Live at Tor 3, Dusseldorf, Germany 30th September 1987
Valuable and exquisite “European performance of original GN’R” is appearing in press CD. What is contained in this work is the one of the world tour “APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION TOUR” which is original formation only. It is an audience album of “September 30, 1987 Dusseldorf Performance (West Germany)”.
Although it is the original GN’R which reworked the whole world with the revolutionary board “APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION” with the subsequent tour, this work is a special one even in it. Before explaining the meaning of “special” Let ‘s take a look at the whole of “APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION TOUR” that changed the world.

That was all 176 performances. The whole world was shocked by this tour, but the balance was very unique. Looking at the breakdown, continuing with “UK 8 shows,” “5 shows in Japan,” “4 shows in Oceania” with only “3 countries in the U.S.,” followed by only 3 performances in the continent Europe (2 performances in West Germany). Later in “USE YOUR ILLUSION TOUR” I will visit plenty of European countries, but the original GN’R is all three performances. The Dusseldorf performance shown in this work is a valuable one that is the second day.
Such a work is a live album that is too wonderful even if you are overlooking the degree of rare. It is a remaster of the masterpiece of Langley label “DUSSELDORF 1987” from Omoto master, but the quality is also the highest in “1987” which was a historical incident. The initial record of 1987 is famous for British recordings such as the legendary marquee performance “MARQUEE 1987 2ND NIGHT (ZODIAC 226)” and Axel furious “NOTTINGHAM 1987 (ZODIAC 187)”, but this work is such a super It is not less than masterpiece group … … Is it saying superb quality that can surpass it? Although neither can afford superiority or inferiority to important recording carved in history, in the viewpoint of pure audio it is a wonderful sound ahead of this work a half step ahead. It is so delicate and delicate that it makes me want to call that musical sound or “just like a sound board”. The nuance of the guitar which breathes in the performance which crushes unexpectedly delicately, the feeling of the beat’s groove is transmitted richly. The live itself drawn with that sound is a masterpiece that will be “the representative of 1987”. 貴重にして極上な「オリジナルGN’Rのヨーロッパ公演」がプレスCDで登場です。本作に収められているのは、オリジナル編成唯一のワールドツアー“APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION TOUR”の一幕。「1987年９月30日デュッセルドルフ公演（西ドイツ）」のオーディエンス・アルバムです。
革命盤『APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION』と、その後のツアーをもっ て全世界を塗り替えたオリジナルGN’Rですが、本作はその中にあっても特別な１枚。その“特別”の意味をご説明する前に、世界を変えた“APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION TOUR”の全容から見てみましょう。

以上、全176公演でした。このツアーで全世界が衝撃を受けたわけですが、そのバランスは非常に特異でした。内訳に注目してみると「本国アメリカ155公演」を筆頭に「イギリス８公演」「日本５公演」「オセアニア４公演」と続き、大陸ヨーロッパはわずか３公演（西ドイツは２公演）だけ。後の“USE YOUR ILLUSION TOUR”ではたっぷりと欧州各国を巡りますが、オリジナルGN’Rは、この３公演がすべて。本作に収められたデュッセルドルフ公演は、その２日目にあたる貴重な１本なのです。
そんな本作は、レア度を度外視しても素晴らしすぎるライヴアルバム。Langleyレーベルの名作『DUSSELDORF 1987』を大元マスターからリマスターしたものですが、そのクオリティは歴史的事件だった「1987年」でも最上級。1987年の初期記録というと、伝説のマーキー公演『MARQUEE 1987 2ND NIGHT（ZODIAC 226）』やアクセルが激怒してしまう『NOTTINGHAM 1987（ZODIAC 187）』といったイギリス録音が有名ですが、本作はそんな超名作群にも劣らない……と言いますか、凌駕しかねない極上クオリティ。いずれも歴史に刻まれた重要録音に優劣を付ける事はできませんが、純オーディオ観点では本作が半歩先んじる素晴らしいサウンドなのです。その楽音たるや「まるでサウンドボード」と呼びたくなるほどに骨太で細やか。無遠慮に叩きつける演奏の中に息づくギターのニュアンスは繊細に、ビートのグルーヴ感も豊かに伝わる。オーディエンス録音ならではの生々しい現場感覚もありながら、観客の声が遠く広く、その逆に楽音はクリスタル・クリアな空気感の中で距離感がまるで感じられない……。まさに「1987年」の代表作と呼ぶに相応しい逸品なのです。
そのサウンドで描かれるライヴそのものも「1987年の代表」となる名演。上記の日程をご覧の通り、本作は本国アメリカでたっぷりとエンジンを暖めた上での海外遠征。“デビュー直後の勢い”・“初めての異国の緊張感”の双方が車の両輪となってショウを動かしている。本作でアクセルは「英語が分かるヤツはどれくらいいる？」と言っていますが、彼にとって「非英語」自体が初体験であり、その異国感がいつになく丁寧な歌いっぷりにも漂ってくる。日の近い英国の『NOTTINGHAM 1987』ではアクセルが激怒して短く切り上げてしまうアクシデントシーンも聞き物でしたが、本作は逆に終始絶好調なのが素晴らしく、『NOTTINGHAM 1987』では聴けない「Nightrain」「Mama Kin」も披露しています。西ドイツでは『APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION』がプラチナムを獲得し、次の“USE YOUR ILLUSION TOUR”では11公演に拡大するわけですが、これだけの名演・熱演を見せつけられたら、わずか２公演でも成し遂げられるだろう……そんな巨大なインパクトのコンサートなのです。
全世界を塗り替えた“APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION TOUR”でも、スタート・ダッシュが眩しい「1987年」。中でもヨーロッパ公演は、心・技・体が噛み合った名演でした。それを極上を究めるサウンドで描ききった名録音。ここにはトラブルも異常な事件もありません。ただひたすらに素晴らしい“1987年”の真価だけが、ただひたすらに美しく記録されている。“APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION TOUR”がいかに素晴らしかったのか、それを知るのにこれ以上ない“イの一番”アルバム。どうぞ、たっぷりとお楽しみください。
