ポール・マッカートニーは2018年に入り、前回のONE ON ONE TOURを改め、FRESHEN UP TOURと題して再び新たなツアーに出る事を発表。このツアーは2018年9月カナダを皮切りに、フェスティバル出演を含み、2019年にはアメリカのスケジュールまで決まっている。そして間をおかず2018年、このFRESHEN UP TOURの一環として来日公演が行なわれた。日程は下記の通り。

今回は初の両国国技館、そして1980年ウイングスが予定していたものの中止となった名古屋公演が組まれているのが特徴である。前回3回だった東京ドーム公演は2回と回数が減ったものの、ドーム球場を何度も埋め尽くせる動員力のあるアーティストは、ポールくらいビッグネーム以外に不可能であろう。本作は、その二日目2018年11月1日東京ドーム公演を4台のカメラを編集した映像で完全収録している。

前年の2017年来日公演もまた、ピカデリー・サーカス・レーベルから全公演映像がリリースされている。複数台のカメラを編集することによって、まるでプロショット映像のような完成度の高い作品に仕上がっており、多くのファンに驚きを持って迎えられたが、今回はさらにバージョン・アップしている。カメラの台数も増え、 この日は全てアリーナからのショットでカメラが4台。まさに様々な角度からステージを接写。スタンドからの遠距離望遠映像とは比べ物にならない、画面いっぱいに広がる超接近映像は臨場感あふるる素晴らしい出来栄え。2017年の映像を見て驚かれた方は、今回さらにそれを凌駕する映像作品になっていることに再び驚かれるであろう。音声はカメラ付随のマイクではなく、音源のみ専用のマイクで録音されたものを使用しているため、通して統一された高音質で視聴する事が出来る。

2018年来日公演より、二日目11月1日東京ドーム公演を4台のカメラ編集により完全収録。一昔前のオーディエンス映像といえば1カメラで延々同じ画面を眺めているような退屈なものであったが、本作はそれぞれステージの見所を随所でカメラチェンジし、時に引いたステージ全体映像、時にポールの額から汗したたり落ちる様が鮮明に映る超接近映像まで、まるでプロショットのように様々な角度からこの日のコンサートの魅力を余すところなく収録している。2003年以降のポールのライブをずっと追いかけ、今回も、その時々の最新ツアーをいち早くハイ・クオリティでお届けしてきたピカデリー・サーカス・レーベルで揃えて頂ければ間違いないだろう。美しいピクチャー・ディスク仕様の永久保存がっちりプレス盤。
