The “WORLD SLAVERY Tour”, which was the heyday of Bruce Dickinson and was called “the best tour of my life”. A super-best live album that will be the new masterpiece is born. Press 2CD will be permanently stored!
The engraving on this work is “November 2, 1984 Stockholm performance”. It is the transcendental audience recording. Perhaps the two points of concern for enthusiasts are “press CD” and “1984”. This tour is represented by the traditional work “Live After Death”, but it is generally accepted that the main performance of the 1985 Long Beach performance could not hide the tiredness of the tour and “it was 1984 that it was the real thing”. It has become. However, there is no decent sound board in the expected “1984 edition”, and the pinnacle of audience recording has been sought after. At our shop, we have carefully selected and pressed transcendental live albums such as “SLAVERY MASTER (Zodiac 002)” and “NEWCASTLE 1984 2ND NIGHT (Zodiac 392)”. This work is a new masterpiece that joins the line, and it is also a new masterpiece that renews the highest peak so far.

“October 14” LIVE AFTER DEATH “released”
This work recorded at such a show is a superb audience recording with a strong sense of directness. As a matter of fact, the recording itself has been known for a long time, and it was loved by the completers as “WORLD SLAVERY’s best recording”. However, this work is not such a conventional version, but the ultimate upgrade version that is directly digitized from the Omoto cassette that was excavated very recently. The upgrade is not good. Although it can be seen from the applause and applause that the recording is the same, it is foolish to compare the essential performance sounds. Even if you listen carefully with headphones, you can not feel the sound of the hall, and you can hit the vivid twin and the crazy gallop base at zero distance. For example, the middle part of “Rime Of The Ancient Mariner”. The moody bass arpeggio is super clear, and the guitar riffs that come in there are also very sharp! We have dealt with countless MAIDEN recordings, but I have never heard of such metallic notches. And the blues vocals. The feeling of the ears that makes me think “Is this IEMs?” To be honest, the Stockholm recording is such a famous recording that there was a plan to release it on a press CD for a long time, but it seems that a big upgrade of the Omoto cassette will be realized.
However, the traditional master of Stockholm recording is not so famous. If you want to make a reference for those who do not come to the point even if they are compared, is it the masterpiece “SLAVERY MASTER”? At the same time as the excavation, it was a masterpiece among the masterpieces that was talked about as “a great sound board (actually an audience) came out!”, But this work is more like a sound board than that masterpiece. [Super dynamic masterpiece that goes beyond the resurrection of the dead spirit] The super tight sound is drawn with a full show that demonstrates the true character of the golden tour. The set is also different from “Live After Death”, so let’s organize it while comparing it.

And after all, the best condition was dazzling. It has been a considerable number of venues with 58 performances since the start of the tour, but even this is less than 1/3 of the world tour as a whole. The ensemble has already been refined to the level of iron walls, but it has not reached the point where it is tired of tour life. In particular, the blues singing voice is a power-pushing system that is different from the delicate style since the 90’s, and the singing is super dynamic while having a great taste. You can fully enjoy vocalization that is far more powerful than “Live After Death” with zero-distance close contact sound.
Even so, it’s amazing. It’s a great sound. It must be an audience recording, but it’s a close-knit sound that feels the same as “Live After Death” while listening. And it is a terrible live album that you can get drunk with a big enthusiasm that far exceeds “Live After Death”. The pinnacle of climbing up by hitting the world with one’s strengths without any hesitation. And it’s a sense of fulfillment because it hasn’t been worn out yet. Although IRON MAIDEN has always been great, its climax was so high. A proof of sound that makes you feel it more eloquently than a hundred words. そんな本作に刻まれているのは「1984年11月２日ストックホルム公演」。その超絶級オーディエンス録音です。恐らくマニアの方々にとって、気になるポイントと言えば「プレスCD」と「1984年」の２点でしょう。このツアーは伝統作『死霊復活』に代表されているわけですが、そのメインとなった1985年ロングビーチ公演はツアー疲れが隠しきれず「本領発揮だったのは1984年」というのが通説となっています。ところが、期待の「1984年編」にはまともなサウンドボードが存在せず、オーディエンス録音の頂点作が求められ続けてきました。当店でも『SLAVERY MASTER（Zodiac 002）』『NEWCASTLE 1984 2ND NIGHT（Zodiac 392）』といった超絶ライヴアルバムを厳選してプレス化してきました。本作はその列に加わる新名盤であり、これまでの最高峰を更新してしまう新たな最高傑作でもあるのです。
そのクオリティが気になるところですが、まずはショウのポジション。これまでのプレス諸作とも併せてツアー全体像から振り返ってみましょう。

【大元カセットで大幅アップグレードした名録音】
これが1984年／1985年のIRON MAIDEN。本作のストックホルム公演はアルバム発売直後の「欧州#2」43公演目。『NEWCASTLE 1984 2ND NIGHT』の１ヶ月半後となるコンサートでした。
そんなショウで記録された本作は、ド直球なダイレクト感が強烈な極上オーディエンス録音。実のところ、以前から録音自体は知られており、コンプリーター達の間では「WORLD SLAVERY屈指の名録音」として愛されていました。しかし、本作はそんな従来版ではなく、ごく最近になって発掘された大元カセットからダイレクトにデジタル化された究極アップグレード版なのです。そのアップグレードぶりがハンパない。拍手や喝采から同じ録音だと分かるものの、肝心の演奏音は比較するのもバカらしくなる。ヘッドフォンで耳を澄ませてもホール鳴りが感じられず、鮮やかなツインもバッキバキなギャロップ・ベースもゼロ距離で叩きつけられる。例えば、「Rime Of The Ancient Mariner」中間部。ムーディなベースのアルペジオも超鮮明ですし、そこに入ってくるギター・リフもえらくシャープ！ 無数のMAIDEN録音を扱って参りましたが、こんなに金属感のある刻みは聞いた事がありません。そして、ブルースのヴォーカル。もはや「これ、IEMs？」と時代的にあり得ない事まで考えてしまうほどの耳元感覚。正直なところ、ストックホルム録音は以前からプレスCDでのリリース計画があったほどの名録音なのですが、まさか大元カセットの大アップグレードが実現しようとは……。
もっとも、ストックホルム録音の従来マスターはそれほど有名でもない。比較されてもピンと来ないという方のために引き合いに出すなら、名盤『SLAVERY MASTER』でしょうか。発掘と同時に「凄いサウンドボード（本当はオーディエンス）が出てきた！」と話題なった名作中の名作ですが、本作はあの名盤よりさらにサウンドボード的なのです。
【死霊復活を超える超ダイナミックな大名演】
そんな超タイト・サウンドで描かれるのは、黄金ツアーの本領発揮となるフルショウ。セットも『死霊復活』とは異なりますので、比較しながら整理してみましょう。

……と、このようになっています。ライヴアルバム版『死霊復活』ではカットされていたアンコールの「Sanctuary」まで完全収録され、公式にはシングルの細切れトラックしかなかった「Losfer Words (Big ‘Orra)」もフルショウの流れの中で楽しめるのです。
そして何と言っても絶好調ぶりが眩しい。ツアー開始から58公演と相当な場数をこなしているわけですが、これでもワールド・ツアー全体からすると1/3にも満たない。アンサンブルはとっくに鉄壁の域まで磨き上げられつつ、ツアー生活にうんざりするところまでは至っていない。特にブルースの歌声は90年代以降の繊細スタイルとは異なるパワー押しまくり系で、歌い上げも大味ながら超ダイナミック。『死霊復活』よりも遙かに強力なヴォーカリゼーションをゼロ距離ド密着サウンドでたっぷりと楽しめるのです。
それにしても凄い。凄いサウンドです。オーディエンス録音には違いないのですが、聴いている内に『死霊復活』と変わらなく感じるほどのド密着サウンド。そして、『死霊復活』を遙かに超える大熱演に酔いしれられる凄まじいライヴアルバムです。自らの強みを何の迷いもなく世界にぶつけ、登り詰めた頂点。そして、まだすり切れるほど消耗もしていないからこその充実感。常に偉大であり続けているIRON MAIDENではありますが、その絶頂はここまで高かった。それを百の言葉よりも雄弁に実感させてくれる音の証拠品。どうぞ、永久保存プレス２CDでいつでも、いつまでもお楽しみください！
