Report of Barney Tome’s sudden drop that was suddenly brought up last week. This week’s new master “MADISON SQUARE GARDEN 1982 (Shades 1032)”, which the prestigious “Krw_co” announced in honor of him, has also appeared, but another masterpiece recording has been prepared. It is an urgent gift release decision.
The masterpiece is “April 2, 1982 Boston show”. It is a valuable audience recording. Barney played with Ozzy only seven shows. The details will be given to the commentary of “MADISON SQUARE GARDEN 1982”, but first let’s confirm the show position on that date.

“March 19: Death of Randy Rose”
× March 20-30: 8 performance cancellations
・ April 1: Bethlehem (Burney First Day)
・ April 2: Boston [This work] ・ April 3: New Haven
・ April 5 “MADISON SQUARE GARDEN 1982”
・ April 6: Providence
・ April 9: Buffalo
・ April 10: Rochester (Burney final day)
・ April 13: Binghamton (Blood First Day)

This is the flow from Randy Rose’s death to the first stage of Blood Gilles. “MADISON SQUARE GARDEN 1982” was a show that became a highlight even during the Barney era of foam, but the Boston performance of this work was the concert that will be the 2 performances.
The quality is a wonderful vintage sound. Although the outlook and clearness are standard audience recordings at that time, the outline of the performance is well-understood and well-balanced, so you can hear the essential Ozzy songs and Bernie’s guitars well. Above all, recordings that convey the heat of the venue directly are filled with a lively presence that looks like a live performance board. According to a review of foreign fans who actually watched the show on this day, the venue was full of crowds, and Ozzy was still standing in the crowd as a madman. Certainly, the reaction from the opening “Over The Mountain” is a great response from the audience, and the situation is depicted realistically. The audience cheering at the beginning of “Mr, Crowley” in particular is a spectacle by itself. “Crazy Train” bursts with such a spectacular performance as you hit the audience across the band. As a matter of fact, “Crazy Train” will take up the riff in his live even after Bernie’s turn to solo. It seems that it was an impressive song for him.
And with “Revelation” and “Steal Away” guitars like Barney’s cutting edge are very popular. Just after joining the band, I can’t imagine how fast they were, and it’s amazing that these songs are dyed up with my own sound. Also in “Suicide Solution” and the subsequent guitar solo, Barney is devoted to Jimi Hendriks, and he is devoted to heavy, rough play that incorporates feedback throughout.
For Ozzy, band members, and many fans, it may seem as if it was shaking off Randy’s shadow, and it may have led to the image of “not suitable for the band”. However, Bernie’s style of self-playing even for great predecessors is what a professional should be. Rather, it may be that the arrangement of the later Brad and Jake E. Lee was also accepted because Bernie was first embodied. Normally, “Goodbye To Romance” is played following this, but it is missing because of the tape change, and unfortunately it has not been recorded until the first half of “I Don’t Know” . But after that, it has been recorded firmly from “Believer” to Encore “Paranoid”, and you can enjoy the sequence of heavy numbers that these barney guitars look good.
