Graham Bonnet in 1988 returned to Japan in collaboration with “the fastest in the world” that transcends even Yngwie. Introducing a miracle live set where you can experience the two performances in their entirety.
IMPELLITTERI’s first visit to Japan is included in this work. The first public audience recording of “July 24, 1988: Tokyo Dome Performance” will be on DISC 1 (CDR), and the familiar “July 17: Power Station Performance” multi-camera pro shot will be on DISC 2 (DVDR). It is a set of 2 arranged. Let’s introduce each one individually.
It’s incredible just to hear another live performance from the precious Graham era, but the sound that conveys it is also wonderful. The band is far away from the “Big Egg” that has just opened. Rather, it is a super-powerful sound with a do-class core that does not have a sense of distance stuck in front of you, as if your cheeks were slapped by the sound. As a matter of fact, the drums are too powerful and the tapping sound seems to overpeak, but it still does not crack or become noise. And the vocals that squeeze through the powerful beats are super clear to each word of the lyrics, and Chris’s super fast passage is also beautiful and direct to each note, so I’m afraid. You can hardly feel the thick hall sound that you are familiar with at Tokyo Dome, and the world’s fastest shred guitar, which was jerky even on the studio board, emerges super clearly.
There is also a reason why that much sound was realized. As a matter of fact, this work is one of the masterpiece collections that have become a hot topic these days. It is a collection where masterpieces from various venues have been excavated, but the most shocking one is the Tokyo Dome in the 1980s. Yes, it is a work with the same taper as KINDOM COME’s “TOKYO DOME 1989 (Shades 1279)” and RATT’s “TOKYO DOME 1989 (Shades 1280)”. If you know these two, you will be surprised, but you can taste Graham & Impellitteri with that super direct feeling. [DISC 2: The highest peak version of the familiar POWER STATION Pro Shot] By the way, next is a large standard video that everyone knows. This is a multi-camera pro shot of “July 17, 1988: Power Station Performance”. I think the video itself is familiar, but this point is the highest quality ever, which many people will see for the first time. He is a new master who shocked him with his solo work “DEFINITIVE TOKYO 1988”.
For those who know “DEFINITIVE TOKYO 1988”, it’s just a bonus for the new excavation live album (DISC 1), but for those who have missed it, this disc will be a big hit. Actually, it should be an air check thing that recorded the TV broadcast at that time like the conventional version, but I can not see the layer very much. At our shop, we deliver a lot of the finest images by domestic core enthusiasts, and this work is one of them. However, its high quality is different from the masterpieces so far. The freshness, which probably had never been reproduced, is the ultimate, and if the color is vivid, the outline is super clear, and there is no white line noise or uneven running. It’s like dropping an official laserdisc … No, it’s more than that, and there’s no doubt that if you get a tale saying, “Last year, I rebroadcasted digitally.” At our shop, “METALLIC LIVE ’84” and “POWER LIVE”, which reproduce the official video of ALCATRAZZ with the highest quality, are also very popular, but this disc is the third super masterpiece along with them.
Graham Bonnet in the 1980s who unearthed a super genius called Yngwie Malmsteen / Steve Vai in a row at ALCATRAZZ and sent it to the world to the world’s fastest shred guitarist Chris Impellitteri. It is no exaggeration to say that his talent as a guitarist excavator is more than Ozzy. And the one with the fewest records is IMPELLITTERI. The biggest impact of this work is DISC 1, which will be released for the first time in the world, but it is also a complete set (with the highest quality) of the performances in Japan that only realized 2 performances in total.
It is truly a world-class rock cultural heritage from Japan, and this is the treasure of HR guitar history. When the new excavation is realized, please chew to your heart’s content.

そんな本作に収められているのはIMPELLITTERI初来日の全公演。「1988年７月24日：東京ドーム公演」の初公開オーディエンス録音をDISC 1（CDR）に、お馴染み「７月17日：パワーステーション公演」のマルチカメラ・プロショットをDISC 2（DVDR）に配した２枚組です。それでは、それぞれ個別にご紹介していきましょう。
【DISC 1：東京ドーム公演の初登場オーディエンス録音】
そんな本作のメインとなるのは全世界初公開となる「1988年７月24日：東京ドーム公演」の強力オーディエンス録音。そもそもIMPELLITTERIの初来日は２公演のみで、これまでパワーステーション公演のプロショット（後述）しか知られてきませんでした。このディスクに記録されているのはもう一方の別公演で、ビリー・ジョエルやボズ・スキャッグスが目玉だった音楽イベント“KIRIN DRY GIGS ’88”に参加した際の模様です。
貴重なグラハム時代のライヴがもう１公演聴けるというだけで感無量ですが、それを伝えるサウンドも素晴らしい。開場間もない「ビッグエッグ」だけにバンドも遠いボケボケ録音……かと思いきや、さにあらず。むしろ、距離感のないド級の芯が目の前に突きつけられ、まるで音で頬をビンタされているような超パワフル・サウンドなのです。実のところ、あまりの力強さにドラムも打音がオーバーピーク気味になったりもするのですが、それでも割れたりノイズになったりはしない。そして、その強力ビートを掻き分けてくるヴォーカルは歌詞の一語一語まで超クッキリで、クリスの超速パッセージも１音１音まで美麗＆ダイレクトだから恐れ入る。東京ドームでお馴染みのぶ厚いホール鳴りをほとんど感じることなく、スタジオ盤でさえグシャグシャだった世界一の速弾きが超クッキリと浮き上がるのです。
それだけのサウンドが実現したのにも理由がある。実のところ、本作は最近話題となっている名手コレクションの１つなのです。様々な会場の名作が発掘されているコレクションなのですが、中でも衝撃的なのが80年代の東京ドーム。そう、KINDOM COMEの『TOKYO DOME 1989（Shades 1279）』やRATTの『TOKYO DOME 1989（Shades 1280）』と同じテーパーの作品なのです。この２本をご存知の方ならピンと来ると思いますが、あの超ダイレクト感でグラハム＆インペリテリを味わえてしまうのです。
【DISC 2：お馴染みPOWER STATIONプロショットの最高峰版】
さて、続いては皆さまご存知の大定番映像。「1988年７月17日：パワーステーション公演」のマルチカメラ・プロショットです。映像自体は馴染み抜いていると思いますが、こちらのポイントは初めて見る方も多いであろう過去最高峰のクオリティ。単独作品『DEFINITIVE TOKYO 1988』で衝撃を振りまいた新マスターなのです。
『DEFINITIVE TOKYO 1988』をご存知の方には新発掘ライヴアルバム（DISC 1）のオマケに過ぎませんが、見逃されていた方には、このディスクにこそド肝を抜かれる事でしょう。実のところ、従来版と同じように当時のTV放送を録画したエアチェック物……のはずなのですが、とても層は見えない。当店では、国内のコア・マニアによる極上映像を多数をお届けしており、本作もその１つ。しかし、そのハイクオリティぶりはこれまでの傑作群とは次元が違う。恐らく１回も再生していなかったであろう鮮度は究極的で、発色もビビッドなら輪郭も超鮮明で、白線ノイズも走行ムラも見られない艶っ艶の美しさ。まるで公式レーザーディスク落とし……いえ、それ以上でして、もし「去年、デジタル再放送したんだよ」とホラを吹かれても疑いようがない。当店ではALCATRAZZの公式映像を最高峰クオリティで復刻させた『METALLIC LIVE ’84』『POWER LIVE』も大人気ですが、このディスクは、それらと並ぶ第３の超傑作となるものなのです。
ALCATRAZZでイングヴェイ・マルムスティーン／スティーヴ・ヴァイという超天才を立て続けに発掘し、さらに世界一の速弾き男クリス・インペリテリまで世に送り出した80年代のグラハム・ボネット。ギタリスト発掘人としての才覚は、オジー以上と言っても過言ではないでしょう。そして、その中で最も記録の少ないのがIMPELLITTERI。本作最大の衝撃は全世界初公開となるDISC 1ですが、さらに全２公演しか実現しなかった来日公演を（最高峰クオリティで）丸ごと完全コンプリートしたセットでもあるのです。
