NICK MASON’S SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS has evolved from the experience of the new project to the archival dimension. This is all of the show which was done to date. Here, the home country British performance was omitted and I wrote in detail only “Continental Europe of September”. This show’s Stuttgart performance is the 10th performances. It was a concert that was in the middle of Do of Germany 5 consecutive performances from Düsseldorf to Leipzig.
This work, which recorded such a show, is a superb recording that goes beyond simply a Completer. It is not as shocking as “PARIS OLYMPIA 2018 (Sigma 222)” that won the permanent preservation press indeed as it is, but because it is the world’s best PINK FLOYD standard. If it is another band / artist, it is a quality that is good enough to be converted into a press, the best, press. The best thing is, its neat sounding and balance. While plunging into the hands of plenty of hands on, details are delicate. It is neatly arranged from treble to heavy bass, all of which are very fresh. Even a snare’s sharp rise is sharp, and it is confirmed until silent. Although it does not seem to jump out like a surprisingly deep bass, honor student type which can be well balanced with every sound. To rephrase for the person who regards the word “honor student” as unpatentable, there is no fault. The perfectly balanced balance itself is an elegant beauty recording that becomes an intense personality.
Honest honor students have extended to not only performance sounds but also cheers. There is a huge cheers among the songs, but without close screaming, gentle applause spreading like a velvet elegantly like May Rain. The sense of space is extremely elegant. It is not hot enough to call it enthusiasm, and the mood to listen carefully is like a Japanese performance. It is supposed to be a single-shot audience, but it is a balanced feeling that makes me feel as though I’m listening to FM broadcasts that are precisely mixed.
Because it is drawn with such a balanced sound, it sounds elegant up to the show itself. The ensemble which started reaching the area of ​​the iron wall by stepping on the field number is really wonderful, and I feel I am not feeling tired because there is a day off from the day before. On the other hand, there is more certainty than the timing when the three consecutive days performance starts, rather than the good things like the last day. I think that it may be more wild to the psychedelic feeling of the initial FLOYD, but this is also a unique expression of a concert different by one performance.

All sounds including cheers are beautiful and well-balanced name recordings are wonderful. We have already introduced lots of live albums, and the crossover work “PARIS OLYMPIA 2018” has also appeared. It may be limited to the Completer to keep an eye on this work, but the quality of this work is too wasteful to call “one of the coma”. Harmonious beautiful sounds where the drawbacks can not be found at all. Please enjoy it carefully.

新プロジェクトの体験からアーカイヴの次元に進化したNICK MASON’S SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS。そんなコンプリーター垂涎の的となる大傑作ライヴアルバムが登場です。本作に記録されているのは「2018年９月15日シュトゥットガルト公演」。当店では、初期PINK FLOYD復刻プロジェクトの歩みを大きく３つ「５月の英国#1」「９月の欧州大陸」「９月の英国#2」に分類しておりますが、本作はその欧州大陸編から飛び出したオーディエンス録音。今週は超傑作『ZURICH 2018（Amity 489）』も同時リリースとなりますが、それも含めてコレクションを日程で整理してみましょう。

これが現在までに行われたショウのすべて。ここでは母国イギリス公演は省略し、「９月の欧州大陸」だけ詳細に記載しました。本作のシュトゥットガルト公演はその10公演目。デュッセルドルフからライプツィヒにいたるドイツ５連続公演のド真ん中にあたるコンサートでした。
そんなショウを記録した本作は、単なるコンプリーター向けを超えた極上録音。さすがに永久保存プレス化を勝ち取った『PARIS OLYMPIA 2018（Sigma 222）』ほど衝撃的ではありませんが、それは世界最高のPINK FLOYD基準だからこそ。他のバンド／アーティストであれば、十二分にツアー・ベスト、プレス化されてもおかしくないクオリティなのです。何よりも素晴らしいのは、その端正な鳴りとバランス。オンで手応えたっぷりの芯が手元に飛びこみつつ、ディテールも繊細。高音から重低音まで綺麗に整っており、そのすべてが非常に瑞々しい。スネアの一発でさえ立ち上がりは鋭く、消音まで克明。殊更にびっくりするような重低音が飛び出すようなことはないものの、あらゆる音の均整が取れた優等生タイプ。「優等生」という言葉を無個性と捉える方のために言い換えるなら「欠点がない」。その完璧に整ったバランス自体が強烈な個性となる上品な美録音なのです。
その端正な優等生ぶりは、演奏音だけでなく歓声にまで及んでいる。曲間では盛大な喝采が起きるのですが、間近な絶叫などなく、五月雨のように優しい拍手がビロードのように優雅に広がる。その空間感覚は、極めて上品。熱狂と呼ぶほど熱くなく、じっくりと聴き込むムードはまるで日本公演のよう。一発録りのオーディエンスのはずなのに、まるで精緻にミックスされたFM放送でも聴いているかのような気分になるバランス感なのです。
そんな均整サウンドで描かれるせいか、ショウそのものまで気品に輝いて聞こえる。場数を踏んで鉄壁の域に達し始めたアンサンブルは実に素晴らしく、前日が休みなせいもあってか疲れも感じさせない。その一方で最終日のような思い切りの良さよりは、３日連続公演が始まったタイミングならではの確実さも漂う。初期FLOYDのサイケデリック感にはもっとワイルドであっても良いと思いますが、これも１公演ずつ異なるコンサートならではの表情なのです。

喝采も含め、すべての音が美しく均整も素晴らしい名録音です。すでに多数のライヴアルバムをご紹介しており、頂点作『PARIS OLYMPIA 2018』も登場している。本作に目を留めるのはコンプリーターの方に限られるかも知れませんが、本作のクオリティは「コマの１つ」と呼ぶにはあまりにももったいない。欠点がまるで見つからない均整の美音。どうぞ、じっくりとお楽しみください。
