“RUNNING OUT OF LUCK” was a masterpiece as a music movie while being known as a promo collection of the first solo album “SHE’S THE BOSS”. Introducing a definitive board set that compiles two Japanese original versions with the highest quality ever.
It goes without saying much about this movie. A musical work that puts all the songs of “SHE’S THE BOSS” into a clip image in 1985 and puts them together in one story. The scale of about 90 minutes including the story part is exceptional even in the music scene that has changed since “Thriller”, shooting with plenty of overseas locations, story line involving all songs without escaping to the world of dreams and imagination, etc. It was a masterpiece that was completely complete as a movie. Of course, it was sold as video software in 1986, and in 1988, when it first came to Japan, it was broadcast on TV under the Japanese title “Mick Jagger’s Weird Escape.” It was engraved in the minds of many fans and cultivated new fans.
However, such a masterpiece has not yet been officially made into a DVD. I don’t know if it was because he was co-starring with Jerry Hall, who was married at the time, but it’s a phantom masterpiece that has no hope of being officially reprinted in the future. When it’s not officially archived, the underground comes into play. This work is made into a DVD from the laser disc released at that time and Nippon Broadcasting System. It is a luxurious 3-disc set set with the highest quality ever. Let’s introduce each version individually.

[DISC 1-2: Highest quality board reproduced from Japanese board LD] The reason why this work is a 3-disc set while setting 2 types of sources is that the laser disc raising is a 2-disc set. As you know, unlike CDs and DVDs, laser discs were recorded on both sides of the back / front, but in this work, the highest quality was sought and it was luxuriously recorded as “front side = DISC 1 / back side = DISC 2”. That’s why. Furthermore, not only the capacity but also the selection of the source is the highest priority on quality, and the Japanese version laser disc is adopted. LD was attracting attention as a new media that surpassed VHS and beta, but Japan was the most actively developed and pressed with the highest quality in the world. “Analog video apex quality = Japanese edition LD” is no longer a common sense in the collector world, and this work is also made into a DVD according to that theory.
And another strength of the Japanese edition LD is Japanese subtitles. This video is a movie work that includes not only the song part but also the story part, so conversation is also important. While boasting the world’s No. 1 quality, this work vividly conveys the meaning to Japanese people. What’s more, there is a strong 80’s odor from words that are absolutely impossible in modern times, such as “I feel AIDS,” “Ojin is noisy,” and “You are angry.” We are making a DVD from the best / best and most exciting version.

[DISC 3: The Supreme Master of Nippon Broadcasting System, complete with lyrics and subtitles] DISC 3 following the ultimate quality Japanese LD wakeup is the greatest life of this work. This is the Japanese broadcast version released on the national specialty program “Thursday Road Show” on “March 24, 1988”, which was in the middle of Mick’s first visit to Japan. Moreover, the quality is transcendent. Recently, the video of Michael Jackson and Prince coming to Japan has been a big hit, but this disc is also the highest master by the same recording enthusiast. At the beginning, the legendary “Mick Jagger’s Weird Escape” telop is played, so it can be understood that it is a broadcast version, but far from tape twisting, the visual beauty without even one white line noise seems to be only a copy of the official software. In fact, it is a set with the highest peak Japanese LD version in history, but the image beauty is so beautiful that the quality difference cannot be discerned unless it is played back simultaneously on a computer.
Although it is beautiful, it is not one step ahead of the No. 1 Japanese edition LD on the planet, but it is the subtitles after Japan that make up for it. Although there were subtitles on the LD board, it was only the conversation of the story part. However, the broadcast version also has subtitles after Japan up to the lyrics of all songs.
This is more powerful than you can imagine. As I mentioned at the beginning, this movie is known as “SHE’S THE BOSS Promo Collection”, but the master-slave relationship is actually the opposite. First, the project for this work as a music movie was launched, and the solo album “SHE’S THE BOSS” was produced as the soundtrack. In other words, the lyrics of each song of “SHE’S THE BOSS” were in line with one movie plot. This broadcast highlights the story line that includes the lyrics and proves that “SHE’S THE BOSS”, which was just a collection of love songs, was a concept album.
Is it the easiest to understand, “She’s The Boss”? In the original lyrics, “You called me manly, so powerful, was I ever gullible.” “She’s the boss in bed, in my head.” ) ”Was read as if it was a woman’s obedience due to her fascinated weakness, but in the movie,“ boss ”is the mistress of the farm where Mick was forced into labor. She sang a nightmare in which she was forced to have sex service in the absence of life if she rebelled. Of course, the lyrics of the final version can be interpreted in any way, but in this work, the original meaning is exposed in the original image.
Furthermore, the heart of the Japanese broadcast version is a rich sense of the times. Not only the main part of the movie but also many nostalgic commercials are preserved tightly, where Junji Taka ○ self-identifies as “a man from 17:00” in his 30s, and part 3 touts “Dragon Quest” which caused a social phenomenon. Or, Gunma’s violence announces LAST GIGS (the live itself, not the album!). The best part is the telop of “I will tell you the news related to the’Shanghai train accident’from 2:55 (midnight)” that is often played during the program. Yes, it is a tragedy involving 193 Japanese people, including school trip students. This broadcast is exactly the day of the accident. I don’t know the details yet, and I’m drawing up to the reality of “March 24, 1988”, where all over Japan was sighing and waiting for a follow-up report.

The music movie “RUNNING OUT OF LUCK”, which was a masterpiece of Mick Jagger who challenged the era of the 1980s and even squeezed out the essence of “SHE’S THE BOSS”. It is the highest quality version of the Japanese version of the laser disc, and the key signature cassette of the Japanese broadcast version that brings back the feeling of the times when you first came to Japan. A 3-disc set that is more valuable than the studio work “SHE’S THE BOSS”. Please enjoy it to your heart’s content.

★ A 3-disc set that compiles two Japanese-specific versions of the music movie “RUNNING OUT OF LUCK” with the highest quality ever. This movie is a 90-minute video work that combines all the songs of the first solo work “SHE’S THE BOSS” into a clip video, and puts them together in one story. It is a masterpiece that has not yet been officially made into a DVD. Set with the highest quality version of the Japanese version LD, and the superb master of the Japanese broadcast version that returns to the feeling of the times when you first came to Japan. It is a big decision board that surpasses even the studio work “SHE’S THE BOSS”.

初のソロアルバム『SHE’S THE BOSS』のプロモ集として知られつつ、音楽映画としても傑作であった『RUNNING OUT OF LUCK』。

(You called me manly, so powerful, was I ever gullible)」「ベッドでも頭の中でも彼女がボス
