本作は、そんなアルバム「ロンドンタウン」のセッション音源を集大成しているタイトルになります。ディスク１はアルバムのためのテスト・プレス・アセテート音源を収録。ほぼ完成形に近い段階でのものらしく、ほぼリリース・バージョンに近いものですが、その違いを聴き比べてみていただければと思います。何よりアセテート特有の生々しい音触、目の前で演奏しているかのような臨場感が素晴らしいです。

ディスク２からは、まさにセッション音源になります。「I Keep On Believing」は未発表曲ですが、なんと「Love Awake」とのメドレーになっているのが特長です。もっともメドレーとはいえ、いささか唐突感のある不自然なもので、アルバム「バック・トゥ・ジ・エッグ」に収録されたときは別の曲とのメドレーになっていました。いずれにせよ「Love Awake」が独立した単独の楽曲ではなく、元々メドレーを構成するためのものであったことが伺えます。そして後半は、いよいよ場所をヴァージン諸島に移してのセッション音源です。デモよりも少し進んだ段階での歌入れのような感じで、ポールのヴォーカルをメインに、コーラスなどがまだ手探りの状態であることが伺えます。まだまだ荒削りで、これから洗練されてまさに最終形になる過程です。「With A Little Luck」などは、シンプルな演奏で、コーラスの類は一切入っておらず、ポールがひとりで、かな～り丁寧に歌っており、どのように歌い回しにアクセントをつけていくかを、これから決めていくのでしょう。それでもメロディの美しさは、これがしあわせの予感ならぬ、名曲の予感にあふれたものであることは、このラフなバージョンからでも充分に伝わってきます。

ディスク3は再びロンドンに戻ってからのセッション音源になります。軽くスキャットで歌われる「なつかしの昔よ」、未発表曲「After You’ve Gone」「Boil Crisis」などが収録されています。どちらかといえば、スタジオでポールがリズムマシーンを使って宅録しているかのようなトラックです。そして「夢の旅人」はあの特徴的なバグパイプの部分を、キーボードで仮当てしての演奏です。後半は、同時期にレコーディングされたリンダがヴォーカルをとる「シーサイド・トゥ・Ｂサイド」のリミックスを3バージョン収録しています。
