Introducing this time is the US original version of Primitive Cool, the nostalgic Mick Jagger’s 2nd solo album. It was a solo tour in 1988 that was realized after the release of this album. It may be easy to forget that the songs from the solo album were also played because many Stones numbers were played in all the performances including the dome performance that was dropped. Six songs (Throwawa, War Baby, Say You Will, Party Doll, RadioControl, Shoot Off Your Mouth) are played from this album in the Osaka performance at the beginning of the tour. Many of you may remember that the flow of Honky Tonk Women? Throwaway, which was the opening number, was very cool. Joe Satriani and Jimmy Lip played in the greasy era (I didn’t have the rumored Jeff Beck, but it’s a great play to listen to now!), And that live performance by Simon Phillips. Many fans will still remember. By the way, this Primitive Cool is the first solo album in 2 years since She’s The Boss released in February 1985, which is the first solo album. Unlike the works produced by the darlings of the era when the 1st album was Bill Laswell and Nile Rodgers, I feel that I was particular about my own production. Dive Stewart of Use Remix, who was a favorite person, has joined the production, but it seems to be Mick. This exchange continues from the soundtrack album of the movie Looseless People. The three single-cut songs are concentrated in the first half, which is the A side, but there are songs that cannot be overlooked even after the sixth song, which is the B side. The country-style Party Doll is very Mick-like. It is packed with fine works such as Let’s Work that incorporates Afrobeat, which was very popular at the time. By the way, Mick’s solo album including this work was re-released as an analog board all at once in 19 years, but this original US board can hear very high quality sound. The Matrix part is engraved with DMM and STERLING handwriting, which proves that the sound quality is too satisfactory. It’s not a hard-to-find record, but it’s not something you can always buy in mint condition. Of course, I am using the highest quality disc this time as well. 今回ご紹介するのは懐かしいミック・ジャガーの2ndソロアルバムであるPrimitive CoolのUSオリジナル盤です。このアルバムの発売を受けて実現したのが88年のソロ・ツアーだったのです。こけら落としとなったドーム公演をはじめ全公演でストーンズ・ナンバーが多数演奏されたためにソロ・アルバムからの曲も演奏されていたのは忘れがちかもしれませんね。ツアー序盤の大阪公演ではこのアルバムから実に6曲(Throwawa、War Baby、Say You Will、Party Doll、RadioControl、Shoot Off Your Mouth）が演奏されています。なかでもオープニング・ナンバーであったHonky Tonk Women?Throwawayの流れはとてもカッコよかったのをご記憶のかたも多いのではいでしょうか。脂の乗り切った時代のジョー・サトリアーニとジミー・リップが弾きまくり（噂されていたジェフ・ベックの帯同はなかったものの今聴いても素晴らし過ぎるプレイです！）、サイモン・フィリップスが叩きまくったあのライブを覚えているファンは今でも多いことでしょう。さてこのPrimitive Coolですがファースト・ソロ・アルバムである85年2月に発売されたShe’s The Bossから2年ぶりのソロ・アルバムとなりました。1stアルバムがビル・ラズウェルやナイル・ロジャースと言った時代の寵児達のプロデュース作とは異なり自らのプロデュースにこだわった感があります。お気に入りの人物であったユーズリミックスのディブ・スチュワートがプロデュースにも加わっているもののミックらしい。この交流は映画ルースレス・ピープルのサウンド・トラック・アルバムから続く流れです。シングル・カットされた3曲はA面にあたる前半に集中していますがB面にあたる6曲目以降も聴き逃すことのできない曲が揃っています。カントリー調のParty Dollはとてもミックらしい出来です。当時大流行していたアフロビートを取り入れたLet’s Workなどの佳作が詰まっています。さて本作をはじめとするミックのソロ・アルバムは19年にアナログ盤として一斉に再発売されましたが、このオリジナルUS盤はとても高音質な音を聴くことができます。マトリックス部分にはDMMとSTERLINGの手書き刻印が刻まれていることからも満足すぎる音質であることが証明されたようなものでしょう。決して入手困難なレコードではありませんが、かと言ってミント・コンディションのディスクはいつでも買えるというような1枚ではありません。もちろん今回も最上級のディスクを使用しています。この機会にミックのPrimitive Coolを再度お楽しみください！
