The true identity of this work is a set of stereo sound board recording and multi-camera pro shot of “February 2, 1988 New York performance”. It is a two-disc set that renews the highest peak of “RITZ 1988 DEFINITIVE EDITION”, the pinnacle of the classic “GUNS Ritz”. This is GUNS N’ROSES in 1987/1988. The New York performance of this work is the 5th performance of “North America # 2b”. It was a club gig that was held for broadcasting. “RITZ 1988 DEFINITIVE EDITION” is a set of the highest peak masters of such radio / TV broadcasting. The CD contains the original LP of Westwood One’s “SUPERSTAR CONCERT”, and the DVD contains the promotional VHS. In other words, both DVD and CD are “pre-broadcast” masters. It is super quality with no deterioration, let alone air check.
[Upgrade with ultimate and supreme quality beyond imagination] Only for such an ultimate title, it has been a big hit that sold out even if it is restocked or restocked, but this work is not just a restocking. It is the highest peak updated version that has been meticulously remastered and brushed up. これが1987年／1988年のGUNS N’ ROSES。本作のニューヨーク公演は「北米#2b」の５公演目。放送用に行われたクラブ・ギグでした。『RITZ 1988 DEFINITIVE EDITION』とは、そんなラジオ放送／TV放送の最高峰マスターをセットしたもの。CDにはWestwood Oneの“SUPERSTAR CONCERT”の放送原盤LPから、DVDにはプロモーション用VHSから収録している。つまり、DVDもCDも“放送前”の大元マスター。エアチェックどころか劣化も一切ないスーパー・クオリティなのです。
【究極・至高のクオリティが想像を超えるアップグレード】
そんな究極タイトルだけに、再入荷しても再入荷しても完売する大ヒットを重ねてきたわけですが、本作は単なる再入荷ではない。細心リマスターでブラッシュアップを図った最高峰更新バージョンなのです。実のところ、プロショットDVD編は大きなアップグレードとはならなかった（それでも放送ロゴすらない頂点クオリティなわけですが）ものの、サウンドボードCD編は完璧に生まれ変わっている。恐らく従来盤をご体験された方なら「あれ以上なんてあり得るのか!?」と思われるかも知れませんが、あり得たのです。
そのカギはバランス感。もちろん無闇矢鱈な音圧稼ぎなどまったくせず、高音・中音・重低音それぞれで鳴りを調整。例えば、重低音ならバスドラのアタック音にあった突き上げ感が緩和され、タムやスネアとの均整が取れている。逆に高音は輪郭とヌケが向上しており、軋むギターのチョーキングもヴォーカルの伸びも一層鮮やか。超絶なリアル感・没入感はそのままに、音楽アートとしての均整の美まで宿ったサウンドが実現しているのです。

The main press CD + DVD is a masterpiece with no questions asked by GUNS N’ROSES. It is the ultimate title that raises the height of the famous large classic “GUNS Ritz” from ancient times. But now the word “Ritz Pro Shot” doesn’t mean one live. Therefore, it is decided that a luxurious bonus will be included so that you can experience another Ritz at the same time and collect “GUNS Ritz” at once!
Such “another Ritz” is “The Ritz performance on October 23, 1987”. The 6th performance of “North America # 2a”, which is about 3 months before the main press 2-disc set. Speaking of 1987 footage, the unplugged “CBGB’S 1987” is also famous, but this work was a concert one week before that.
This work recorded at such a show is a shocking professional shot excavated in 2017. The existence itself is miraculous, but the quality is also exceptional. The master who is said to have leaked from GEFFEN is a strange beauty. Of course, it is not the official quality of “RITZ 1988 DEFINITIVE EDITION”, but the freshness is with origami and there is no dubbing deterioration or aging deterioration. It is the first time in high image quality that is beautiful even if you look at it with the modern eyes of digital heyday. However, it is also different from a professional shot like an official work. The angle is captured in one direction from the back of the audience (probably two turtles?), And image effects such as split screen, wipe, stop motion, distant view and zoom are also applied. It seems that GEFFEN did the shooting and editing, but what on earth was it made for?
Although there is such a handmade feeling, this work is definitely a professional specification. It is proved by the super beautiful Doup. If you approach the accelerator, you can see each hair beautifully, and if you move it to the hand of the slash, you can see the nails and wrinkles of the first joint. Of course, the view is not obstructed by the shadow of the audience, and the sense of stability that can only be achieved with a professional shot. It is drawn with smooth and dynamic camera work while remaining vivid.
Sound is more professional than such visual beauty. Perfectly mixed sound board audio, direct to the brain, not to the ear. The cheers are also far away, and the fierce rock is screwed in with a glaring line recording directly connected. Unfortunately, the first 4 songs have not been recorded and it starts from the middle of “Welcome To The Jungle”, but even so, the young GUNS N’ROSES is fully open in about 1 hour, 11 songs in total (27 seconds when introducing the members). , There is a shooting omission of about 15 seconds at the beginning of “Mama Kin”, which is complemented by audience recording + still image).
Under such circumstances, what surprised me was “Knockin’On Heaven’s Door”. It is MEGADETH’s Dave Mustaine who comes to the place where Axel is singing chorus with plenty of mood. I walked up to sing along, but Rodi came in immediately and was picked up. 本編プレスCD＋DVDは、GUNS N’ ROSES問答無用の最高傑作。古くから有名な大定番「GUNSのリッツ」の高みをグイッと引き上げた究極タイトルです。しかし、現在では「リッツのプロショット」という言葉は１つのライヴを指すわけではありません。そこで、もう１つのリッツも同時にご体験いただき「GUNSのリッツ」を一気にコレクトいただける豪華ボーナス付属決定です！
そんな「もう１つのリッツ」とは「1987年10月23日The Ritz公演」。本編プレス２枚組の約３ヶ月前となる「北米#2a」の６公演目。1987年映像と言えば、アンプラグドの『CBGB’S 1987』も有名ですが、本作はその１週間前にあたるコンサートでした。
そんなショウで記録された本作は、2017年に発掘された衝撃のプロショット。存在自体が奇跡的なのですが、クオリティも特級。GEFFENから流出したと言われるマスターは異様な美しさ。もちろん、さすがに『RITZ 1988 DEFINITIVE EDITION』のようなオフィシャル・クオリティではありませんが、鮮度は折り紙付きでダビング劣化も経年劣化も感じられない。デジタル全盛の現代の目で観ても麗しい高画質ぶりです。ただし、公式作品のようなプロショットとも違う。アングルは客席後方からの一方向（恐らく２カメ？）で捉えられており、そこに画面分割やワイプ、ストップモーション、遠景とズームの重ねなど、ホームビデオのような画像演出も施される。撮影・編集はGEFFENが行ったようなのですが、一体、何のために制作したのでしょう……。
そんな手作り感は漂うものの、本作は間違いなくプロ仕様。それは超美麗なドアップが証明している。アクセルに寄れば髪の毛１本１本まで美しく、スラッシュの手元に移れば爪や第１関節のシワまで見える。もちろん、観客の影で視界が遮られる事もなく、いかにもプロショットでしかあり得ない安定感。ビシッとしたまま、スムーズでダイナミックなカメラワークで描かれるのです。
そんな映像美以上にプロ然としているのがサウンド。完璧にミックスされたサウンドボード音声で、耳元どころか脳みそダイレクト。歓声も遠いド直結ギラギラなライン録音で激烈ロックがねじ込まれるのです。残念ながら冒頭４曲が未収録で「Welcome To The Jungle」の途中からスタートするのですが、それでも約１時間・全11曲ノンストップで若きGUNS N’ ROSESが全開なのです（メンバー紹介時に27秒、「Mama Kin」冒頭に15秒ほどの撮影漏れがあり、そこはオーディエンス録音＋静止画で補完されています）。
そんな中で驚くのが「Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door」。アクセルがムードたっぷりにサビを歌っているところへやって来るのが、なんとMEGADETHのデイヴ・ムステインなのです。一緒に歌おうと歩み寄るのですが、ローディが即座にやってきてつまみ出されてしまうのです。時間にして１秒ほどの出来事で、本当にムステイン本人なのか、ただ似ているだけのファンなのか……と思うところですが、アクセルは特に驚かず、ローディに注意されると「あ、そう？ 別にいいよ」という感じで平静に従うあたりも音楽仲間っぽい。やはり、本人なのでしょう。何から何まで“1987年”の匂い満載。凄い、凄すぎるプロショットです。
そんなクオリティで描かれる“1987年のGUNS N’ ROSES”……。これはもう、筆舌に尽くしがたい。『RITZ 1988 DEFINITIVE EDITION』とはセットも異なりますので、ここで比較しながら整理しておきましょう。
