Introducing the finest version of the classic professional shot that has represented the “MAIN OFFENDER Tour”. The Aircheck Master, which has never been released before, is a new excavation.
This work was shot at “February 13, 1993 Boston performance”. This is the multi-camera pro shot. I’m not a terrestrial sect, so nostalgic commercials aren’t fun, but that’s why the real thrill of a seamlessly uninterrupted live is even more wonderful, and the sense of stability that doesn’t shake suddenly is also strong. The perfection of the work far exceeds the Michael / Prince edition. And the beauty of the image, which is the biggest attraction, is also enormous. I don’t have the courage to affirm “the highest peak in history” because there are so many classic and innumerable masters, but empirically I want to affirm with all my strength. There is no noise so far, the edges of each telop character are vivid, Keith’s skin gloss is super-realistic, and in addition, the sense of stability is tremendous … I have never seen such a master.
The show drawn with the beauty of the image … It is no longer necessary to put it into words. However, the various standard pro shots were the 1992 show, and this work has a different set. Since our shop is not the Guinness World Records, we are not in a position to certify it as “the best in the world”, but this work must be the highest peak version of the Japanese broadcast version with vivid Japanese subtitles up to one character.  そんな本作が撮影されたのは「1993年2月13日ボストン公演」。そのマルチカメラ・プロショットです。このショウは北米のケーブルテレビで中継されたことでも知られ、数々の既発を生んできた定番中の大定番。本作もまたそうした放送プロショットではあるのですが、本国放送ではなく、日本の某衛星放送局の開局二周年を記念して放送されたもの。キースのMCに「よお、ボストンのみんな」「土曜の夜だぜ」「ワルいのはどいつだ?」等々の日本語字幕がグッと来る特番バージョンです。
 また、“MAIN OFFENDER Tour”と言えば、ブエノスアイレス公演やケルン公演、VH-1の“CENTER STAGE”といったプロショットもお馴染み。そうした映像群との関係を整理する意味でも、当時のスケジュールから始めましょう。

 これが『MAIN OFFENDER』にまつわる活動概要。1992年は欧州ツアーを中心に特別パフォーマンスをこなしており、年の改まった1993年は全米ツアーを実施しました。本作のボストン公演は、そんな活動の終盤に差し掛かった辺り。「北米」レッグ14公演目にあたるコンサートでした。
 前述の通り、そんなショウは無数の既発を生んできた大定番。本稿に目を留められた方なら1本くらいは目にされたことがあるでしょう。本作は、そんな大定番でありながらこれまで人目に触れることのなかった門外不出のエアチェック・マスターなのです。しかも、記録したのがタダ者ではない。当店では国内の記録マニアによる極上マスターで音楽場組の数々をアーカイヴしておりますが、本作もそんなコアマニアの手によるもの。最近のリリースで言うならマイケル・ジャクソンの大ヒット作『JAPAN TOUR ’87』やプリンスの『TOKYO DOME 1990: Re-Broadcast Edition』でピンと来る方も多いのではないでしょうか。あの超絶な映像美を成し遂げたマニアの最新作なのです。
 実際、本作の映像美はマイケル/プリンスに対するキース版と言えるもの。地上派ではないので懐かCMの面白さはありませんが、だからこそシームレスに途切れないライヴの醍醐味は一層素晴らしく、ビシッと揺るがない安定感も強烈。作品然とした完成度がマイケル/プリンス篇を遙かに超越するのです。そして、最大の魅力である映像美も絶大。あまりにも定番で無数のマスターが存在するだけに「史上最高峰」を断言する勇気が湧かないのですが、経験的には全力で断言したい。ここまでノイズがなく、テロップ1文字1文字のエッジが鮮やかで、キースの肌艶まで超リアル、加えて安定感まで絶大……こんなマスターは観たことがありません。
 その映像美で描かれるショウは……もはや言葉にするまでもないでしょう。ただ、各種定番プロショットは1992年のショウでしたし、本作はそれらとはセットが異なる。ここではもう1つの象徴である1992年ケルン公演のプロショットと比較してセットを整理しておきましょう。

 キースの人生でもソロとして特別な輝きを放っていた『MAIN OFFENDER』時代。その象徴となるマルチカメラ・プロショットの初登場&超極上マスターです。当店はギネス協会ではないので「世界一」を認定する立場にありませんが、本作は日本語字幕の1文字まで鮮やかな日本放送バージョンの最高峰版には違いない。本来であれば、永久保存プレス化が相応しい1枚。どうぞ、心の趣くまま、存分にお楽しみください。
