Headless, the highest jazz collector’s label, has reissued the valuable titles of handmade labels for collectors, which were distributed only in a small part, from the official master who took over. Hawk is here. Rare titles are re-appearing at affordable prices with reissue emblems and newly refurbished back jackets.

It is a live sound source of the cooperative quartet led by John McLaughlin. Among the members in the jazz-rock direction (or almost the Mahavishnu Orchestra), the one that stands out is the bass Jack Bruce. That’s right, you know the cream person. However, he participates in Tony Wilams’s lifetime with McLaughlin, and there are many jazz-oriented shunt sessions such as Larry Coryell. And his unique bass sound has an outstanding presence. This sound source was recorded by the audience, but I’m happy to say that the bassline is beautifully recorded. It is a sound source that you can enjoy from the perspective of what happens when Jack Bruce joins the Mahavishnu Orchestra.

ジョン・マクラフリンの率いる協力カルテットのライヴ音源です。ジャズ・ロック方向のメンバー（というかほぼマハヴィシュヌ・オーケストラです）の中でひときわ目を惹くのはベースのジャック・ブルース。そうです、ご存知クリームの人です。しかし彼はマクラフリンと共にトニー・ウィルアムスのライフタイムに参加したり、ラリー・コリエルなどジャズ方向からのミューシャントのセッションも多いのです。そしてその独特のベース・サウンドは存在感抜群。この音源はオーディエンス録音されたものですが、嬉しいことにベースラインがキレイに録れています。マハヴィシュヌ・オーケストラにジャック・ブルースが加入したらどうなるのか、的な観点からの楽しめる音源です。
