Eric Clapton’s “official” live album will be released in its original form! Clapton’s official solo live album has a long career and many more. “RAINBOW CONCERT” in 73, “LIVE IN LONG BEACH” in 74 (GIVE ME STRENGTH SUPER DELUXE EDITION), “LIVE IN LONDON” (461 OCEAN BOULDARD DELUXE EDITION), “EC WAS HERE” in 75, 77 ‘LIVE AT HAMMER SMITH’, ‘CROSSROADS 2 LIVE IN THE SEVENTIES’ in ’74-’78, ‘JUST ONE NIGHT’ in ’80, ’24 NIGHTS ‘in ’91,’ UNPLUGGED ‘in ’92,’ ‘ ONE MORE CAR, ONE MORE RIDER. WAS HERE」、77年の「LIVE AT HAMMERSMITH」、74年～78年の「CROSSROADS 2 LIVE IN THE SEVENTIES」、80年の「JUST ONE NIGHT」、91年の「24 NIGHTS」、92年の「UNPLUGGED」、2001年の「ONE MORE CAR, ONE MORE RIDER」。こうして見ますと、80年代の10年間、90年代の8年間にライブアルバムが出ていません。そして本盤は、本来前者の間隔を埋めるべく企画されていた86年＆87年のツアーからのライブアルバムだったのです。今回、当店はクラプトンの本国イギリスで強力なネットワークを持つ人物からリリース前の最終マスターを入手、まさに完璧なステレオ・サウンドボードでのリリースを実現しました。この時期のクラプトンは、アルバム「AUGUST」をリリース、そのシャープに研ぎ澄まされたサウンドとプレイは「新生クラプトン」を印象づけるものでした。バックを務めたのは、ネイザン・イースト（b）、グレッグ・フィリンゲインズ(kbd)、フィル・コリンズ(dr)、スティーヴ・フェローン(dr)といった大物あるいは精鋭セッションマンたち。さらにここに当時Money For Nothingの大ヒットで飛ぶ鳥落とす勢いだったダイアー・ストレイツのギタリスト、マーク・ノップラー、新進気鋭のブルース・ギタリスト、ロバート・クレイが特別参加したこの内容は、もしリリースされていれば当時の話題をさらうことは間違いなかったでしょう。尤も、Further On Up the Roadが2テイク収録されていたり、2CDに収まるにもかかわらず、なぜCocaineやSame Old Bluesが収録されなかったのか、本当にこの形でリリースが予定されていたのか、疑問を抱く部分もあります。しかし敢えてクラプトンが意表を突こうと考えていたのかもしれない、などと想像を巡らせると歴史考察のようで楽しくもあります。注目すべきは、彼のライブアルバムでは、初めてLaylaを収録しようとしていたことでしょう。それほどクラプトンはこの曲、この時期のバンドに自信があったと考えられます。自らドラムで参加し、「AUGUST」をプロデュースしたフィル・コリンズが全公演に参加し、エネルギッシュなプレイを聴かせているのも聴きどころですが、よく聴いていただくと (1)、(4)のドラムサウンドは右チャンネルとセンターチャンネルから聴こえます。つまり両公演は、S.フェローンとのツインドラムだったというわけです。そしてM.ノップラーとR.クレイの特別参加。本盤に収録されている各公演のブートレッグもリリースされてはいますが、公式ライブアルバムとしてクラプトンが考えていたこの内容で鑑賞していただくのも、また違った趣きがあると思います。本盤をこのパッケージごと「クラプトンの発掘オフィシャル・ライブアルバムだよ」とロックファンの方に見せていただくと、きっと信用されるでしょう。内容・パッケージとも完璧なクオリティでお届けする、クラプトンのキャリアに埋もれた幻のライブアルバム。この機会に是非ご堪能ください。限定プレス盤となっておりますので、お早めのオーダーをお待ちしております。

This week, the long-awaited re-release has been decided “UNRELEASED LIVE ALBUM FROM 1986/1987”, but this record is a single recording of all rare sessions from the mid to late 80’s with superb stereo sound board recording. The origin uses the original DAT master which our store acquired directly from the heavyweight taper which lives in England as well as “UNRELEASED LIVE ALBUM FROM 1986/1987” of the press, and all the treasured sound source which mania also beats is a superb stereo sound board It has been recorded. The original take is the same as the one recorded in the four-disc set “RARE SESSIONS (Beano-108)” released in 2015, and the late 80’s from the collection of takes centered on the 90’s , It is a piece of hearing response perfect score recorded in time series.

The opening is a session of It’s My Life Baby recorded in the soundtrack “Color Of Money” in a session with the rare Big Town Playboys recorded in London in September 1986. You can enjoy lively and lively performances that begin with the count of flesh voices. Next is a live recording of the Robert Cray band’s gig at the London club ‘Mee Fedlar’ in November 86. Although only Phone Booth has been released in the appendix sono sheet of the American music magazine “Guitar Player”, this version is a complete version of the stage. Lastly, on May 9, 1989, New York recorded five tracks in which Clapton joined the club gig with Rockabilly’s Czar Carl Perkins at the Bottom Line, also in the best line recording. 今週、待望の再リリースが決定した「UNRELEASED LIVE ALBUM FROM 1986 / 1987」ですが、本盤は80年代中期から後期にかけてのレア・セッションを全て極上のステレオ・サウンドボード録音で収録した一枚です。出元はプレスの「UNRELEASED LIVE ALBUM FROM 1986 / 1987」同様にイギリス在住の重鎮テーパーから直接当店が譲り受けたオリジナルのDATマスターを使用しており、マニアも唸る秘蔵音源がすべて極上ステレオ・サウンドボードで収録されています。元は2015年にリリースされた4枚組「RARE SESSIONS(Beano-108)」に収録されていたものと同テイクで、90年代が中心となっていたテイク集から、80年代後期を抜粋して、時系列に収録された聴き応え満点の一枚です。

冒頭はレアな1986年9月にロンドンで収録されたビッグ・タウン・プレイボーイズとのセッションでサントラ「Color Of Money」に収録されたIt’s My Life Babyのセッション。肉声カウントから始まる、生々しくも躍動感溢れる演奏が楽しめます。続いては86年11月にロンドンのクラブ「ミー・フェドラー」でのロバート・クレイ・バンドのギグに飛入りしたライブ音源が収録されています。アメリカの音楽雑誌「Guitar Player」の付録ソノシートでPhone Boothのみがリリースされたことはありますが、本盤がそのステージの完全版となります。素晴らしい演奏が最高のサウンドでじっくりたっぷり堪能できます。続いては1987年6月18日にロンドン・ウェンブリー・アリーナでのティナ・ターナーのショウにクラプトンが客演しTearing Us Apart をプレイした際のゴージャス極まりない演奏をこれまた極上音質で楽しめます。次は1988年6月15日にロンドンのスタジオで録音されたダヴィーナ・マッコールとのセッション。後にテレビ司会者として有名になるダヴィーナですが、この頃は19歳の学生で結局成功は収められなかったものの、歌手としての可能性を模索していた時期。クラプトンは当時ボーイフレンドとして彼女をヘルプしていたのですが、これはその頃のセッション。最後は1989年5月9日、ニューヨークはボトム・ラインで行われたロカビリーの帝王カール・パーキンスとのクラブ・ギグにクラプトンが参加した5曲をこちらも最高のライン録音で収録しています。聴きどころは多数で、ブルースのみならず、ポップ、スワンプ、ロカビリーと多彩なジャンルで的確なプレイを披露するクラプトンの80年代らしいホットな演奏を極上ステレオ・サウンドボードでたっぷりとお楽しみ下さい。

★beatleg vol.180(2015年7月号）によると、既発盤で聴けるテイクはカセットコピーから製作されていたが、「RARE SESSIONS(Beano-108)」は全てオリジナルのDATコピーからの製作のため、音質劣化が無い、とのことです。
