Five years, nine months and seven days. The reorganized GUNS N’ ROSES has finally returned to Japan. Two types of original recordings that give a quick report on the whole picture have arrived! “Emergency simultaneous release decision!!”
There will be two performances in Japan this time. This week, both Raive albums were released at once. This work is the first version. It is the best audience recording of “November 5, 2022 Saitama Super Arena Performance”, which will be the first day of coming to Japan. If it comes to the breaking news of GUNS coming to Japan, there may be people who are not usually interested in bootlegs. This is the tour overview for 2020-2022 that has been announced so far. The second reorganized GUNS full pro shot “ROCK IN RIO 2022 (Shades 1606)” was a hot topic, but the visit to Japan was two months later.
This work, which is a vacuum-packed version of such a show, is a splendid audience recording that you wouldn’t expect from a breaking news report. It’s not the type to be mistaken for a sound board, but the core that penetrates the hall sound is strong and thick. Because it has a rushing power, it breaks through the atmosphere and reaches the details firmly. When this happens, the hall sound does not become a sense of distance, but it turns into the thickness and dynamism of the performance / vocals. The vocals are clear to one word of the lyrics, and if you focus on the guitar, you can clearly see the picking nuances. Although it is so vivid, there is a comprehensive feeling unique to the audience as a whole, and there is also an immersive feeling that can be immersed in the whole body.
What’s even more wonderful is how the performance stands out and the sense of stability. Although there are loud cheers at the beginning of the performance and between songs, the sound image does not change from beginning to end without being bothered by the immediate shouts/conversations. The degree of perfection as a musical work is high. This area is a gift of recording technology. After all, the master who made this work a thing is said to be one of the best in Japan. He is a person who has worked on a number of press masterpieces in our shop. Earlier, I wrote that “the sound is so good that I can’t believe it’s a breaking news”, but it might be better to say “I was able to release the fastest without processing” because the sound is rather good.

I think there are many people who have been preparing for the full pro shot “ROCK IN RIO 2022” mentioned above, but the daily song “I Wanna Be Your Dog” on the first day is a repertoire that was not seen there. More to say, it is also the first public song in Japan that has never been played in Japan so far, and the rarity was one better on the first day.
