Following the “STOCKHOLM 4TH SEPTEMBER 1967,” in which the incredible 1967 audience recording surprises enthusiasts all over the world, this is an appearance of an audience album containing the 1967 Stockholm show again.
To tell you the truth, Jimi in Stockholm in 1967 is a treasure trove of good audience recordings, and the sound source to be introduced this time is also a terrific sound quality. However, since it is live with the experience of the times where the time of the stage is still short, I coupled two shows this time. It is the familiar Krw_co that released it on the Internet. The height of the quality has been proven in the previous release, but this time also based on the sound source via the reel tape from the master cassette (reel is the second generation).
First of all, the stage in Stockholm on May 24 is recorded. Jimi’s party on this day was a busy day because it was before the break. First, after two live performances with the recording of the music program “Popside” (you can see it with great image quality and performance on YouTube), you can do two short stages at “Dans In” This is the sound source that captured the show that went to “Stora Scenen” above, and those venues are the same as the “4TH SEPTEMBER 1967”. As you can see from that, this sound source is also an audience recording recorded by the same taper.

The quality has been proven in the previous release, but this May stage is also a great sound quality. It is impressive that you have captured the stage just before the break with so much quality. Because of the height of that level, as with the sound source on September 4, there is a track record released from the gray zone official “HENDRIX LIVE IN SCANDINA VIA VOL. 1” box set as well as the boot. However, this sound source is also the oldest sound source for the Stockholm performance of Jimi, and also has troubles like a vintage audience. It was a pitch upset, not only low, but also unstable. This is the item that recorded this sound source so far, there is no title that solved this problem. To be clear, this problem was being obscured. So this time, I thoroughly adjust that instability. It was as easy to hear as if there was no problem and the exact pitch was obvious. Although it is fine-tuned, it also eliminates the slightly clogged texture unique to vintage audiences.

Even so, I can not help but be surprised that the stage of the experience in May, not in September, was captured with such a realistic and clear sound quality. Besides that, it’s really fresh, compact and playful and compact (in a good sense). The opening “Foxy Lady” suffers from common problems with 60’s rock live performances such as upset vocals and microphones, but then the live is developed with a balance in which you can hear Jimi’s lead vocal and Noel’s back chorus. Since it is still popular before it explodes in Montare, it is really compact and yet powerful performance.
In addition to them, the audience is excited when Jimi announces the song title of “Purple Haze”. Even from this scene, it captures the air of the group’s best time, as the song has become a hot topic and its popularity is rising rapidly.

On September 11th, “4TH SEPTEMBER 1967” is just one week after the show, and it is an audience recording similar in sound tendency. The balance of the whole performance is very good (it seems to be able to use good equipment now) after getting a success, but Jimi’s vocals are in a state of being pressed. As this is not a level that is fortunately wiped out, it can be enjoyed with a clear sound quality this time, which is unbelievable, as with “4TH SEPTEMBER 1967”.
Of course this sound source is also a sound source released in the past in “HENDRIX LIVE IN SCANDINAVIA VOL. 1”, but it is overwhelmingly easy to hear a sense of stability that can not be compared with it. After all, it had both the basic pitches of the vintage audience and the instability and instability, so this is also thoroughly adjusted.
This is also a great sound quality, so a high-pitched performance has been spreading since a week ago. The point is that the latest single “Burning of the Midnight Lamp”, which was not taken up on the 4th stage, is heard here. Generally speaking, live music on the 5th (live premiere) is famous when speaking of the live of the same period when this music was played, but the attractiveness of the music is felt sufficiently because the sound quality of this audience recording is good. It was a song with a short life span as a repertoire, so it captures more valuable scenes.

1967年のオーディエンス録音だとはにわか信じがたいほどのクオリティが世界中のマニアを驚かせている「STOCKHOLM 4TH SEPTEMBER 1967」に続き、再び1967年のストックホルム公演を収録したオーディエンス・アルバムの登場です。
実を申しますと1967年のストックホルムでのジミは優良オーディエンス録音の宝庫でして、今回紹介する音源がまた凄まじい音質。それでいてステージの時間がまだ短い時代のエクスペリエンスとのライブですので、今回も二つのショーをカップリングしました。それをネット上に公開してくれたのは今回もおなじみKrw_co。そのクオリティの高さは前回のリリースで証明済みですが、今回もマスター・カセットからリール・テープを経由した（リールはセカンド・ジェネレーション）音源を元にしました。
まず最初に収録されているのは5月24日のストックホルムでのステージ。この日のジミ一行はブレイクを果たす前ということもあって多忙な一日でした。最初に「POPSIDE」という音楽番組の収録で二曲のライブ演奏を披露（YouTubeにて素晴らしい画質と演奏にて見られます）したのち「Dans In」にて二回のショート・ステージもこなし、その上で「Stora Scenen」行ったショーを捉えたのがこの音源であり、それらの会場は「4TH SEPTEMBER 1967」と同じ場所。そのことからも解るように、今回の音源も同じテーパーによって録音されたオーディエンス録音なのです。

そのクオリティは先のリリースで証明済ですが、この5月のステージも素晴らしい音質。ましてやブレイク直前のステージをよくぞこれほどのクオリティで捉えていたものだと感心させられます。それだけのレベルの高さゆえ、9月4日の音源と同様にブートはもとよりグレーゾーン・オフィシャルの「HENDRIX LIVE IN SCANDINAVIA VOL. 1」というボックスセットでリリースされた実績があります。ところがこの音源、ジミのストックホルム公演としては最古の音源ということもあり、ビンテージ・オーディエンスらしいトラブルも抱えています。それがピッチの狂いで、ただ低いだけに留まらず、なおかつ不安定に変動していたということ。これまで本音源を収録したアイテムで、この問題を解消していたタイトルは皆無。はっきり言ってこの問題はおざなりにされていました。そこで今回はその不安定さを徹底的にアジャスト。まるで問題がなく、正確なピッチが当たり前であるかの如く聞きやすくなりました。また微調整ではありますが、ビンテージ・オーディエンスならではの微妙に詰まり気味な質感も解消。

それにしても9月でなく5月のエクスペリエンスのステージがこれほどリアルでクリアーな音質で捉えていたことに驚きを禁じ得ません。それに何と言ってもタイトで（いい意味で）遊びのないコンパクトな演奏が実に新鮮。オープニングの「Foxy Lady」ではボーカル・マイクの不調という60年代ロックライブにありがちなトラブルに見舞われますが、その後はジミのリードボーカルやノエルのバックコーラスもバッチリ聞こえるバランスでライブを展開。まだモンタレーで人気が爆発する前ですので、とにかくコンパクト、なおかつ勢いのある演奏が本当に素晴らしい。
それらに加えて感動的なのが、ジミが「Purple Haze」の曲名を告げると観客が沸き上がるところ。この光景からも、同曲が話題となって人気が急上昇しているという、グループにとって一番いい時期の空気感すら捉えてくれているのです。

9月11日の方は「4TH SEPTEMBER 1967」からちょうど一週間後のライブということもあり、音の傾向も似たオーディエンス録音。成功を手にした後ですので演奏全体のバランスは非常に良い（良い機材を使えるようになったのでしょう）のですが、ジミのボーカルは押され気味という状態。これが幸いにもかき消されるようなレベルではないので、「4TH SEPTEMBER 1967」と同じように67年の録音とは思えないほどクリアーな音質で今回も楽しめます。
もちろんこちらの音源も過去に「HENDRIX LIVE IN SCANDINAVIA VOL. 1」でリリースされた音源ですが、それとは比べ物にならない安定感が圧倒的に聞きやすい。やはりこちらもビンテージ・オーディエンス特有の基本的なピッチの狂いと不安定さの両方を抱えていましたので、こちらも徹底的にアジャスト。
こちらがまた素晴らしい音質ですので、一週間前から引き続いてテンションの高い演奏が冴え渡っています。何と言ってもここでは4日のステージでは取り上げられなかった当時の最新シングル「Burning of the Midnight Lamp」が聞かれるのがポイント高い。この曲を演奏した同時期のライブと言えば一般的には5日のラジオ放送（ライブ初演）が有名ですが、こちらのオーディエンス録音も音質が良いので十分に曲の魅力が感じられます。レパートリーとしては寿命の短い曲でしたので、なおさら貴重な場面を捉えてくれたものです。

そして前回の「STOCKHOLM 4TH SEPTEMBER 1967」は同じ日に行われた二回のステージを収録していましたが、今回はストックホルムながらブレイク前とブレイク後というビフォアフター状態のステージが一枚のディスクで楽しめるのも大きな魅力。とにかく音が良いので、コンパクトな演奏が際立つ5月と、人気が爆発して演奏にはっきりと自信が現れている9月の違いが実に解りやすく楽しめます。「Hey Joe」に至っては5月だけでなく9月においてもまだ素直でコンパクトな演奏ですので、まるで「ギターが異様に上手い歌モノ」60年代ロックライブとしても楽しめる貴重音源のリリース。今回も活きのいいジミ達の演奏を驚くほどの高音質で楽しんでください！
