Wembley Stadium in 2000 is a gig that seems to be unlikely to be a gig whose contents are completely different on the first day and the second day in the live history of Oasis. On the first day, various official releases of “FAMILIAR TO MILLIONS” were realized, but on the second day, TV broadcasting in the rear tie was realized. Therefore, there are professional shot images for each of the two days of Wembley in 2000, but now I think that Liam will appear on the stage after being drunk on the second day, and it will be broadcast on TV. It became a situation that could not be done.

As Noel said at the time of the previous official release, “I never wondered which day to use … because the second day was terrible”, the two days were totally different. First of all, as mentioned at the time of the release of the limited press CD “MARSEILLES 2000”, the 2000 tour itself was a time that was often overlooked in the career of Oasis, but the first day of Wembley was also released with the previous title. As a result, although it was broadcast on TV on the second day, it has become a video that is completely difficult to obtain now.

Although it can be seen on YouTube because it is a TV image, the image quality is not deteriorated with the extremely compressed version. Also, although “2ND NIGHT IN A SHIT HOLE”, which has been circulating among traders in recent years, was far better than that of YouTube, it had the big drawback that the voice was monaural instead. However, this time, the Oasis researcher in the UK provided us with a version that has better image quality than “2ND NIGHT ~”, and above all, the sound is properly recorded in stereo.
Since the recording media was still broadcast in the VHS era, this version also has a slightly rough image quality from the current digital level, but it is still incomparable to YouTube and “2ND NIGHT ~”. For the above reason, there wasn’t a decent version on YouTube, so I’m sure there are many people who haven’t seen this video now.

What is this saying, but after all, the atmosphere is completely different from the day before, so there are a lot of things to see. オアシスのライブ史にあって、これほどまで初日と二日目で内容がまったく異なってしまったギグというのもそうそうないのでは…と思える迷演が2000年ウェンブリー・スタジアム。初日は後の「FAMILIAR TO MILLIONS」各種オフィシャル・リリースが実現しましたが、二日目に関してはリアタイでのテレビ放送が実現しています。よって2000年のウェンブリー二日間はそれぞれにプロショット映像が存在している訳ですが、二日目はリアムが泥酔した上でステージに現れ、しかもそれがテレビで放送されてしまうという、今では考えられないような事態となりました。
先のオフィシャル・リリース時にノエルが「どちらの日を使うかなんてまったく迷わなかった…二日目はひどかったからね」と発言したように、二日間がまるで違う演奏内容となってしまったのです。
まず2000年のツアー自体がオアシスのキャリアの中で見過ごされがちな時期であったことは限定プレスCD「MARSEILLES 2000」のリリース時にも述べた通りですが、ウェンブリーに関しても初日が先のタイトルでリリースされたことで二日目に関してはテレビ放送されたにも関わらず、現在ではすっかり入手困難な映像と化してしまいました。

テレビ映像ということから一応YouTube上でも見られるものの、極度に圧縮されたバージョンで画質の劣化が半端ない。また近年トレーダー間に出回った「2ND NIGHT IN A SHIT HOLE」はYouTubeのそれよりはるかに上質だったものの、代わりに音声がモノラルという大きな欠点を抱えていました。しかし今回イギリスのオアシス研究家から提供いただいたのは「2ND NIGHT～」より画質が良いのはもちろん、何より音声がちゃんとステレオで収録されているバージョン。
まだ録画メディアがVHSの時代の放送でしたので、今回のバージョンも現在のデジタルのレベルからすると若干ながら粗い画質ではあるものの、それでもYouTubeや「2ND NIGHT～」とは比べ物にならない見やすさ。先の理由からYouTube上でもまともなバージョンがなかっただけに、今となってはこの映像を見たことがない…という方も少なくないのでは。

こう言っては何ですが、何しろ前日とまるで雰囲気が違うので見どころの連続。リアムがどうしてここまで酔った状態でステージの登場したのか理由は定かではありませんが、登場するなりこのスタジアムがライブ・エイドの舞台となったことを思い出したのか「ボブ・ゲルドフ！ファッキン・シンプル・マインズ！」とまくしたてるテンションの高さ。
それでいて相当にぐでんぐでんな歌いっぷりが「Who Feels Love?」辺りから加速、また歌詞を飛ばしてしまう箇所まで散見されるほど。なるほどノエルが「どの日を採用するか迷わなかった」というのも当然かと。
おまけにリアムは演奏中も歌のないパートですらマイクに向かってまくしたてており、大人しくしているという事がない。「Gas Panic!」辺りから本格的にノエルに絡みだし、それをいかにも面倒臭い表情を浮かべる彼の表には爆笑。ところがリアムは酒の勢いもあってひるまず、遂には「Cigarettes & Alcohol」の前でノエルにキスしてみせるという（会場は大歓声が起こります）。以降はMCもまるで兄弟漫才の様相。アンコールになってもリアムは引っ込まず、他のメンバーが再び登場したのを見計らって引っ込むという有様。
それでもリアム以外のメンバーはあくまでプロフェッショナルに徹して演奏に没頭、観客も盛り上がるなど、それぞれがバラバラな振る舞いの空間と化しながらもライブとして成立しているのがまた面白い。とにかく最後までハイテンションで振り切れたリアムのふるまいが前日とはまるで別人。「Shakermaker」のエンディングではブルースハープを吹く仕草をみせるなど、本当に意味不明な（笑）アクションと発言の連続。
それ故に二日連続でここまで内容の違うライブがプロショット映像で記録され、なおかつ放送されたとは何と大らかな時代でしょうか。反面それだけ酔っていたリアムのルックスが凛々しいというのもこの年ならではであり、最後まで波乱万丈だった2000年ツアーを象徴するようなツッコミどころ満載の迷演を捉えたプロショット映像が画質も音声もベスト・バージョンにて登場です！
