Combined with the momentum of the bubble economy at that time, Paul’s first performance in Japan in 1990 was literally a fever. In that respect, there is a section that was considered by maniacs to be unpopular for a while after the performance in Japan in 1993 ended. On the contrary, I think the 1993 tour itself was underrated. However, in the last 20 years, performances in Japan in 1993 and the latest album “OFF THE GOURND” at that time have been re-evaluated. And above all, the new excavation audience albums that have been released in 1993 for the last 10 years played a major role in raising the reputation. Because the items released in 1993 disappeared from the market a long time ago.
To support that, all the limited press CD items that have been released based on the original sound source are very popular, and the only current release item “TOKYO DOME 1993 1ST & 2ND NIGHT” is also a bestseller. It has turned into. This title is a translation of the first half of the two performances from the Tokyo Dome performance in 1993, which was held three times in total, with its own audience recording and superb sound quality, but regretfully capturing the situation on the third day of the Tokyo Dome. That there is no current item. Certainly, in 2014, a four-disc set, which was coupled with the second day sound source called “THE NEW WORLD TOUR IN TOKYO DOME” was released, but it has been sold out again for a long time. That’s why even if you’re not a fanatic, you’ve been waiting for new items on the third day of Tokyo Dome.
In the first place, the third day of Tokyo Dome is that TV broadcasting was realized with the sound check pattern of the day and the set, but in the live performance, only less than one-third of the actual show was broadcast. It was said that “Let Me Roll It” was a take on the 14th, and it was a frustrating edit in every sense. As a result, the value of the complete audience recording on the third day of the Tokyo Dome did not drop, and because of that, “THE NEW WORLD TOUR IN TOKYO DOME”, which recorded the sound source of the third day, gained great popularity. It has been sold out.

However, this summer, mania suddenly provided a new audience recording on the third day of the Tokyo Dome. Of course, it is needless to say that it is a sound source that has not been distributed between traders or on the net at all, but the epoch-making thing is its recording state. Speaking of 1993, DAT was already in widespread use among tapers, and all the items released so far were recorded using it. However, the Audience Master provided this time was surprisingly using cassette tape. Of course the grade used is high positive.
When the digital era started in 1993, the sound source that appeared on the third day of the Tokyo Dome was recorded in a setting that was said to be heresy. In this era, audience recording using DAT at Tokyo Dome cannot escape the echo peculiar to the dome, no matter how close the sound image is.

In that respect, there is no such echo in the sound source this time, which is an analog cassette recording. Thanks to that, the performance has been surprisingly close-up. For example, the intro of “Looking For Changes” played by Robbie Macintosh is no longer sound board level. Not only can you hear the sound of the band you want to listen to with its overwhelming sound pressure, but also the sound pressure of the acoustic corner set up in the middle of the show after the success of “UNPLUGGED”. If it’s digital, there’s a tendency for the sound to be withdrawn in this part, but again, the power of analog would be overwhelming.
Because the base is cassette recording, cuts will naturally be made by tape change, but the work that changed between songs is wonderful. I patched the “THE NEW WORLD TOUR IN TOKYO DOME” sound source to the cuts that occurred there, and I wondered if this would make me realize the amazing sound image of this sound source.
Despite that, it is also a big attraction of the sound source this time that it captures a pleasant presence, especially on the left side there are yellow cheers like Beetle mania. I can’t hate this unexpectedly. This is because the songs from Beetle Classic to “OFF THE GOURND” are not just saying “Kya-Kya”, but all the excitement. What impresses me is that he is cheering on him properly, such as when the Robbie’s Bit (Thanks Chet) in-house installation by the lobby begins. So I can’t hate it. In the middle of this song, you can hear the audience’s masterpiece interaction from the right side. Please listen to them and laugh.

Looking back now, at the end of the acoustic corner, starting with “Michelle”, Paul’s killer ballad sang in succession like “Here There And Everywhere”, “Yesterday” and “My Love”. Gorgeous thing. And since all of these songs are no longer being sung live, this extraordinary ballad selection looks fresh. After all, at that time, all the songs I thought I could listen to at a live concert were normal.
And, as I mentioned when releasing “THE NEW WORLD TOUR IN TOKYO DOME”, what was the best performance of Paul on this day? Unlike in 1990 when I was sick of the bad physical condition that occurred on the tour before coming to Japan, there is a pole with the engine fully open. “O Sole Mio” sang in front of “Hey Jude” and singing singing that goes beyond the scope of play. In addition to that, the song recorded in “OFF THE GOURND” that engraves the band sound with momentum is reflected. From the TV broadcast that was too short, the charm only on the last day of Tokyo Dome was not transmitted. Still, the bone sound from high-positive recording, which is different from the digital audience, makes the splendor of this day even more remarkable. This is a great recording without multiplication, please enjoy with the roar from the speaker!
