Even in the Randy Rhoad era, which is too special, the “original BLIZZARD” period is extremely special. The full live album, which is the masterpiece, is a marvelous new excavation. Introducing a permanent storage press CD. The masterpiece was imbued with “September 20, 1980 London performance”. It is a superb audience recording recorded at the traditional famous venue “Hammersmith Odeon”.
[The “original BLIZZARD” era that produced the two masterpieces] You may not be familiar with the word “original BLIZZARD”, but this is the member who produced the historical masterpieces “BLIZZARD OF OZZ” and “DIARY OF A MADMAN”. In other words, in addition to Ozzy / Randy, there are four people who have the original rhythm section Bob Daisley & Lee Kerslake. These four people created two great masterpieces, but when it came to live performances, most of them were replaced by Rudy Sarzo & Tommy Aldridge after 1981. There are few live performances of “Original Blizzard”, and the records left behind are extremely valuable. We have archived some of these records, so let’s organize them in detail here.● 1980

“February-March” DIARY OF A MADMAN “production”
《March: Bob Daisley / Lee Kerslake withdrawal》
This is the outline of “Original BLIZZARD”. The Southampton performance was recorded on a sound board, and although several songs were released on “TRIBUTE” “Goodbye To Romance” “No Bone Movies” and live EP “MR. CROWLEY”, that’s it officially. Full shows have to rely on audience recordings. Among them, the Hammersmith performance of this work was the 8th concert on the day of the release of the famous board “BLIZZARD OF OZZ”.
The live day itself is historical, but the true value of this work is not there. Even “Original BLIZZARD” is a full live album with the highest sound quality. The famous recording has been known for a long time on this day, and “HAMMERSMITH BLIZZARD (Shades 410)” has become a big standard in our shop, but this work is not the upgrade master. It’s a completely different new excavation recording.
For our customers, I think that the conventional version of the same show “HAMMERSMITH BLIZZARD” is familiar, but this is no longer a complete match. “HAMMERSMITH BLIZZARD” must be one of the best recordings of the original BLIZZARD even with the current ears, but this work is overwhelmingly close and on. It will not be a partner of this work that does not have a feeling of squishy. However, the conventional version, which has finished its role, also contributed greatly to the complement. As a matter of fact, this new excavation recording is not perfect, and the recording ended in the middle of “Paranoid” of Angkor Lath. The “HAMMERSMITH BLIZZARD” master made it perfect. In addition, he is active in repairing and complementing the opening part, pausing between songs, and momentary splashes. Not only the best sound, but also the longest and most seamless “complete album” ever realized.
By the way, the “best of the day” is the local qualifying. In order to shine as the “King of the Original BLIZZARD”, you must defeat the champion “CHELMSFORD COMPLETE”. What was great about that masterpiece was the strength and separation of the on-core, but as mentioned above, this work also has a lot of direct feeling. The physical sense of distance is a good match with the Chelmsford recording, but the decisive factor for the victory was the clearness. Anyway, the feeling of air is transparent, and even the subtleties are very vivid. In some cases, Chelmsford recordings that enthusiasts have equalized to enhance the direct feeling are also on the market, but this work is overwhelming with a fresh and natural feeling. You can experience the dancing Randy’s guitar and Bob & Lee’s original beats in a super-realistic way.
The show drawn with such a new champion sound will be “Live performance version BLIZZARD OF OZZ”. As mentioned above, “Original BLIZZARD” also has official sound boards for several songs, so let’s hold down any of the other songs.

The rare song “You Looking At Me Looking At You” is also delicious, but the “original BLIZZARD” ensemble that goes through the whole story is irresistible. Not only Randy, but the site where all the real bands that produced the two major albums are gathered. It is the highest peak of the live album where you can fully experience it. Even in the Randy collection, which has been enriched as the excavation progresses, it is a definitive piece that boasts a special brilliance. Please enjoy it with the permanent storage press CD!

【２大名盤を生み出した「オリジナルBLIZZARD」時代】
「オリジナルBLIZZARD」という言葉に聞き馴染みがないかも知れませんが、これは歴史的大名盤『BLIZZARD OF OZZ』『DIARY OF A MADMAN』を制作したメンバー。つまり、オジー／ランディに加え、オリジナルのリズム隊ボブ・デイズリー＆リー・カースレイクが揃った４人のことです。この４人は大名盤２枚を創り上げたわけですが、ライヴとなると大半がルディ・サーゾ＆トミー・アルドリッジに交代した1981年以降。「オリジナルBLIZZARD」の生演奏は少なく、残された記録も極めて貴重なのです。当店では、そうした記録もいくつかアーカイヴしておりますので、ここで日程で詳しく整理してみましょう。

これが「オリジナルBLIZZARD」の概要。サウスハンプトン公演はサウンドボードで録音され、『TRIBUTE』の「Goodbye To Romance」「No Bone Movies」やライヴEP『MR. CROWLEY』で数曲が公開されたものの、公式にはそれだけ。フル・ショウはオーディエンス録音に頼らざるを得ないのです。その中で、本作のハマースミス公演は大名盤『BLIZZARD OF OZZ』のリリース当日となる８公演目のコンサートでした。
ライヴ日自体が歴史的でもあるのですが、本作の真価はそこではない。「オリジナルBLIZZARD」でも最高音質のフル・ライヴアルバムなのです。この日は以前から名録音が知られており、当店でも『HAMMERSMITH BLIZZARD（Shades 410）』が大定番となっておりますが、本作はそのアップグレード・マスターではない。まったく別の新発掘録音なのです。
【オリジナルBLIZZARDの最高傑作となるフル・ライヴアルバム】
そのサウンドは、まさしく過去最高。これは「この日の最高」ではありません。現在までに知られる「オリジナルBLIZZARD」全録音でもベストを更新するのです（当然スタジオ名盤や公式SBDは別の話ですが）。実のところ、これまで「オリジナルBLIZZARD」の頂点と言えば、名門Bondageレーベルの『CHELMSFORD COMPLETE』が頭１つ抜きん出た存在。他はサウンドの個性で意見が割れる……ぶっちゃければ、団栗の背比べでもありました。本作は、その『CHELMSFORD COMPLETE』をも一蹴する新王者なのです。
当店のお客様の場合、同じショウの従来盤『HAMMERSMITH BLIZZARD』が馴染み深いと思いますが、こちらはもう完全に勝負にならない。『HAMMERSMITH BLIZZARD』は今の耳でもオリジナルBLIZZARD屈指の名録音には違いないものの、本作方が圧倒的に近く、オン。スカスカ感もまるでない本作の相手にはなりません。ただし、役目を終えた従来盤も補完には大きく貢献してくれました。実のところ、今回の新発掘録音は完全無欠なわけではなく、アンコール大ラスの「Paranoid」の途中で録音が終了していました。それを完全形にしてくれたのが『HAMMERSMITH BLIZZARD』マスター。他にも開演パートや曲間の一時停止、一瞬のハネなどの補修・補完に活躍。ベスト・サウンドだけでなく過去最長でシームレスな「完全アルバム」も実現させてくれたのです。
さて、「同日のベスト」はあくまでも地方予選。「オリジナルBLIZZARDの王」に輝くためには、チャンピオン『CHELMSFORD COMPLETE』を倒さねばなりません。かの名盤の何が素晴らしかったかと言えば、オンな芯の力強さと分離感にあったわけですが、前述通り本作もダイレクト感たっぷり。物理的な距離感はチェルムスフォード録音といい勝負ではあるのですが、勝利の決め手となったのはクリアさ。とにかく空気感が透き通っており、機微の機微までえらく鮮やかなのです。一部では、マニアがイコライズしてダイレクト感を強化したチェルムスフォード録音も出回っていますが、それに対して本作は瑞々しいナチュラル感で圧倒している。舞い踊るランディのギターも、ボブ＆リーのオリジナル・ビートも超リアルに現場体験できるのです。
そんな新王者サウンドで描かれるショウは、「生演奏版BLIZZARD OF OZZ」となるもの。前述した通り、「オリジナルBLIZZARD」には数曲分の公式サウンドボードもありますので、それ以外の曲がどれかも押さえておきましょう。
