ジェームズ・ブラッド・ウルマーのサウンドボード・ライヴ音源です。ウルマーと言えばオーネット・コールマン門下生で独自のハーモロディック・ギターが人気のギタリスト。しかしそのハーモロディック・ギターが最も炸裂したのは1980年のアルバム『Are You Glad to Be in America? 』。2000年以降はいぶし銀のシブいブルース系アルバムのリリースが続き、ブルース・マン的存在感が大きくなっていました。しかしこのライヴ、2012年なのにかなりのハーモロディックっぷり。ワウ・ギターのゴニョゴニョした独自のバッキングに、一聴してそれとわかるヴォーカル。さらにゲストとしてクイーン・エスターがヴォーカルでスピリチュアルな色合いを加えています。そしてドラマーはまさに『Are You Glad to Be in America? 』のカルヴィン・ウェストン！ベースこそアミン・アリではありませんが、マーク・ピーターソンのチョッパー・グルーヴ感はアミン・アリが居るかと錯覚するほどハーモロディック・ギターと相性抜群です。また、ウルマーもかなり攻めたギターを弾いており、ソロではグランジかオルタナかといった爆発ぶり。ここに表されたソウルでもファンクでもジャズでもブルースでも無い趣こそジェームズ・ブラッド・ウルマーの音楽です。ボードで音質も抜群の為、ウルマー初体験の方にもお勧めです。
