From the third Japanese tour that accompanied “Built To Destroy” in 1984, the 4-disc title titled Fan Audience that fully recorded the Shibuya public hall performance on January 21 and the Budokan performance on February 23, each with a superb audience recording, appears. Both performances are recorded directly from the first appearance original master cassette which has never been circulated among traders. Both are caught in the high quality of the highest level as this era, and heard and responded perfectly throughout. Shibuya source sounds fans will be crazy about the splendor of the sound quality of the first Captain Nemo guitar. 1984年「Built To Destroy」に伴う3度目の日本ツアーより、1月21日の渋谷公会堂公演と23日の武道館公演を極上オーディエンス録音でそれぞれ完全収録したファン必聴の4枚組タイトルが登場です。両公演とも、トレーダー間でも一切出回っていない初登場オリジナル･マスター･カセットよりダイレクト収録。どちらも、この時代としては上々のレベルの高音質で捉えられており、全体を通して聴き応え満点。渋公音源は最初のCaptain Nemoのギターの音質の素晴らしさにファンは狂喜することでしょう。全体の音像はやや詰まった感じですが、パーツのひとつひとつはしっかり聴き取れるので、全体の食い足りなさはありません。武道館公演はワイドでよりスマートな音像で、ギター同様にドラムもしっかり録音されているので、メリハリのあるサウンドでストレス無く聴き切ることができます。楽音のボリュームは渋公音源のほうが太くダイレクトにしっかりと録音されており、逆に、武道館音源はややステージからの距離を感じさる録音ですが、実際は全体がバランス良く収録されており、より完成度の高い優れた音像で楽しめます。長いツアーを経て、演奏のまとまりはピークに達しているようで、どの曲でもマイケルのギタープレイを始めとして、実に高品質なパフォーマンスを堪能することができます。武道館公演は終演後の場内の様子まで収録しており、懐かしいドキュメントになっています。充実のセットと演奏が魅力の1984年日本ツアーより、新たなる必携タイトルが登場です。

1984年1月に行なわれた、3度目の日本公演から、8公演目の21日-渋谷公会堂(現C.C.LEMONホール)と、10公演目の23日-日本武道館でのステージが良好なオーディエンス録音で収録した初登場のマスター・カセットからダイレクトにCD-R化された。このツアーは、仙台、静岡でのローカル公演を含む計12公演で、東京公演はツアー後半ではあったが、本来、最終日を飾ると思われる武道館公演の後に、静岡、名古屋の公演があった。まず、渋谷でのステージは、オープニングS.E.が流れると観客の歓声が溢れる中、パイロの炸裂音と、「Captain Nemo」のイントロが交錯してスタート。アルバム『Built To Destroy』のプロモーションにともなうツアーの為、セット・リストは前年(1983年)のイギリス・ツアーでのものをベースに、『Built To Destroy』の曲を入れ変えたものとなっている。キーボード・サウンドが効果的な「Captain Nemo」から「Rock My Nights Away」の流れは今聴いてもゾクゾクさせられる最高のオープニングだし、「Into The Arena」のイントロでのマイケルのギターのフィードバックも完璧で言葉も出ない。相変わらず、ヘタウマ(!?)のゲイリーのヴォーカルが何故かマイケルのギター・サウンドにハマっているのも神(=マイケル)のなせる業だろうか。終盤の「Armed And Ready」からアンコールを含む名曲の3連発には圧倒される。
武道館でのステージは、やはりツアーのハイライトの為か、オープニング前から観客の盛り上がり方も凄まじく、バンドもその期待に応えるかのように、「Captain Nemo」からマイケルのギターを筆頭に最高のプレイを聴かせてくれる。この日の「Into The Arena」ではキメのフレーズからのマイケルのソロも本当に流麗で素晴らしく、エンディングでの今にも音が外れそうなシーンではマイケルの気合の入り過ぎかと思わせる程の熱さを感じる。「I’m Gonna Make Me Mine」では音程の怪しいゲイリーも、この日は歌い出しをギリギリのところで頑張っている。アンコールの「Rock Bottom」でのマイケルのソロは、彼らしいフレーズが尽きることなく溢れ出して名演と言っても良いだろう。ラストの「Doctor Doctor」は観客の日本らしい手拍子も味わい深いが、そんなの我関せずとマイケルがエンディングまで弾きまくる。このツアーでベストなステージと言われる武道館と、渋谷のステージのセットだけに未聴のファンは是非チェックして欲しい。
