オジーは４年間続けてきたジェイク・Ｅ・リーとの活動を1987年に打ち切ると、バンドに新たな”血”を導入すべく、再び若いギタリストのオーディションを始めました。その時オジーの相棒としての地位を手に入れたのが、若干21歳のザック・ワイルド。オジーとザックはそれまでのL.A.メタル的な方向性からサウンドを大きく切り返し、初期BLACK SABBATHにも通じるヘヴィネスを持った「NO REST FOR THE WICKED」を製作します。
オジーらはアルバム発表に先立つ’88年7月、イギリスのクラブを中心にライヴ活動をスタートします。そして11月からはANTHRAXを前座に起用して、大がかりな全米ツアーを開始。ザックが放つ豪快なプレイは、たちまちファンの間で話題となりました。
本作ではその’88年ツアーの終盤、12月27日にシカゴで行われたライヴを、臨場感と演奏の聴き応えに優れた極上のオーディエンス・マスターより音盤化！　この’88年ライヴはShadesレーベルの「BLOODBATH IN INDIANAPOLIS」が定番でしたが、本作はそれを上回る、オジーの同年アメリカツアーの決定版だと断言します！

録音はライヴの幕開けを告げる「Carmina Bunara」から始まります。やや低音が歪む個所がありますが、荘厳なBGMの中、オジーのライヴを今や遅しと待ち受ける観客の興奮がありありと伝わります。オジーが”Let the madness begin!”と叫ぶや否や、堰を切ったように「I Don’t Know」の演奏がスタートします！　素晴らしい明度に裏付けられた楽音は、パートのそれぞれを生々しく再現。特にランディ・カスティロのドラムはパワフルに響き、続く「Flying High Again」でもオジーのヴォーカルやザックのギターに負けない存在感を放ちます。
問答無用の名曲「Mr. Crowley」からはライヴ最初のハイライトに突入！　イントロで奏でられるジョン・シンクレアのキーボードからして印象的ですが、すでに奔放で豪快な個性に満ちたザックのギターは、バッキングそしてソロともに聴き所満載。オジーのヴォーカルも好調です。さらにザックのギターと、あのギーザー・バトラーのベースを得て、名実ともに堂々たるヘヴィメタルへと昇華した「Shot In The Dark」はもっと凄い！　重厚でパワフルな演奏とキャッチーなメロディの遭遇は、聴き手に強烈なインパクトを残すでしょう。ここから狂乱の「Bloodbath In Paradise」へとなだれ込む場面は、いかなるメタル・ファンをも魅了せずにはおきません！　さらに前後12分にも及ぶザックのソロパートに続いては、「NO REST FOR THE WICKED」ツアーの特徴である「Sweet Leaf」が登場！　オジーとギーザー、そしてザックが織り成す無敵のヘヴィ・サウンドは、同時期のBLACK SABBATH以上に破壊力があります。
ディスク２はその「Sweet Leaf」からメドレー展開する「War Pigs」から幕を開けます。公式ライヴ「JAST SAY OZZY」ではフル演奏されていましたが、実際のライヴにおける同曲は２分程度のショートバージョンなのです。コンパクトな演奏のおかげで、バンドの勢いはマックスの状態で「Tattooed Dancer」へ突入。スリリングな展開と地響きのようなカスティロのドラムソロは素晴らしい聴き応えです。同曲と「Fire In The Sky」さらに「Miracle Man」の新曲パートは、本ライヴ中盤の聴き所でしょう。ザックの豪放なギターを前面に打ち出した「Suicide Solution」と「Iron Man」そして「Crazy Train」は、ひたすら聴き手を圧倒します！　アンコールで取り上げられる「Bark At The Moon」は、大きめにフィーチャーされたジョン・シンクレアのキーボードも印象的。ライヴのクライマックスは場内の熱気がピークに達する「Paranoid」！　しかし残念ながら同曲の中盤でテープが切れ、録音はフェイドアウトしてしまいす。
