Old Sun” are performances that are at the height of maturity, and the complete version “Eugene, watch out for the ax” is also devilish. And next to “Alan”, the trouble of “mystery” symbolizes the legendary night. It’s a spectacular 25-minute performance, but at the 18-minute level when the song was lively, the power suddenly turned off and only the live sound of the drums was heard. The part where the show is interrupted is also recorded intermittently for about 2 minutes, but the mood at that time is really real. The audience applauded normally, perhaps because they thought it was an intentional production, and laughter occurred at the venue, which was difficult to resume. It’s natural to see the show-up stage professionally, and if the planned harmonious production collapses, you’ll know immediately … A feeling of “1970” that is completely different from the present day. You can experience the scent of the times when rock was “I don’t know what will happen”.
The last such legend is the super-large song “Atom Heart Mother”. John Ordis, who was also important in the album, is the conductor, and brass and chorus corps also participate. Speaking of the magnificent and progressive performance! Even if it becomes a large ensemble that is the exact opposite of “Alan”, the outline of the performance sound is extremely beautiful, and even if the melody and beats overlap, they will not mix. No, because it’s a big family, the power of the fiercely on core without a sense of distance is tremendous, and it is a marvelous sound that you can get drunk with the subtle and clear details.
Until now, it was necessary to have the makurakotoba of “for 1970”, and it was a famous recording that explained to me “because I can listen to the legendary Alan”. However, there is no doubt that this 1st Gene Master will be called a “masterpiece” even if it is a modern recording. It has evolved into a timeless quality. Trying to overcome the challenges of 50 years of sound like this. No, the original sound was so great in the first place. A marvelous new excavation master who is in awe of the historical spectacle of recording history and even the depth of its potential. Please experience deeply and deeply until your soul is unraveled with Permanent Preservation Press 2CD.
★ The best audience recording of “December 22, 1970 Sheffield performance” where “Alan’s psychedelic breakfast” was performed. It is a famous recording from long ago, but this work is a new excavation 1st Gene Master with a different dimension. Not only is “Eugene, watch out for the ax”, which was previously lacking, completely recorded, but the sound itself has been overwhelmingly upgraded. The strong hiss noise clears up quickly, and the performance sound itself has a vivid outline and the sound is overwhelmingly natural. You can experience not only “Alan” but also “Mystery”, which causes power outage troubles, and “Atom Heart Mother”, a super-large song in which brass and chorus participate.
