Finally appeared as a press board from the Sigma label !!!
Pink Floyd In 1971, the famous Roman performance is polished by a new source, and it will descend with a three-piece set (!!) of angry waves including the first appearance scene !!!

The sound source has been known for a long time, and even if it is converted to a CD, the price will rise when it is sold out and used in the secondhand market, and even the message sent to our shop says, “When is it all pressed by Sigma?” It was a representative of the sound source that was constantly inquired. That is Sigma’s latest work, a performance in Rome, Italy on June 20, 1971.

As you know, the sound source of this day was known as a two-disc analog bootleg LP “ ROME 20-6-1971 ” that appeared on the Queen Records label in the early 1980s, and its sound and performance were remembered I think that many people are imprinted deeply. For CDs, including “LIVE IN ROME (A.2155)”, which appeared in a tall-sized double door box case specification in 1994, and a bonus for the original recording source and LP disc in March 2006. Attached
“ROME 1971 (Windmill-011)” appeared on the Windmill label, gained popularity despite being a CDR title, and eventually became out of print. However, because the voice of the reprint was unbearable, “ THE RETURN OF THE SONS OF NOTHING (Gift CDR) ” appeared as a gift title in November 2015, and the Windmill board was only once in 2018 with a price revision. Even though it was reprinted, the era has been in the 21st century without being converted to a soundtrack from anywhere until now.

This is finally the first press release from Sigma this time, but the reason why it was not known to have been a press release until now, though it was this well-known sound source, is that this recording had difficulties in terms of sound above all Nothing else. If you write down the features of these already released titles just in case, I think that there were the following features.

“ ROME 20-6-1971 ” (2-disc LP / Queen Records)

Although it has a slight roughness, it features a sharp sound with a clear feeling in the high range. The only drawback is that the left channel is a bit closed. This does not mean that there is no sound, but for this reason it gives the impression that the sound is jammed, and makes the sound range narrow, cramped, and flat. 4 songs have not been recorded since the middle of the show due to the recording time of the LP.

“ ROME 1971 ” (2 disc CDR / Windmill-011 etc.)

Omoto is the same recording as 2LP “ROME 20-6-1971”, but it is a source for the same sound source branched from there. One theory is that there is a rumor that 4th Gen, but there is a sense of expansion of the range than “ROME 20-6-1971”, the phase is fixed at the center and there is no blurring, and the “ROME 20-6-1971″ includes an LP version It features many songs and scenes that have been cut due to time constraints. Basically, it is a good sound with a clear and rounded sound, but there is a lot of hiss, and if it suddenly suddenly becomes sharp, it may return to a rounded sound again, causing partial deterioration. There are some places as well. In addition, in the singing part of “ Fat old Sun ” and others, it is recorded with a degraded sound from “ ROME 20-6-1971 ”, and the announcement scene in the hall before the performance introducing the band has been cut completely, etc. It also has aspects that cannot be said to surpass all of ROME 20-6-1971.

…, and because of these features, the press was not put on press.

But for the last few years, nothing has been done about this sound source. In 2015, low-gene sources, which had the same sound source but greatly surpassed the sound quality of these pre-released boards, came to the forefront. Sigma further refined this is the source used in this work, but the brilliant realization of this label’s brilliant engineer after a very long time and effort is the impression of Rome in 71 Redesigned to deliver a sound source that is better than any sound we’ve ever heard as a raw source.

Please note that this work is a three-disc set as a result. All LPs and issued titles so far were all contained on two discs, but why this time is a three-disc set? This is because none of the past pronunciation sources have been properly adjusted for pitch. Actually, all of these original sound sources have the troublesome aspect that the pitch gradually and irregularly increases after the middle of the show “ The Embryo ”, and this time almost every bar at a normal pitch It was strictly corrected to sound. As a result, the whole sound has regained its original shape = Total time has increased, but this 2015 source includes another scene (!!!) that appeared for the first time in history, so this amount is also added As a result, it turned out that recording all scenes with the correct pitch and length would never fit on two discs. Therefore, it is the first three-piece Rome in 1971 in the history of the sound source, and how much the content is different from that of the previously released disc that was housed in a two-disc set without such a thing, this number of discs I wonder if you can understand from.

The power and sound quality of the 2015 source that has regained its original appearance and potential is just shocking. On the Windmill-011 board, the Italian announcement in the venue that tells the start that was cut has been perfectly recorded, and the tough and vivid tone of “ Atom Heart Mother ” coming up is a performance image of this day familiar to you Should definitely be repainted from the beginning. The extended and entangled guitar melody has higher resolution than any of the previously released boards, and the guide vocal section that develops after that has the three-dimensional depth and clarity that each previously released board lacked ( * You will be quite surprised at this difference !!). The lack of a hiss sound is also a decisive difference from the Windmill-011 board, but the expansion of the midrange and the hips are overwhelmingly excellent sources, so the dynamic sound change of quiet parts and loud parts is It’s out very well. Of course, the round check that lasts for about 3 minutes after the end of the performance is also completely uncut with a highly transparent sound image (* The same scene in “ROME 20-6-1971” has a cut, and the windmill-011 version has a hiss sound throughout. Is noticeable).

“Careful With That Axe, Eugene” focuses on phase accuracy. Although it is clear when you listen and compare, in both of the already released boards, the sound image is closer to the left side, and the right channel is slightly off. However, with this new source, the sound is centered and the output of the right channel is normal, and the mysterious horror drifts with a glossy and clear sound, so you can experience the sound image of goose bumps. In addition, the sound check of about two and a half minutes that enters after the end of the song is also completely uncut, and of course this also appears with the best sound ever. In “Fat Old Sun”, you can hear the difference from the already released version in the middle guitar solo. Here you can see that the Windmill-011 board was quite deep and cloudy, and in ROME 20-6-1971, it was noticed that the swaying sound made it harder to hear. By the way, in this source, there is a temporary loss of sound at 9:19, and in order to compensate for this, rewind near 9:06 and the subsequent development is recorded. In this part, “ROME 20-6-1971” skillfully connects at 9: 15-16, and in the source using Windmill-011 board, you can check the connection at 9:38 into the organ solo, so from the source of Omoto The cut may have occurred due to the difference in the remaining amount of tape used when copying. There is no sound loss due to this in this source, but the duplication section (= about 15 seconds) when rewinding and restarting copying is not intentionally edited, leaving the unprocessed appearance of the new source as it is.

The announcement at the beginning of Disc 2 was, of course, before the start of Part 2 of the show, but this was recorded as part of the last track of Disc 1 (= Show Part 1) on Windmill-011. This time, it is recorded by dividing the disk and placing it in the correct position. What I want to pay attention to in “The Return Of The Son Of Nothing” is the sound image of the middle stage that starts at 6:04. The sound and luster, power and clarity of the guitar and organ leading the song pop out with unexperienced sound power, and the good reverberation that was hard to grasp on the already released board is also attractive, so between the sound and the sound In this way, the changing sound can be received in a more reliable form. In “Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun”, as with the Windmill-011 board source, a completely different sound is heard from the right channel in the introduction. This is a trace when this source was overwritten on some recording originally recorded on the tape used (* Probably a music radio program at the time), but since this symptom appears only in this song, only this one song Another source that followed a different route may have been used. But this is also a very high quality sound image, which makes me laugh. “Cymbaline” is characterized by a habitual fushi singing around, similar to the performance on the 19th of the day before in Brescia. Hiss noise is slightly noticeable in the skit scene of footsteps, but you can also see that this is also considerably reduced compared to each already released board. “A Saucerful Of Secrets” is clearer and more direct and clearer than the Windmill-011. As you can see when you actually hear the sound, the contour of the sound is as sharp as +2, and the performance is sitting in the center with Don, so it is an extraordinary listening comfort. There is a momentary interruption at 18:15, but this is also the case with Windmill-011, which is probably a sign of deterioration caused by the master tape of the original or a recording error caused when transferred to 1st gen . But everything including those shortcomings can be experienced with a vivid sound image that exceeds the already released board.

On Disk 3, the first appearance scene is visible from the beginning. Here is a scene waiting for the encore, but because it includes a light tuning scene that also serves as sound output, the point is higher. Although it is only 1 minute and 10 seconds, it is a very important scene that raises the documentary of the scene on the day. And the expected value in this place rises in MAX, “ Astronomy Domine ” also, the high level of descriptive performance unique to this source shines everywhere, and its wonderful performance sound pushed from deep in the soul Your heart should be hot. Also, this song is not included in the first place in “ROME 20-6-1971”, and on the Windmill-011 board, the encore waiting scene described above is cut entirely and the song starts, so the listening response as a show is quite different Let’s note that it is. After the performance, the announcement in the venue (informing the end) in Italian that you heard on the Windmill-011 board will flow, but the future schedule of the venue you can listen to here will remain more tough and clear sound image than the Windmill-011 board It is also noteworthy that the end of the disk is not finished. In this disc end part, Windmill-011 board is faded out processing, but in this work it is recorded as raw unprocessed = recording is cut off, so the freshness is transmitted to the last minute Is.

This week, the first day of this Rome, the Brescia performance on the 19th will also appear first time Amazing new sound source using Recorder 2

「Careful With That Axe, Eugene」では位相の正確さに注目です。

「The Return Of The Son Of Nothing」で注目したいのは6:04から突入する中盤の音像です。 「Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun」ではWindmill-011盤使用ソース同様、導入部で全く別の音声が右チャンネルから聞こえてきます。
