本作は、そんな“本来ならライヴアルバムにすべき……”を実現したもの。単に欠落部分を補完したフルショウ収録だけではなく、“本来の公式品”を目指してサウンドもグレードアップさせました。もちろん、大元の繊細さを損ねるようなマネはしておりませんが、元放送は発掘マスターをそのまま放送したのか、エコー感が過剰でややくぐもってもいた。本作では、CDで何度でも楽しむことを想定し、各音域を整理。すっきりと通りの良いサウンドにすると共に、重低音にも骨太感を持たせました。“放送でなく作品として世に出すならこうしたはず”・“現場のサウンドはこうだったはず”を忠実に再現したのです。

そのサウンドで描かれるショウは……もう聴いていただくしかない。希代の大名盤『MASTER OF PUPPETS』を創り上げたバンド・ポテンシャルはそのままに、小綺麗にまとめられていたスタジオ盤とはまるで違う豪放磊落なメタルの洪水。正直なところ、かなりラフで破綻寸前だったりもするのですが、それで萎縮しないから凄い。「だからどうした？」と言わんばかりに加速していくのです。
