KISS in 1974 jumped out to the world with his debut work “KISS”. Introducing a soundboard album that represents her first tour.
“April 18, 1974 Memphis performance” is included in this work. This is an FM sound board recording broadcast on the local radio station “WMC FM-100”. Speaking of 1974, it was the year of the start dash that ran through while releasing “KISS” and “HOTTER THAN HELL” in quick succession. First, let’s check the position of the show from the panoramic view.

“HOTTER THAN HELL TOUR”

・ October 22nd-December 31st: North America # 4b (37 performances)
This is KISS right after its debut. “KISS TOUR” can be roughly divided into three, but the main one is “North America # 2” which lasts for four and a half months. The Memphis performance of this work was the 18th performance of the concert. As mentioned above, this show was known for being FM broadcast, and its air check was loved as a sound board representing the early KISS. In fact, the sound is great enough to be a big staple. It’s not official grade because it becomes unstable in some places only for the Aircheck Master 45 years ago, but the basic quality is excellent. A sound board is the only way to create a clear and direct synchronization with your brain in every corner of your performance and singing voice. Especially, “100,000 Years”, “Black Diamond” and “Acrobat” in the final stage have no tape deterioration and can be called “official class” without any problem.
The contents of the show drawn with that sound are rich. The set is “a live performance version of the messenger from hell” … or “the prototype of ALIVE!”. Most of the set is the debut work “KISS” number, and “She” is sprinkled on it. The flow that starts with “Duece” and “Strutter” and reaches the highlights with “100,000 Years” and “Black Diamond” is exactly “ALIVE!”. You can see that the core of that daimyo board was completed immediately after its debut. However, the encore “Acrobat” that is played after turning around is rare. This is the original song of “Love Theme from Kiss”, also known as “You’re Much Too Yong”, and has been recorded only a few times. As I mentioned earlier, the tapes are stable by this time, and you can enjoy extremely rare songs on the exquisite sound board.
And the performance that plays such a set is also the “prototype of ALIVE!”. The scale and perfection haven’t reached that level yet, but the FM sound board, which has no overdubbing of loud cheers, is a direct connection, and the wild performance and the innocent singing voice are closely related. The freshness that grows day by day while inspiring the first full-scale tour life. The momentum in the middle of growth is dazzling.
It was introduced from the Shades label in the hope that only the Aircheck Master would discover a miracle upgrade, but 1974 was the time when even the official songs stopped a few songs. It’s too valuable to listen to such an early show on the soundboard for 42 minutes. A masterpiece sound board that is not strange even on a press CD in terms of historical significance. Please take this opportunity to thoroughly enjoy it.
