そのような土壇場の変更が起きたにも関わらず、ニールとクレイジー・ホースが聴かせる演奏のアッパーな様子には本当に驚くばかり。ツアー自体が三年続いているということが大きいと思われますが、それにしても一曲目の「Love And Only Love」から盤石な演奏が壮絶なのです。
久々に演奏された「Goin’ Home」は懐かしのフジ・ロックフェスティバル伝説のステージを思い出させますし、まるで「Don’t Cry No Tears」にそっくりなイントロが始まったので、これもフジロック再現？的な予感からニールが歌い始めたのは「After The Gold Rush」まさかのギター・バンド・バージョン。何ですかこれは？的な演奏に観客もびっくり仰天している様子が伝わってきますが、そんな形にアレンジしてみせても意外としっくりきているからさすがです
前半のこんな面白い演奏だけでも楽しめること請け合いですが、長く激しい「Love To Burn」に次いで演奏されたのは1974年ごろの未発表曲と言われる「Separate Ways」。マニアの方でしたらば1993年ツアーでの演奏を覚えている方も多いかと思いますが、このツアーにおいて再びレパートリーに復活して話題を呼んでいます。ところがこの日を含むツアー前半だけの演奏で終わってしまいましたので、今回のリリースにおけるレア・ナンバーと言えるでしょう。
一方で静かな曲、あるいはアコースティックな曲を演奏するコーナーは昨年や一昨年のツアーと比べて大増量。しかも「Only Love Can Break Your Heart」に「Heart Of Gold」という文句なしの選曲に加え、以前から演奏しているボブ・ディラン「Blowin’ In The Wind」のカバーまで加わっただから本当に魅力的です。この辺りのパートはニールのファンだけでなく、全ロック・ファンにもお勧めしたいほど。とどめはアルバム「ZUMA」からの「Barstool Blues」というさらにレアな選曲。こうした名曲が目白押しの構成によって、まったく中だるみしないセットリストとなっているのです。
そしてライブの終盤は「Who’s Gonna Stand Up And Save The Earth?」という新曲が演奏されますが、イントロの雰囲気はまるでレッチリの曲（笑）みたいに始まるのが面白いもの。その異色な曲調は新機軸と言えるかもしれません。しかし最後はビリーの回復を祈る意味でクレイジー・ホースのテーマ曲と言っても過言ではない「Down By The River」を演奏するという感動的なエンディングとなっています。ここ二年間のクレイジー・ホースとのツアーと比べてもさらに魅力を増したセットリスト、それ以上に全編を通して非常にテンションの高い演奏を極上音質にて封じ込めました。こうなると限定のプレスCDでのリリースは当然でしょう。何しろ素晴らしいライブでので、ファンに自信を持っておすすめします！
