This is the “END OF THE ROAD WORLD TOUR” that has been announced so far. The original plan was to have a tight tour in 2020, but in March the blank slate was withdrawn. After that, only one “KISS 2020 GOODBYE” was realized. After that, there was no show, and it was in a state of sickness until the tour resumed in June this year.
“KISS 2020 GOODBYE” realized under such circumstances is a so-called unattended streaming concert. In 2020, various bands / artists performed in a similar format, which was KISS. Even if such unattended concerts were bundled together, we had a super-spectacle stage that couldn’t be beaten. After all, from the scene, it’s super gorgeous. The stage, which took advantage of the lack of seats, stretches for about 76 meters, and while carrying a huge screen on the back, a huge “Atlantis the Palm” lit up instead of the seats rises in front. .. A tremendous number of laser beams, LEDs, and the latest projection mapping go crazy in a space where the entire hotel grounds are like a stage.

そんな“KISS 2020 GOODBYE”が実施されたのは、くそったれな１年にトドメを刺した大晦日「2020年12月31日アラブ首長国連邦」。ドバイの高級ホテル“アトランティス・ザ・パーム”に設営された野外ステージでした。KISSは2019年から最後のツアー“END OF THE ROAD WORLD TOUR”を実施中でしたが、新型コロナ・パンデミックを受けて中断。現在では2021年の日程も発表となり、ツアー再開に向けて着々と準備が進んでいます。そんな彼らの近況を知る意味でも、まずはワールド・ツアーの全体像から振り返ってみましょう。

これが現在までに公表されている“END OF THE ROAD WORLD TOUR”。当初の計画では2020年もびっしりツアーの予定が詰まっていたのですが、３月に入って白紙撤回。その後に実現したのは“KISS 2020 GOODBYE”の１回だけ。その後もショウはなく、今年６月のツアー再開が実現するまでオアズケ状態なのです。
そんな中で実現した“KISS 2020 GOODBYE”は、いわゆる無観客のストリーミング・コンサート。2020年には様々なバンド／アーティストが同じような形式のパフォーマンスを行いましたが、そこはKISS。そんな無観客コンサートが束になっても敵わない超スペクタクルなステージをブチかましたのです。何しろ、現場からして超ビッカビカの豪華絢爛。客席がない事を逆手に取ったステージは約76メートルにも及び、背面には超巨大スクリーンを背負いつつ、正面には客席の代わりにライトアップされた巨大な“アトランティス・ザ・パーム”がそびえ立つ。ホテルの敷地が丸ごとステージになったような空間をとんでもない数のレーザー光線やLED、最新プロジェクション・マッピングが舞い狂うのです。
そして、その光の狂乱を制圧するのが100万ドル相当のパイロ。コレが文字通り「世界一」でして、ギネスブックに「音楽コンサートで吹き上がった最も高い炎」と「音楽コンサートで同時に吹き上がった炎の数」として正式に認定されたのです。そんな世界No.1・音楽史上No.1な光景は50台以上のカメラで撮影されて生配信。本作は、そんな配信マスターをDVD化したものなのです。もちろん、そのクオリティは超ド派手。生配信のせいか動きにコマ落ち気味な印象もありますが、それは映し出される光景があまりにも超スペクタクルなためにアラ探しをしてしまうのかも知れません。それほどまでにド迫力であり、画質／音質共に所謂ブートレッグ基準ではないのです。
