“A MOMENTARY LAPSE OF REASON Tour” where the new PINK FLOYD has begun to move. Introducing an exquisite live album where you can experience the early stages on-site.
It was “October 5, 1987 New York performance” that was imbued with such a work. This is an audience recording recorded at Madison Square Garden (hereinafter MSG) for the first time in 10 years since “IN THE FLESH Tour”. Speaking of “A MOMENTARY LAPSE OF REASON Tour”, it not only made “Floyd without Roger Waters” known all over the world, but it was also the biggest world tour in Floyd’s history with about 200 performances in two years. First of all, let’s look back on the steps and confirm the position of the show.

● 1987
<< September 7 “Depression” released >>
・ September 9th-December 10th: North America # 1 (60 performances) ← ★ Coco ★
● 1988
・ January 22nd-March 11th: Oceania / Japan (31 performances)
・ April 15-June 4: North America # 2 (27 performances)
・ June 10-August 8: Europe # 1 (30 performances)
・ August 12-23: North America # 3 (10 performances) ← * Official
“November 22,” Hikari: PERFECT LIVE! “Released”
● 1989
・ May 13-July 18: Europe # 2 (40 performances)

This is PINK FLOYD from 1987 to 1989. The MSG performance of this work is also in the early stages. The 17th performance of “North America # 1”, which is about one month from the start of the tour. It was a concert when the world was confused by “Floyd without Roger” and was excited about the spectacle show of the century. In addition, Floyd’s MSG performances were only in 1977 (4 performances) and 1987 (3 performances), and this work was also the first day of three consecutive performances.
This work recorded at such a show is truly exquisite. At the beginning, Taper himself is a new excavation master who mutters “Pink Floyd”, but this is so wonderful that it can not be thought of as MSG. In fact, although MSG is a traditional venue, it is by no means blessed with acoustics. Not only is it capable of accommodating 20,000 people, but it is also known as a venue for recording people to cry because of the echoes. It is true that this work also sucks in a thick sound, but the core that penetrates the center of it is extremely thick, and the details are transmitted firmly along with it. I can’t expect a feeling of close contact, but that doesn’t mean I can feel it in the distance. The thick sound gives the performance dynamism and spectacle, it is powerful but not afraid, and there is no mysterious state enthusiasm. You can just immerse your whole body in a neat sound space.
The dynamic aesthetic sound is drawn by the full show of “A MOMENTARY LAPSE OF REASON Tour”, which can be said to be the live performance version of “Depression”. It is different from the official live work “Hikari: PERFECT LIVE!”, So let’s organize it while comparing it here.

● Part 1 (DISC 1:11 songs)
・ Flame: Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts I-V)
・ Depression: Signs of Life (★) / Learning to Fly / Yet Another Movie / Round and Around / A New Machine (Part 1) (★) / Terminal Frost (★) / A New Machine (Part 2) (★) / Sorrow / The Dogs of War / On the Turning Away
● Part 2 (DISC 2: 9 songs)
・ Nosy: One of These Days
・ Madness: Time / On the Run (★) / Us and Them / Money
・ Flame: Wish You Were Here / Welcome to the Machine (★)
・ The Wall: Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2) / Comfortably Numb
● Angkor (DISC 2: 2 songs)
・ Depression: One Slip (★)
・ The Wall: Run Like Hell
* Note: “★” marks are songs that cannot be heard on the official board “Hikari: PERFECT LIVE!”.

… And it looks like this. The composition of the first part is “depression” and the second part is classics is familiar, but the repertoire that was omitted in the official edition is also scattered there. As a result, it is more than 30 minutes longer than “Hikari: PERFECT LIVE!”, And you can enjoy playing all the songs of “Depression” together with the encore “One Slip”. Also, don’t forget “Welcome to the Machine”. I didn’t play it in “THE DIVISION BELL Tour”, so I couldn’t listen to it in “P.U.L.S.E”, but it’s also a delicious song that I couldn’t listen to in “Hikari: PERFECT LIVE!” Or the video work “DELICATE SOUND OF THUNDER”.
The new PINK FLOYD revived in the absence of Roger and became even more huge. It is a live album where you can enjoy the full show that the giant has just appeared. A new masterpiece where you can experience the spectacle show of the famous world in rock history at MSG. Please enjoy it carefully.

新生PINK FLOYDが動き出した“A MOMENTARY LAPSE OF REASON Tour”。

Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts I-V)
Signs of Life(★)/Learning to Fly/Yet Another Movie/Round and Around/A New Machine (Part 1)(★)/Terminal Frost(★)/A New Machine (Part 2)(★)/Sorrow/The Dogs of War/On the Turning Away
One of These Days
Time/On the Run(★)/Us and Them/Money
Wish You Were Here/Welcome to the Machine(★)
Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2)/Comfortably Numb
One Slip(★)
Run Like Hell

また忘れてはならないのは「Welcome to the Machine」。
