Finally started “LEGACY OF THE BEAST WORLD TOUR”. Early as “The Ultimate Greatest Hits!” While the topic is on the rise, its first report, a decisive finest live set appears.

【Disk 1-2: Super luxury set best live album】
First of all, it is a full recorded live album. This quality is also the first and ultimately exquisite. It is a superb sound recording like a sound board.
The contents of “LEGACY OF THE BEAST WORLD TOUR” drawn with that sound is amazing. It’s too amazing! From the opening runs out with “Churchill’s Speech / Aces High” and the super masterpieces of the ’80s are flowing into the cascade. The memory of “SOMEWHERE BACK IN TIME TOUR 2008-2009” will flash back, but this time it is slightly more versatile than that, it is quite luxurious. In the middle of the show will also show off the numbers in the Blaze era such as “The Clansman” “Sign Of The Cross” and “For The Greater Good Of God” “The Wicker Man”. What is more extreme is “Where Eagles Dare” and “Flight Of Icarus” of “PIECE OF MIND”! The former is the first time in 13 years and the latter is the first time in 32 years since 1986 !! In “MAIDEN ENGLAND TOUR 2012-2014” there were times when Dickinson could not sing “Aces High” sometimes, but this work is really brilliant. Perhaps, in “MAIDEN ENGLAND TOUR”, it was probably impossible to say “Aces High” in the encore after singing the full set in the first place. This time of pole position shows off stretching and a wonderful singing voice. Succeeding is the finest audience shot of the same Stockholm performance. Overseas maniacs carefully selected the best images for each song and assembled it, and edited it to full show tailoring. 遂に始まった“LEGACY OF THE BEAST WORLD TOUR”。早くも「究極のグレイテスト・ヒッツだ！」と話題沸騰中ですが、その第一報にして決定的な極上ライヴセットが登場です。
本作に収められているのは「2018年６月１日：ストックホルム公演」。その極上フル・ライヴアルバムをディスク１-２に、極上フル映像をディスク３に配した３枚組です。まずは、注目のツアー日程からショウのポジションを確認してみましょう。

以上、全38公演。当初「2019年まで続く」と発表されて注目されていたのですが、現在のところ追加の発表はありません。本作のストックホルム公演は、その４公演目。初日からさまざまな細切れ記録が出てきてはいたものの、遂に登場した極上・フル収録のオーディエンス・セットです。

【ディスク１-２：超豪華セットの極上ライヴアルバム】
まず登場するのはフル収録のライヴアルバム。このクオリティがまた一発目にして究極的なほど極上。オンで骨太な演奏音は距離感もなく目の前に叩きつけてきますし、各楽器のセパレートも完璧ならノイズもビビリもまるでない。さらに加えて、オーディエンス・ノイズも極少。ヘッドフォンでよくよく聴けば歌詞を唱和する観客にも気付きますが、大歓声のうねりが遠くに広がりつつ、極太の演奏音にかき消されそう。盛大に唱和をミックするオフィシャル作品よりよっぽど演奏の方が力強いバランスなのです。実のところ、公開された直後には一部で「いきなりサウンドボードかよ！」と騒ぎにもなった。もちろん、聴く人が聴けばオーディエンス録音なのは間違いないのですが、そうカン違いしてしまう気持ちも分かる……それほどサウンドボード的な極上録音なのです。
そのサウンドで描かれる“LEGACY OF THE BEAST WORLD TOUR”の中身こそが凄い。凄すぎる！　オープニングから「Churchill’s Speech / Aces High」で駆け出し、80年代の超名曲が一気呵成に押し寄せまくる。“SOMEWHERE BACK IN TIME TOUR 2008-2009”の記憶がフラッシュバックしますが、今回はそれより少し多彩で、グッと豪華。ショウの中盤には「The Clansman」「Sign Of The Cross」といったブレイズ時代のナンバーや「For The Greater Good Of God」「The Wicker Man」も披露する。さらに極めつけなのが『PIECE OF MIND』の「Where Eagles Dare」と「Flight Of Icarus」！　前者は13年ぶりですし、後者に至ってはなんと1986年以来となる32年ぶり!!　もちろん、６人編成になってから初めてのセット入りです。テンポを巡ってスティーヴ・ハリスが難色を示してきた事でも有名な曲ですが、遂に解禁となったわけです。
そんな豪華セットを演じるパフォーマンスも見事。先ほど“SOMEWHERE BACK IN TIME TOUR”を引き合いに出しましたが、あれから10年が経つというのに衰えなし。“MAIDEN ENGLAND TOUR 2012-2014”ではディッキンソンが「Aces High」を歌いきれない時もありましたが、本作は実に見事。恐らく、“MAIDEN ENGLAND TOUR”ではフルセットを歌った後のアンコールで「Aces High」というのがそもそも無理筋だったのでしょう。ポールポジションの今回は伸び伸びと素晴らしい歌声を見せびらかしてくれます。そこから爆撃音が轟き、「Where Eagles Dare」へと雪崩れ込む第二次世界大戦ソング２連発……もう、もう、総毛立つカッコ良さ！

【ディスク３：歴代No.1の仕掛けを目撃できる極上映像】
続くのは同じストックホルム公演の極上オーディエンス・ショット。海外マニアが１曲ごとのベスト映像を厳選して組み上げ、フルショウ仕立てに編集したものです。それだけに「アングルは○○」とひとくくりには出来ないのですが、全編を貫いて言えるのは「どれも極上」ということ。角度やポジションこそ異なるものの、どの映像も厳選されただけはある広々とした視界と超美麗画質が素晴らしい。しかも、音声も極上録音で一気貫通されていて統一感も十分。１発目にして「これ以上の客録作品はもうムリなんじゃ……」という超決定版なのです。
そして、映像だからこその面白さが爆発！　ゲーム『LEGACY OF THE BEAST』をモチーフにした仕掛けは豪華絢爛。「The Trooper」の竹馬エディやツアー独自の巨大エディはもちろんですが、さらに世界中が騒然となった話題となっている「Aces High」の巨大戦闘機（MOTORHEADより凄い！）、これまた巨大なイカロスが登場する「Flight Of Icarus」、ディッキンソンの持つ十字架が輝く「Sign Of The Cross」等々……衣装も仕掛けも間違いなく歴代ナンバー１の凝りっ凝りです。
さらに、本作はMAIDENとは思えないほどヤバいシーンも見られてしまう。それは大曲「Sign Of The Cross」。それまで快調にこなしてきたのですが、ブレイクから戻ったところで豪快にアンサンブルが崩れてしまうのです。進行を見失ったのか、機材トラブルか、エイドリアン・スミスのギターから異音が出てグッチャグチャ。今にも曲が止まりそうにまで乱れるのですが、拍だけを頼りにデイヴ・マーレイがソロを切り込んで何とか立て直す。ヤニック・ガーズも「大丈夫かよ？」という顔でエイドリアンを見ており、その最中ニコ・マクブレインは「これで入れ！」と言わんばかりにタイミングの打音を強めに叩く……。
エイドリアンだけでなく、「Run To The Hills」でヤバくなるのはデイヴ。ポジションでも間違えたのか、いきなりイントロでリフが出てこなくなってしまいます。まだ４公演目でエンジンがかかりきっていなかったのかも知れませんが、比較的安定感の高いIRON MAIDENにしては、かなりヒヤヒヤするシーンが極上サウンドで細部まで聴けてしまいます。

とにかく凄い。凄すぎる。クオリティも強烈なら、ショウの中身も超豪華＆仕掛け山盛り。当店では、前回の“THE BOOK OF SOULS WORLD TOUR”を多数のオーディエンス記録でレポートしましたが、正直言って本作ほどの録音も映像もなかったかも知れません。一発目にしてこんなに凄いのが出てきてしまってどうしよう……そんな超強力なライヴ・セットの一大巨編。どうぞ、徹底的にお楽しみください！
