I think it’s new to remember that “2ND NIGHT IN TOKYO DOME 1993”, which is a masterpiece of the performance in Japan in 1993, has been sold out, but in response to that news, a new sound source has been provided. In conclusion, this new audience recording master is a superb sound source that easily surpasses the level of that “2ND NIGHT ~”. The sound quality of it was also excellent, but the sound source this time is wonderful to go above it without any price. It should be very easy to realize just by listening to the opening BGM. Anyway, the on sound image is a masterpiece! Above all, I affirm that the goodness of Paul’s voice is by far the best among the performances that our shop has released in 1993. Unlike the 1990 performance in Japan, which suffered from the aftereffects of a cold, Paul was in great shape at this time. You will be absolutely satisfied with the sound quality that was captured without any notice.
Although it is a new sound source that deserves to be called a new standard even with such outstanding clearness and sound image alone, the texture that should be called warmy also slightly exceeds the recording state of “2ND NIGHT ~”. I had the impression that the sound quality there was narrow and dark, but the sound source this time was the exact opposite. The spread and warm taste are exquisite. Coupled with Paul’s voice there, we will reproduce the appearance of the second day in Tokyo with a wonderful sound quality that I can not hope for as an audience recording of the 1993 Tokyo Dome live.
The presence of the venue is also exquisitely balanced, and sometimes you can hear the voice singing enthusiastically on the left and right, but fortunately it is not in a state of piercing the ears, rather the excitement of the performance in Japan in 1993 is good It will tell you with a feeling. Still, there is no translation system like the performances in Japan in 2002 or last year, so when Paul releases a long English MC, it seems to be delayed and the reaction of “Yay” is returned, which makes me feel a settlement. Paul may have learned the frustration of communicating from his experience at that time, and decided to introduce a system like that after 2002.
And it was also the 1993 tour that the high-quality live sound of the tour band formed in 1989 reached its peak. The band’s perfect performance with the master Robbie McIntosh is truly stable. It’s no wonder that his name is screaming before his guitar solo corner “Robbie’s Bit” begins. Since it is such a superb sound source, a limited release on a press CD is natural, and a new standard for the performance in Japan in 1993 will reappear.

1993年来日公演の名盤である「2ND NIGHT IN TOKYO DOME 1993」がSOLD OUTしてしまったことは記憶に新しいかと思いますが、その報を受けて新たな音源の提供が実現しました。結論から言ってしまうと、今回の新たなオーディエンス録音マスターはあの「2ND NIGHT～」のレベルを軽く凌いでしまうほどの極上音源なのです。それの音質も素晴らしいものではありましたが、今回の音源は掛け値なしにその上を行く素晴らしさ。それはオープニングBGMを聴いてもらうだけで、いとも簡単に実感してもらえるはず。とにかくオンな音像が圧巻です！中でもポールの声の通りの良さはこれまで当店がリリースして来た93年来日公演ものの中でもダントツであることを断言いたします。風邪の後遺症に悩まされた90年の来日公演と違い、この時のポールは本当に絶好調。その様子があますことなく捉えられた音質、これだけでも絶対に満足していただけることでしょう。
そんな抜群のクリアネスや音像だけでも新たなスタンダードと呼ぶにふさわしい新音源ではありますが、これぞウォーミーというべき質感もまた「2ND NIGHT～」の録音状態を軽く上回るものなのです。そこでの音質はレンジが狭くて暗いという印象があったのですが、今回の音源は正反対。広がりとウォーミーな味わいは絶品。そこにポールの声が大きなバランスと相まって、93年東京ドーム・ライブのオーディエンス録音としてはこれ以上望めないのでは、と思えるほど素晴らしい音質で東京二日目の様子を再現いたします。
会場の臨場感も絶妙なバランスとなっていて、たまに左右で熱唱する声も聞こえますが、それが耳を突くような状態となっていないのも幸いで、むしろ93年来日公演の盛り上がりをいい感じで伝えてくれるものでしょう。それでいて2002年や昨年の来日公演のような翻訳システムがありませんので、ポールが英語の長めなMCを放つと遅れ気味で「イエーイ」という反応が返ってくるところに示談を感じさせます。ポールとしてもこの時の経験などからコミュニケーションすることのもどかしさを覚え、2002年以降のようなシステムの導入へと踏み切ったのではないでしょうか。
そして1989年に結成されたツアー・バンドの上質なライブ・サウンドが頂点を迎えたのが93年ツアーでもありました。名手ロビー・マッキントッシュを配したバンドの完璧な演奏ぶり、本当にブレがありません。彼のギター・ソロ・コーナー「Robbie’s Bit」が始まる前で彼の名前を叫ぶ声が上がるのも当然と言えるでしょう。そんな極上音源ですのでプレスCDでの限定リリースは当たり前、93年来日公演の新たなスタンダードが再登場します。
