Ozzy Osbourne in 1991, when “NO MORE TEARS” became the biggest hit in his career alongside “BLIZZARD OF OZZ”. Introducing a new excavation live album that tells the scene of his retirement while proclaiming his retirement.
It was “November 18, 1991 Universal City Performance” that was imbued with this work. It is the excellent audience recording. Speaking of the “NO MORE TEARS” era, the retirement tour “NO MORE TOURS” is famous, but before that, a tour titled “THEATER OF MADNESS Tour” was also held, and there were two stages. To understand the situation, let’s look back on the schedule at that time.

● 1991
“THEATER OF MADNESS Tour”
・ January 11-20: UK (4 performances)
・ February 8: Long beach performance
“September 17,” NO MORE TEARS “released”
《October: John Sinclair withdrawal → Kevin Jones change》
・ October 5: Los Angeles performance
・ October 28th-November 5th: Japan (6 performances)
・ November 12-30: North America # 1 (13 performances) ← ★ Here ★
● 1992
・ January 5-February 17: North America # 2 (26 performances)
・ February 24-March 20: Europe (16 performances)
・ March 28-April 5: North America # 3 (4 performances)
《May: Withdrawal from Kevin Jones → Return to John Sinclair》
“NO MORE TOURS Tour”
・ June 9-July 4: North America # 4 (17 performances)
・ August 14th-November 15th: North America # 5 (46 performances)

This is Ozzy Osbourne in 1991/1992. In the beginning of 1991, he performed a shoulder-breaking gig several times and released “NO MORE TEARS”. Keyboard John Sinclair left the tour for THE CULT and started the tour with Kevin Jones instead. After that, Sinclair returned when he circuited Japan, North America, and Europe for about half a year. The only US tour that took place in the summer / autumn of 1992 was the “NO MORE TOURS Tour”. The Universal City performance of this work is the beginning of the tour in the flow. It was the 5th performance of “North America # 1”.
This work recorded at such a show is a clear sound that makes you feel the clear air. As a matter of fact, there is no sense of closeness that makes you mistake it for a sound board, and the type that really sucks in the enthusiasm of the audience. However, because the atmosphere is transparent, the performance reaches every corner beautifully. Anyway, the outline of each note is clearly highlighted, and the bass line, which tends to be moco-moco, is also clear. Zack’s harmonics and Ozzy’s lyrics word by word are very vivid.
The clear sound is a full show of “THEATER OF MADNESS Tour” which is different from the official work “LIVE & LOUD”. Let’s organize by comparing here.

● Sabas (3 songs)
・ Paranoid: War Pigs / Paranoid
・ VOL.4: Snowblind (★)
● Randy era (6 songs)
・ Blizzard of Ozz: Mr. Crowley / I Don’t Know / Goodbye to Romance / Suicide Solution / Crazy Train
Diary of a Madman: Flying High Again
● Jake era (2 songs)
Bark at the Moon: Bark at the Moon
・ Sin and punishment: Shot in the Dark
● Zack era (4 songs)
・ No Rest for the Wicked: Miracle Man
・ No More Tears: Desire / I Don’t Want to Change the World / No More Tears
* Note: “★” marks are songs that cannot be heard on the official version “LIVE & LOUD”.

… And it looks like this. “LIVE & LOUD” was surprisingly started with “Paranoid”, and had two axes, “BLIZZARD OF OZZ” & “NO MORE TEARS”, but this work is still a bold new song because it is the beginning of the tour. Not important. Starting with “Bark at the Moon”, the 80’s style with “BLIZZARD OF OZZ” as the main axis.
On the other hand, “Snow blind”, which is the first time since “SPEAK OF THE DEVIL”, is delicious. “Snowblind” has the image of being a major song of Sabas, but it’s actually surprisingly valuable. Certainly it was a staple in the 70’s and the reunion Sabas, but it has never been played in Sabas other than Ozzfest, and only “THEATER OF MADNESS Tour” has entered the regular set even in Ozzfest’s solo (we Japan). For people, the performance at “OZZFEST JAPAN 2015” is a memorable place, but that was an extremely rare exception). In this work, you can enjoy “Snow blind” sung by Ozzy and played by Zack in detail.
Furthermore, this work is one of the deliciousness of the enthusiasm of the site. No, it’s really exciting. Ozzy has always been the emperor of the metal world, but commercially peaked in 1991/1992. The hot and vast support is clearly visible at the scene of this work. A large crowd who rejoices in the title of each song, sings choruses, and answers calls and responses with all their might. Zack’s guitar solo also barks at the moon (laughs), and the “Fuck you !!!” shout that shakes the venue due to Zack’s instigation is also powerful. Of course, the performance sound is powerful enough to cut through such cheers and singing, but it is also one that is overwhelmed by the love of Ozzy who is reluctant to say goodbye.
This work is a music album where you can enjoy the precious “Snow blind” with its heyday and sharp performance, but it is also a document that impresses with enormous enthusiasm. The resumption of “NO MORE TOURS II” has been Oazuke until 2022, but it is a new masterpiece that is more than enough to heal the dryness. Please enjoy it to your heart’s content.

★ Excellent audience recording of “November 18, 1991 Universal City Performance”. With a clear recording that lets you feel the clear air, the outline of each note stands out clearly, and the bass line that tends to be moco-moco is also clear. Zack’s harmonics and Ozzy’s lyrics are very vivid recordings word by word. It is a new masterpiece that you can clearly enjoy “Snow blind (since SPEAK OF THE DEVIL)” which you can not hear in “LIVE & LOUD” even though it is very popular in its prime.

「Bark at the Moon」でスタートさせ、あくまで『BLIZZARD OF OZZ』を主軸とした80年代スタイル。
その一方で『SPEAK OF THE DEVIL』以来となる「Snowblind」が美味しい。
