Actually, American performances of “KILLER WORLD TOUR 1981” were mostly JUDAS PRIEST and UFO ‘s undercard, only 40 minutes short shoes. In such a situation, their own full show was able to be made only 5 times in all 42 performances. The live of this work is one of them. Moreover, this “KILLER WORLD TOUR 1981” was the first world tour of IRON MAIDEN, this is the first time that they experienced the United States. IRON MAIDENは公式にアーカイヴの進んだバンドであり、ディアノ時代も多くのプロショット、サウンドボードが正式に復刻されています。しかし、そこから漏れているのが、有名な中野サンプラザ（「DEFINITIVE LIVE KILLERS」で収録）の他に２公演ある。それが本作に収められている「1981年４月28日ナイメーヘン公演（オランダ）」と「1981年６月26日ミルウォーキー公演（アメリカ）」です（ちなみに“1980年６月20日レインボウシアター公演”や“1981年３月31日レッジョ・エミリア公演”をサウンドボードとして取引しているコレクターもいますが、これらは極上ながらあくまでオーディエンス録音です）。どちらも古くから知られる定番音源で、ナイメーヘン公演は「KILLING TIME」「MADE OF…」「PHANTOM OF THE OPERA」、ミルウォーキー公演は「MAIDEN AMERICA」「SUMMERFESTIVAL」といった既発を生み出してきました。本作は、現在発見されている中で、両日のベストマスターを１つにまとめたものなのです。
まず登場するディスク１は、「４月28日ナイメーヘン公演」。中野サンプラザ公演決定盤「DEFINITIVE LIVE KILLERS」にも肉薄する堂々のライン・サウンド。大定番として長年愛されてきたのも当然の素晴らしいライヴアルバムです。残念ながらライヴをフル収録していませんし、曲順も実際のライヴとは違いますが、当時すでに人気を確立していたヨーロッパならではの熱演が鮮やかなサウンドボードで刻まれています（ちなみにこのライヴは大定番プロショットのBEAT CLUB出演の前日でもあります。このプロショットは「RAINBOW THEATRE 1980 FINAL（ZODIAC 160）」のボーナスDVDR「EUROPEAN KILLERS 1981」でお楽しみいただけますので、ぜひ）。
続くディスク２が「６月26日ミルウォーキー公演」。アメリカのフェスティバル“SUMMERFEST 1981”に出演した際のライヴです。こちらはディスク１や本編プレスCDに比べて１格落ちるサウンドなのですが、それでも十分にハイクオリティなサウンドボードです。また、このライヴは別の意味でも貴重。実は“KILLER WORLD TOUR 1981”のアメリカ公演は、ほとんどがJUDAS PRIESTやUFOの前座で、40分そこそこの短いショウばかりでした。そんな中で彼ら自身のフルショウができたのは、全42公演中５回だけ。本作のライヴは、そのうちのひとつ。しかも、この“KILLER WORLD TOUR 1981”はIRON MAIDEN初の世界ツアーで、彼らがアメリカを体験したのもこの年が初めて。そのため、本作ではアメリカ初侵攻の勢いがフルサイズで聴ける貴重なサウンドボードなのです。
