A masterpiece “JIMI HENDRIX” in a music movie masterpiece that remains in rock history. The precious Japanese broadcast version is the gift release decision. There are many Jimi movies, and in later years, a story reproduction tory played by an actor was made, but this work is different. A successor tribute movie produced by director Joe Boyd and released three years and three months after Jimi’s death. It is a documentary that depicts the phenomena of Jimi’s life and the times by repeating the testimonies of the person and the people concerned.
[Nippon Broadcasting System version is also a must-see commentary corner]
This movie was officially made into a DVD and is still being handed down, but this work is not a copy of the official product. This version was broadcast on a certain music channel on cable TV in 2007. Its features are the program’s unique Japanese subtitles and commentary corner. At our shop, we archive various Japanese music programs, but this work has a strong unique color. The importance of subtitles is the highest only in documentary films, but the commentary corner has a stronger impact than that. It takes about 6 minutes before the main part of the movie and about 4 minutes after the end, but it is not only long but also Tokuno. The guide is Mr. Ma * faden Jesse Solato. The news that he was arrested last year for possession of marijuana and cocaine, a rock musician whose father is a famous Japanese guitarist, was also talked about. Mr. Jimi Hendrix explained about the movie, but this is already intense. At the time of this broadcast, he is 27 years old, but he is mostly a high school rapper, or a late-night program “Count Down TV”. The straight youthfulness and the faint anachronistic feeling of 13 years ago make my spine tickle, but as I get used to it, the strange freshness becomes dazzling. He says, “It’s 2007, but it’s a 1973 movie,” but Jimi’s presence is timeless and grabs the hearts of young people. I miss the honesty that I felt decades ago, when I said that shock while keeping it fresh. Quiet talk break. Mr. Jessie ○ is just a guide. The main part of this work is the legendary music movie itself. I think that many people have seen it on some occasion because it is a very famous movie, but it is still a masterpiece. “Hear My Train a’Comin'”, which uses legendary images such as Monterey Pop Festival, Woodstock, Isle of Wight Festival, Berkeley Concert, etc. and sings with a 12-string acoustic guitar, is also super beautiful. [Jimi’s life, which was a “phenomenon” that involved the times]
Such live footage is fragmented and not as good as individual footage, but even that is a wonderful interview that treats it as a “material” and connects it. Bandmates such as Mitch Mitchell, Billy Cox, and Buddy Miles, as well as great figures of the same era such as Little Richard, Pete Townshend, Eric Clapton, and Mick Jagger talk about the “phenomenon” of Jimi Hendrix. .. Is it the TV program “Dick Cabet Show” in which Jimi appeared that gives a particularly rich sense of the times? The program host was exposed to the perspective of ordinary white people at the time, and Jimi could only be seen with keywords such as “black”, “rock”, and “guitar breaking”. The greetings also ask, “What does it mean to destroy?” And ask questions with zero understanding, such as “Is that clothes in the military?” And “Isn’t it a strange life?” He also rushed into Woodstock’s American national anthem, saying, “Letter of protest. Even if you respect the nation, if you don’t play it legitimately, you will naturally be inundated with complaints.” I thought it was a beautiful study, “and the station studio gave a big cheer. From such an exchange, “Jimi as seen by ordinary American citizens” outside the history of rock can be seen through, and the era itself when he was sweeping is highlighted. Furthermore, lovers such as father Al Hendrix, Fein Prijon, Monica Danneman, Linda Keith, Allen brothers, etc …. People who ran alongside Jimi’s life became his real face and people, and music I will talk. Each of those words also brings to mind the short, burnt-out life of Jimi.
Jimi Hendrix was a symbol of rock guitarist. The essence of this is left in numerous concert footage, but at the same time he was also a “phenomenon” that drove the era itself. A masterpiece of a biographical film that emphasizes the presence that cannot be conveyed by live images alone, and conveys the entire era and way of life that surrounded him. Please take this opportunity to fully enjoy the valuable Japanese broadcast version.
