Headless, the premier jazz collector’s label, has reissued the valuable titles of handmade labels for collectors, which were distributed only in a small part, from the official master who took over. Hawk is here. Rare titles are re-appearing at affordable prices with reissue emblems and new back jackets.

Gary Burton Quartet sound board live sound source. At the height of ECM, the guitar was young Pat Metheny and the bass was Steve Swallow. I think this flow is Jon Christensen, and Dan Gottlieb plays the drums. All are strong ECM players. Gary Burton’s quartet is an orthodox jazz band style that doesn’t flow much in the ambient direction in ECM. As expected, the atmosphere that covers the whole is cool in Scandinavia, which is different from the indigenous jazz in the United States, but it is a content that can be enjoyed by jazz fans called “ECM a little nigate …”.

ゲイリー・バートン・カルテットのサウンドボード・ライヴ音源です。ECMでの絶頂期で、ギターは若きパット・メセニー、ベースにはスティーヴ・スワロウという申し分ない布陣。この流れはヨン・クリステンセンかと思いきやダン・ゴットリーブがドラムを務めています。いずれもECMの強者揃い。ゲイリー・バートンのカルテットはECMの中でもあまりアンビエント方向に流て行かず、オーソドックスなジャズ・バンド・スタイル。さすがに全体を覆う空気感は北欧のクールなもので、アメリカの土着ジャズとは別物ですが、「ECMちょっとニガテ・・」というジャズ・ファンにも楽しんでいただける内容です。
