Ozzy Osbourne returned to the Nippon Budokan with his ally Zakk Wylde in 2002. Introducing a new excavation master who can experience the site in real life.

This is Ozzy Osbourne from 2001 to 2005. In 2001 he toured both BLACK SABBATH and solo, and in 2002/2003 he devoted himself to solo (and “Osbournes”). After that, in 2004/2005, on the contrary, I focused on Sabas (and “Osbournes”) …. Among them, only the “Asia” leg in early 2002 reached Japan. The performance at Nippon Budokan in this work was also the fifth concert.
I think that many people have already come to the show, but this show is also the official live album / video “LIVE AT BUDOKAN”. This work is an audience recording that allows you to experience the scene from the audience side. The sound is powerful and super real. As expected, there is no such thing as “higher sound quality than the official live album!” On the other hand, the story changes when you listen to “audience standards”. The freshness is wonderful only for the Omoto master who was handed over from the recorder himself, the core that reaches straight without the disturbance of fine dust is powerful, and the details are clear due to the clear air feeling. It’s not hard to imagine that it was put into storage because of the official live album, but it’s a wonderful recording that would definitely have been a masterpiece of the tour without it.
The fresh sound is a full show that surpasses the official live album “LIVE AT BUDOKAN”. The official version was cut to fit on one CD, but this work is a full show that penetrates all at once. Let’s organize the set while comparing here.

盟友ザック・ワイルドを従え、日本武道館に帰ってきた2002年のオジー・オズボーン。その現場をリアル体験できる新発掘マスターが登場です。
そんな本作に記録されているのは、もちろん「2002年２月15日：日本武道館」公演。その初登場オーディエンス録音です。当時は『DOWN TO EARTH』時代だったわけですが、同時にオジーはBLACK SABBATHとの二足の草鞋を履き、さらに大ヒットTV番組“オズボーンズ”で一躍お茶の間の人気者にも。把握しづらい時期でもありますので、やや広めに活動概要全般から振り返ってみましょう。

これが2001年ー2005年のオジー・オズボーン。2001年はBLACK SABBATHとソロの両方でツアーを行い、2002年／2003年はソロ（と“オズボーンズ”）に専念。その後、2004年／2005年は逆にサバス（と“オズボーンズ”）に専念……という流れでした。その中で日本まで足を伸ばしたのは2002年初頭の「アジア」レッグのみ。本作の日本武道館公演は、その５公演目のコンサートでもありました。
もうピンと来ている方も多いと思いますが、このショウは公式ライヴアルバム／映像『LIVE AT BUDOKAN』にもなっている。本作は、その現場を客席側から体験できるオーディエンス録音なのです。そのサウンドは力強く、超リアル。さすがに「公式ライヴアルバムより高音質！」なんて事はなく、生々しい熱狂もそっくり吸い込み、音色的にも実にオーディエンスらしい。その一方で「オーディエンス基準」で聴いてみると話は変わる。録音家本人から譲られた大元マスターだけに鮮度が素晴らしく、微塵の乱れもなく真っ直ぐ届く芯は力強く、透き通った空気感のためにディテールまで鮮明。公式ライヴアルバムが出たためにお蔵入りになったのは想像に難くありませんが、それさえなければ間違いなくツアー代表作となったであろう、見事な録音なのです。
そんなフレッシュ・サウンドで描かれるのは、公式ライヴアルバム『LIVE AT BUDOKAN』を超えるフルショウ。公式盤はCD１枚に収めるためかカットされていましたが、本作は一気貫通のフルショウなのです。ここで比較しつつ、セットを整理しておきましょう。

……と、このようになっています。曲単位で見ると公式CDより多いのは「Suicide Solution」だけですが、そこから雪崩れ込むザック・ワイルドのギターソロ、メンバー紹介まで含めて丸ごと収録。さらに曲間なども含めると公式CDより「24分以上」も長いのです。実のところ、公式DVDには「Suicide Solution」やギターソロも収録されていたわけですが、それでも本作の方が「６分以上」長い。まさに「Complete Master」なのです。
「オジーのベストな相棒は誰か？」の答えは人それぞれですが、ザック・ワイルドが最有力の１人なのは間違いありません。本作はそんなザックがフルタイムで参加した最後の来日を現場体験できるライヴアルバムです（2015年はガスＧと分け合う“オジー＆フレンズ”でした）。本来であれば、”DOWNLOAD JAPAN 2019”で体験できるはずだった名コンビのフルショウ。どうぞ、本作で存分に本生100％体験してください！
