本作最大の旨みはクオリティ。楽音が激近でサウンドボードのように超くっきり! 特にヴォーカルは凄まじく、ブルース・ディッキンソンはまるで卓直結サウンドボードのように耳元サウンドなのです。
いやはや、本当に凄い。録音者本人から直接提供されたオリジナルDATを使用したものですが、そうでなければサウンドボードかと思うところでした………というのは実は大ウソ。いや、ライン級サウンドもオリジナル音源なのも本当なのですが、本作には間違えようのないオーディエンス録音だけの凄味もしっかり&たっぷりとつまっているのです。その凄味とは、ズバリ大合唱! ド直球な演奏&ヴォーカルに、まるでミックスされたかのようにクッキリとした大合唱が乗るのです。その勢いと迫力は、とても日本とは思えないほどに凄い。特にオープニングの「Aces High」ではブリッジからサビにかけ、歌詞もキッチリと微塵も乱れない巨大な巨大な唱和が沸き起こる。ディッキンソンの煽りに応える「Hey!」も「The Trooper」の「Oh, oh oh♪」も、誇張でもなんでもなく、ゾワゾワッと鳥肌が立つほどの超迫力なのです。幾多のアーティストの無数のライヴ・イン・ジャパンを聴いてきましたが、これほど凄い唱和は聴いたことがない。正統派からブラック/デス、メタルコアに至るまで、あらゆるファン層を巻き込むIRON MAIDENだからこそ、それも大人気の“SOMEWHERE BACK IN TIME”だからこそ……それも頭では分かっているのですが、たぎる感情がついて行かない。いつから日本はここまで熱いライヴができるようになったのでしょう……。
