INXS in 1988, who climbed up to the darling of the times with the famous board “KICK”. The superb original recording is now available.
The engraving on this work is “February 8, 1988 Leicester performance”. It is the transcendental audience album. Speaking of 1988, it was a great heyday when he came to Japan. First of all, let’s confirm the position of the show from the whole world tour that overrun the world by pulling the daimyo board.

This is the whole picture of the climax tour. The UK performance of “KICK TOUR” started in 1987, but resumed in February 1988, with the year-end and New Year holidays in between. The Leicester performance of this work was the third concert of “Europe # 1” that decorates the beginning.
This work containing such a show is a tremendous audience recording that makes you want to line up two or three “super”. It is made into a CD directly from the original cassette given by the recording person himself, but the recording person is the master “Crazy S.”. He is a world-renowned master who left a large number of masterpieces throughout the 1980s, but his heyday was, after all, stabbed in 1986-1988. The “Crazy S.” works for the past three years have been a series of high-quality sounds that are divine. This work is a transcendental recording that is the highest peak of such a master.
Actually, the sound of this work is strange. There is no doubt that it is an audience recording because it is the master of the person who recorded it, but the extremely on core is infinitely powerful, and the detailed details are just like the sound board. If you can’t feel the distance, it’s not cloudy or muddy, and it’s a wonderful sound that you would believe if you were told, “It’s an FM broadcast with real cheers.”
The show drawn with such transcendental quality is at the top again. After all, the scene where the strange “KICK” whirlwind has just begun to blow. In the set, all the songs of “KICK” except “Never Tear Us Apart” are performed in a grand manner, and the past repertoire is studded there. Even the past songs are full of singles from the hits “SHABOOH SHOOBAH”, “THE SWING” and “LISTEN LIKE THIEVES”. In fact, of the 21 songs in this work, “Shine Like It Does” and “One X One” are the only songs that are neither new nor single. Of course, we are also showing “I Send A Message”, which had a tremendous impact on the PV of the temple (a line of monks walking to the beat revives in my mind …).
It’s a “live performance version of KICK + α” show, but the on-site feeling of this work is not so much. The band potential that created the daimyo board is burned up by the wind of a big hit, and the momentum to the tremendous is blown. And the enthusiasm that witnessed the performance was amazing. As a reminder, this work features a very close performance sound and the late Michael Hutchence’s singing voice, which does not shake even a millimeter. However, a vast yellow enthusiasm spreads beyond the buzzing sound. As soon as the super-thick performance stopped and entered the MC, the voice of tearing silk flew from here and there, and the chorus of the hit song was thick (although small). Boosted by the enthusiasm, the hit songs are unfolded with even more heated performances …. This synergistic effect is exactly the moment of heyday and climax. It is full of the goddess’s smiling power as to whether many artists / bands can be experienced once in their lives.

INXS, which has reached its heyday, and “Crazy S.”, which is in the middle of its heyday. It is a masterpiece that was born because both the band and the recorder were enthusiastic. A live album where you can experience “100% Honsei version KICK” with the super high quality sound of the sound board while feeling the super-realistic climax enthusiasm that can not be done with the sound board. This is a cultural heritage of rock history that is no longer a friendly dimension such as “a good show with good sound”. That wonderful 1988 scent, please inhale to your heart’s content with this work.

大名盤『KICK』で時代の寵児へと登り詰めた1988年のINXS。その超極上オリジナル録音が登場です。
そんな本作に刻まれているのは「1988年２月８日レスター公演」。その超絶なるオーディエンス・アルバムです。1988年と言えば、来日も実現した一大全盛期。まずは、大名盤を引っさげて世界を蹂躙したワールド・ツアーの全容からショウのポジションを確かめておきましょう。

これが絶頂ツアーの全体像。“KICK TOUR”のイギリス公演は1987年から始まっていたわけですが、年末年始を挟んだ1988年２月から再開。本作のレスター公演は、その冒頭を飾る「欧州#1」の３公演目にあたるコンサートでした。
そんなショウを収めた本作は「超」を２つも３つも並べたくなる凄まじいオーディエンス録音。録音家本人から譲られたオリジナル・カセットからダイレクトにCD化されているのですが、その録音家こそかの名匠“Crazy S.”氏。80年代全般で名作を大量に残した世界の名手ですが、彼の全盛期は何と言っても1986年から1988年にトドメを刺す。この３年間の“Crazy S.”作品は神懸かり的な高音質の連発。本作は、そんな名匠の絶頂的でも最高峰となる超絶録音なのです。
実際、本作のサウンドは異様。録音した本人のマスターですからオーディエンス録音に間違いないのですが、極めてオンな芯はどこまでも力強く、詳細なディテールはサウンドボードばり。距離も感じられなければ、曇りも濁りもなく、「リアルな歓声を被せたFM放送だよ」とでも言われたら信じてしまいそうな素晴らしすぎるサウンドなのです。
そこまでの超絶クオリティで描かれるショウがまた頂点的。何しろ、ケタ違いな『KICK』旋風が今まさに吹き荒れ始めた現場。セットは「Never Tear Us Apart」以外の『KICK』全曲が堂々と大盤振る舞いされ、そこに過去のレパートリーが散りばめられる。その過去曲にしてもヒット作『SHABOOH SHOOBAH』『THE SWING』『LISTEN LIKE THIEVES』のシングル曲だらけ。実際、本作の全21曲のうち、新曲でもシングルでもない曲は「Shine Like It Does」「One X One」だけ。もちろん、お寺のPVが凄まじいインパクトだった「I Send A Message」も披露しています（ビートに合わせてしずしずと歩くお坊さんの列が脳裏に甦る……）。
まさに“生演奏版KICK＋α”なショウですが、本作の現場感はそれどころではない。大名盤を創り上げたバンド・ポテンシャルが大ヒットの風に煽られて燃え上がり、凄まじいまでの勢いが吹き荒れる。そして、その演奏を目の当たりにした熱狂の凄いのなんの。念押ししますが、本作は超間近な演奏音と故マイケル・ハッチェンスの歌声こそが主役であり、それは１ミリもブレません。しかし、そのぶっといサウンドの向こう側に黄色く広大な熱狂が広がる。超極太な演奏が止んでMCに入るや、絹を裂く声があちこちから飛びまくり、ヒット曲のサビを紡ぐ唱和が（小さいけれど）ぶ厚い。その熱狂に後押しされ、ヒット曲がさらに加熱した演奏で繰り広げられていく……。この相乗効果は、まさに全盛・絶頂の刹那。数々のアーティスト／バンドが人生で１度味わえるかどうかという女神の微笑みパワーに満ち溢れているのです。

一大全盛を迎えたINXSと、全盛真っ直中の“Crazy S.”。バンドも録音家も神懸かっていたからこそ生まれ得た大傑作です。サウンドボードではあり得ない超リアルな絶頂の熱狂を感じつつ、サウンドボードばりの超ハイクオリティ・サウンドで“本生100％版KICK”を体験できてしまうライヴアルバム。もはや「良い音で聴く良いショウ」等といった生やさしい次元ではないロック史の文化遺産たる１本。あの素晴らしき1988年の薫り、どうぞ本作で胸いっぱいに吸い込んでください。
