1989年から1990年にかけてポールはソロとしては初のツアーで世界をまわっている。ニュー・アルバム『Flowers In The Dirt』と共にビートルズの曲を初めてステージで披露するという事でも話題となり、現在に続くポールのソロ・ツアーの嚆矢となっている。この通称GET BACK TOURも終盤であったが、その流れで1990年6月30日ネブワース・フェスティバルのステージに立ったのである。この時はUKにおいてグラスゴウとリバプール、そしてネブワースと3公演のみのスケジュールで、あたかもこのフェスに合わせて帰国したかのような印象を受ける。ステージはフェスという事もあり1時間強の長さでありながら、時間的制約を課せられたが故に同ツアーでも類を見ない特別なセットリストになっている。

1990年のネブワースは各出演アーティストのダイジェストをまとめたものがリリースされているが、ポール単独のステージからは2曲のみであった。それでも当時は『Tripping The Live Fantastic』のリリース前であったため、初めて公式に聴くことが出来たポールの最新ツアーの演奏ということでマニアにとっては想い出深いコンサートである。本作はそのネブワース公演を、ポールの出演をサウンドボードで完全収録したタイトルである。これは当時の「LIVE AS IT HAPPENED」という衛星中継から収録されており、当時リリースされていたLPや、それから落としたCDとは一線を画す素晴らしい高音質サウンドボードで収録されているのが特徴である。

先にセットリストがこの日のみの特別なものであると紹介したが、1曲目がまず「Coming Up」という珍しさ。このツアーでは毎回「Coming Up」がレギュラーで演奏されていたが、打ち込みを交えリズムを強調したダンサンブルなアレンジとして披露されており、会場を1曲目から盛り上げるのに最適であると判断されたのだろう。ニューアルバムからは「幸せなる結婚」1曲にとどまっている、そして「Birthday」はこのツアーにおいて初めてステージで演奏された同曲の初演にあたる。この後も何度か演奏され、近年でもステージで採り上げられているが、レコーディング以来初めて演奏したのがこの日であった。「Hey Jude」は今も常にコンサートのハイライトであり、後半のリフレインを会場に歌わせるという演出が踏襲されている。この日集まった聴衆は12万人ともいわれ、ざっと東京ドームの2倍以上だと想像すればその規模が伺えよう。

そしてこの日最大のウリは「Strawberry Fields Forever」「Help」「Give Peace A Chance」のメドレーということになるのではないか。聴き慣れないイントロが鳴り、ブレイクの後にLet me take you downと歌い出し「あの曲」だとわかる演出となっている。レコーディングのエピソードから伺える通りリズムが不安定な曲でありながら、ポールなりの解釈による新たなアレンジで演奏されている。「Help」も同様にノリのよいロックンロールではなく、ゆったりとしたアレンジとなっている。そして最後は「平和を我らに」である。リフレインの部分ではドサクサに紛れてポールが「Help」の歌詞を再びぶち込んでいるのが面白い。そして「平和を我らに」を含め全てLennon ? McCartneyのクレジット曲である点にも注目したい。このジョンの曲のメドレーは、グラスゴウのサウンドチェックで入念に演奏され、次のリバプール公演で初披露された。その時のライブはポールがシングルとしてリリースしている。このネブワース公演はそれとは違う2度目の演奏になる。好評を受け手かこの後のアメリカン・ツアーではセットリストに組み込まれるようになった。
