“Oceania tour for the first time in 24 years realized” ONE ON ONE “. That latest / special class live album is appearing. Over all, 7 shows. It is two consecutive performances at the indoor stadium “Cudds Bank Arena (formerly Sydney · Super Dome)” like Melbourne, this work “December 11th” to Disk 1-3, “December 12th “on the disc 4-6.
The quality of such a work is a really wonderful audience sound. Actually, this work was recorded by the Japanese taper who went to Australia. Although he is a succession of name recordings in the country, Australia was recorded for the first time in 24 years to commemorate with its amazing skill. In fact, the sound of this work is extremely beautiful and the spectacle is wonderful. The first day (Disc 1-3) is the 2nd floor of the stand, the 2nd day is the 1st floor of the stand, both in the front row. Although the feeling on the second day is somewhat on from the difference of such position, the nuance is very similar to the same recording machine and the same aircraft. And above all, the clearness is superb because it is the front seat. Musical tones and singing voices arrive straight from the front without any shielding objects, so that a clear sight of the scene where eyes are opened will appear in the eyes. Moreover, it seems that “Cudds Bank Arena” was accommodating about 15,000 people, which is a little small for Paul’s venue. It is too wide, there is no such thing as a jet lag, and the sense of air is transparent as well.
And the great cheers are wonderful again. In “PERTH 2017” and “MELBOURNE 2017”, although musical tones are wonderful, the realism of the audience was somewhat difficult to communicate. However, this work has shown a spectacular spectacle for the first time in 24 years. ……, and when it writes like this, it seems to be a scream screaming recording, but it is not so. Although this work does not mean that the conversation is completely zero, only the front row does not get in between the performance. On the other hand, because it is the front row, the arena seats are endlessly spreading under the eyes, from which the cheers and shouts like boiling are sucked in. This spectacle is amazing. Both crowds have a distance but still it is realistic from a relatively close position to the far end seat of the end, and the wave of cheers to return is expanded. Moreover, it boils down from the bottom, and does not disturb the musical sound and singing voice jumping at the height of the line of sight. While accompanying about 15,000 choruses, it also delivers outstandingly the stereoscopic feel of singing voices made clear. Such sound goes through the full set of 2 performances.
The show drawn with that quality is also amazingly wonderful. The first day (Disc 1-3) is the same basic set of Oceania and Leg as Perth performance and Melbourne’s first day, but the second day (Disc 4-6) replaced five songs solely for continuous performance at the venue. This is similar to the second day in Melbourne, but it is not exactly the same but chooses “Temporary Secretary” instead of “Save Us”. This song was played only in Oceania and Leg this day. It is one song to be released for the first time in Australia. Of course, “Mull of Kintyre” participates in the local bagpip band “GOVERNOR MACQUARIE MEMORIAL PIPE BAND”.
Another thing I hear is “I Saw Her Standing There” on the second day. After finishing, I will introduce the fan to the stage and introduce it, but this day it was a female fan in Nagoya. In a moment my memory of Japanese performance will be revived, but again this is an exotic country. A warm applause rises in the exchange of “where did you come from?” “From Japan”, as if a mood like a pleasant welcome with Paul drifts.

24年ぶりのオセアニア・ツアーが実現した“ONE ON ONE”。その最新・特級のライヴアルバムが登場です。先日も速報レポート盤『PERTH 2017（Uxbridge 762）』『MELBOURNE 2017（Uxbridge 763）』が大好評を賜りましたが、今回は当店のオリジナル音源。録音家本人から直接譲れたマスターをダイレクトにCD化した銘品です。
そんな本作に収められているのは「2017年12月11日＋12日シドニー公演」。まずは、本作のポジションをオセアニア・ツアー全容の中から確認してみましょう。

以上、全７公演。メルボルンと同じように屋内競技場“クードス・バンク・アリーナ（旧：シドニー・スーパードーム）”での連続２公演であり、本作は「12月11日」をディスク１-３に、「12月12日」をディスク４-６にフル収録した６枚組です。
そんな本作のクオリティは、実に素晴らしいオーディエンス・サウンド。実は、本作を記録したのは渡豪した日本人テーパー。国内でも名録音を連発している方ですが、その凄腕で記念すべき24年ぶりのオーストラリアを記録されたのです。実際、本作のサウンドは極めて見目麗しく、スペクタクルが素晴らしい。初日（ディスク１-３）はスタンド２階、２日目はスタンド１階ながら両方とも最前列。そんな位置の違いから２日目の方がややオンな感触ですが、同録音家・同機材だけにニュアンスは酷似しています。そして何より、最前席だからこそのクリアさが素晴らしい。前方から楽音と歌声が遮蔽物もなく真っ直ぐに届き、目の前が開けた現場のクリアな光景が目に浮かぶよう。しかも、“クードス・バンク・アリーナ”には約１万5000人を収容していたらしく、ポールの会場にしてはやや小ぶり。それだけに広すぎて時差が起きるようなこともなく、空気感も透き通っているのです。
そして、大歓声がまた素晴らしい。『PERTH 2017』や『MELBOURNE 2017』では楽音こそ素晴らしいものの、観客のリアリズムはやや伝わりにくいところがありました。しかし、本作は24年ぶりの熱狂が極上のスペクタクルを描き出しているのです。……と、こう書くと絶叫まみれの録音と思われてしまうかも知れませんが、そうではありません。本作も会話が完全ゼロというわけではないのですが、最前列だけに演奏との間に入り込まない。その一方、最前列だからこそ眼下にはアリーナ席が果てしなく広がっており、そこから湯気のように沸き立つ喝采と唱和が吸い込まれている。このスペクタクルが凄い。いずれの観客とも距離があるわけですが、それでも比較的近いところから果ての遠方席までの遠近感までリアルであり、寄せては返す喝采の波が広がるのです。しかも、それが下方から沸き立つのであり、目線の高さで飛び込んでくる楽音と歌声を邪魔しない。約１万5000人のコーラス隊を付き従えつつ、クッキリとした歌声の立体感までも見事に描き出している。そんなサウンドが２公演フルセットを貫いているのです。
そのクオリティで描かれるショウがまた、すこぶる素晴らしい。初日（ディスク１-３）はパース公演やメルボルン初日と同じオセアニア・レッグの基本セットですが、２日目（ディスク４-６）は同会場の連続公演だけに大きく５曲入れ替え。これもメルボルン２日目と似てはいるのですが、まったく同じではなく「Save Us」の代わりに「Temporary Secretary」をチョイス。この曲が演奏されたのはオセアニア・レッグでこの日だけ。オーストラリア初披露となる１曲なのです。もちろん、「Mull of Kintyre」では地元のバグパイプ・バンド“GOVERNOR MACQUARIE MEMORIAL PIPE BAND”が参加しています。
また、もう１つ聴きどころなのが２日目の「I Saw Her Standing There」。終了後にファンをステージに上げて紹介するわけですが、この日登場したのは名古屋の女性ファン。一瞬にして日本公演の記憶が甦りますが、やはりここは異国。「どこから来たの？」「from Japan」のやりとりに暖かい喝采が沸き起こり、まるでポールと共に歓待するようなムードが漂うのです。

日本人テーパーならではの端正なサウンドと、24年ぶりだからこその熱狂。そんな美味しい音世界に２公演フルスケールで浸りきれる６枚組です。実のところ、日本人は団体だったのかヘッドフォンで耳を澄ますと曲間に日本語も聞こえたりするのですが、それがまた何とも味わい深い旅感覚を呼び起こす（特に初日の開演前は７分も前から録音されていてムード満点です）。異国までポールに会いに行ける大ボリュームのトラベル・アルバム。どうぞ、たっぷりとお楽しみください。
