MEGADETH in 2004, who stood up from the disbanded state and achieved a splendid revival with the masterpiece “THE SYSTEM HAS FAILED” after a long time. The best soundboard album is here.
The engraving on this work is “November 17, 2004 Detroit performance”. It is the highest quality stereo sound board recording. Chris Poland and Vinnie Colaiuta participated in the album, but after that, the team of Drover brothers & James McDonov started the tour. I enjoyed the pattern in the official works “THAT ONE NIGHT: LIVE IN BUENOS AIRES” and “WALDROCK FESTIVAL 2005 (Shades 854)”, but those were only in 2005. On the other hand, this work is a masterpiece of 2004. MEGADETH is back in order to imagine the situation in that area! Let’s look back on the big picture of “BLACKMAIL THE UNIVERSE Tour” that springs up in Japan.

● 2004
《September 14th release of “THE SYSTEM HAS FAILED”》
・ October 23-November 29: North America # 1 (29 performances) ← ★ Coco ★
● 2005
・ February 1-26: Europe # 1 (22 performances)
・ April 2-16: Japan / Australia (9 performances)
・ June 3-27: Europe # 2 (18 performances) ← * WALDROCK FESTIVAL 2005
・ July 15-September 11: North America # 2 (40 performances)
・ October 6-15: South America (4 performances) ← * Official THAT ONE NIGHT

This is MEGADETH in 2004/2005. “THAT ONE NIGHT” and “WALDROCK FESTIVAL 2005” were also in the latter half of the tour after coming to Japan, but this work was just after the kick-off of the restart. It was the 20th performance of “North America # 1”.
This work recorded at such a show is a stunning stereo sound board that you will fall in love with. Digital broadcasting, which was still scarce at that time, is recorded without deterioration, and its vivid and rich sound is completely official grade. The on-site mix is also wonderful, and each note of each instrument is beautifully separated, and the timing, breadth, and fineness of the cheers are 100 points.
However, even though the audio quality is official, it cannot be an official work. Even if the cheers are mixed, the essential performance sounds and vocals are directly connected, and they forcibly invade the brain. As a matter of fact, one of the twin guitars may have poor contact in the early stages such as “Set The World Afire” and “Skin O’My Teeth” (this is a mistake in the field mix, so no noise is generated). However, even that is raw, unprocessed and uncensored. Another thing to mention is a broadcast DJ. At that time, it was often thought of as a minus point, but this is a good feeling. Just put a word or two about the show itself and the announcement of the program between the songs, and do not talk about the length of South American broadcasting. It creates a real-time feeling that can be called a “radio album” without interrupting the live itself.
What you can enjoy with such a superb sound board is a full show that will revive. Speaking of the symbol of “BLACKMAIL THE UNIVERSE Tour”, the official “THAT ONE NIGHT” is the official “THAT ONE NIGHT”, so let’s organize it while comparing it.

● 80’s (4 songs)
・ Peace Sell: Wake Up Dead / Peace Deals
・ So Far, So Good: Set The World Afire / In My Darkest Hour
● 90’s (10 songs)
・ Last in Peace: Tornado Of Souls / Hangar 18 / Holy Wars … The Punishment Due
-Countdown to Extinction: Skin O’My Teeth / Sweating Bullets (★) / Symphony Of Destruction
・ Youthanasia: Reckoning Day / A Tout Le Monde
・ Cryptic Writings: Trust
・ Others: Angry Again
● The System Has Failed (6 songs)
・ The Scorpion (★) / Something I’m Not / Of Mice And Men (★) / Die Dead Enough / Kick The Chair / Back In The Day (★)
* Note: “★” marks are songs that cannot be heard even in “THAT ONE NIGHT: LIVE IN BUENOS AIRES”.

… And it looks like this. Even if it is the same tour, the set is different probably because the time is quite different, and there are plenty of new songs of “THE SYSTEM HAS FAILED”. Both aggressive and melodious songs are full of MEGADETH reminiscent of the golden age, but you can fully enjoy rare songs that were only played at that time except for “Kick The Chair”. In particular, “Of Mice And Men” is a delicious song that cannot be heard even in “WALDROCK FESTIVAL 2005”, and you can enjoy it on the official-class superb sound board.
The official live album “THAT ONE NIGHT” in the final stage of the tour is famous as “a show that decided to continue MEGADETH”, but on the other hand, this work is a “kick-off show” that started running with a bet on revival. It is a masterpiece of a live album in which the momentum and fresh tension are poured directly into the brain with a super vivid stereo sound board. A revival of MEGADETH, which is paired with “THAT ONE NIGHT”. Please enjoy it to your heart’s content.

You can enjoy plenty of delicious new songs from “THE SYSTEM HAS FAILED” such as “The Scorpion”, “Of Mice And Men” and “Back In The Day” that you can’t even hear in the official work “THAT ONE NIGHT”.
