エリック・クラプトンの当店オリジナルマスターのリリースは続きます！本盤は、1993年に行なわれたジャパンツアーから、10月26日、27日の武道館2DAYS公演を極上と断言できるド迫力のステレオサウンドで完全収録したプレス4CDとなります。両日の音源を収録したタイトルが過去に存在することはマニアの方ならご存知でしょうが、本盤は既発盤のすべてを軽く凌駕する素晴らしい音質で全編が収録されているのです。もちろん本盤は、両日とも単なる音質のアップというだけではなく、このたび当店が独自に入手した完全初公開となるオリジナルマスターを使用しています。そのサウンドのクリアネス、ダイナミズム、バランスの良さ、そして深みは、先般当店がリリースしました一連の93年ジャパンツアー・タイトルに比肩するクオリティとご理解いただければご納得いただけると思います。26日の音源収録盤には今やヴィンテージ・ブートと言ってよいプレス2CD「Twenty One and Three Live」がありましたが、今回検証したところ、この日の音源ではなく他日のものであることが判明しました。その他では当店の傍系レーベルMasterportからリリースされていた「The Sixth Day」がありましたが、本盤に使用したマスターは、これをはるかに凌ぐ別マスターでした。そして27日には一部にこの日を収めていると言われるサウンドボード・タイトルが存在するほか、2CDRのオーディエンス・タイトル「Stone Free Night」がありましたが、音質最高と言われた「Stone Free Night」をも本盤は凌駕してしまっております。つまりこの両日においては、本盤がオーディエンス・タイトルの決定版として君臨することは間違いないものと断言できます。まずはこのサウンドを体感していただければと思います。
このツアーはご存知のように、翌年のアルバム「From The Cradle」、あるいはそのツアー「Nothing But The Blues」の布石となった、前半をブルースカバーで固め、後半にもブルースを散りばめながら従来の代表曲を組んだこの時期だけの特異なセットとなっていました。中にはちょうどこの時期にレコーディングしたジミ・ヘンドリクスへのトリビュート・ナンバーStone Freeまでプレイしたというトピックもありました。バンドメンバーと言えば、現在もクラプトンをサポートしているネイザン・イーストやアンディ・フェアウェザー・ロウを含んでいたという感慨もありますが、ドラムがリトル・フィートのパワフル・ドラマー、故リッチー・ヘイワードだったり、ホーンセクションや女性コーラスを起用していたり、はたまた元マディ・ウォーターズ・バンドのブルース・ハーピスト、ジェリー・ポートノイを帯同するなど多彩な編成でした。女性抜きの男だけのゴリゴリのブルースセットを経て、女性コーラスが活きるアコースティックセットからテンションがMAXに達する後半への流れが絶妙で、非常に楽しめるステージと言えました。しかも当の主役であるクラプトンが胸に期するものに突き動かされて披露したパフォーマンスが素晴らしいクオリティだったことで、このツアーは日本人の胸にいつまでも残る思い出となっています。当店の一連の93年ジャパンツアー・タイトルをコレクトされ、お楽しみいただいている方々はもちろんのこと、このツアーの最高の音質を聴きたいと思われる一般のロックファンの方にも是非聴いていただきたい貴重な初登場マスターです。この武道館2DAYS、間違いなくクラプトンは燃えていました！それをご確認ください。初回プレスのみの限定リリースとなりますので、本盤へのお早めのオーダーをどうぞよろしくお願い致します。
