Arena Tour」から、10月24日のミルウォーキー、ブラッドリー・センター公演を極上音質で完全収録したものです。本公演は前半日程のアリーナツアーを捉えたもので（後半はクラブ・ツアーでした）、会場の残響を若干拾っていながら、音自体は近く、サウンドボード録音のような質感の素晴らしい音質で収録されています。通常会場の残響を拾った場合、サウンドはぼやけるものですが、本盤はこの残響がいい意味で会場のキャパシティーを推し量れるような非常に臨場感・空気感に溢れたものであり、サウンド・バランスも良く、バンドサウンドの輪郭がくっきり立ったものです。この音像は過去のこのツアーのサウンドボード・タイトルにもオーディエンス・タイトルにもなかったものと言えます。まさに1階アリーナ席の中央辺りでステージを観ているような錯覚に陥る、ムードのあるサウンドです。クラプトンのプレイについては文句なし。原点回帰を目指したこのツアーは彼のやる気と真摯な姿勢がひしひしと感じられる充実した内容であり、オールド・ブルースオンリーとはいえ、序盤のアコースティック・ブルース、中盤のギブソン系のホロウ・ボディ・エレクトリックギター・ナンバー、後半のフレディ・キング意識のセミ・アコースティック・ギター・ナンバー、そして終盤はストラトで畳み掛ける怒涛のナンバー、とバラエティに富んだ構成はまったく飽きさせません。特にDisc 2のFive Long Years以降のプレイは鬼気迫るテンションで畳み掛けられます。クラプトンの原点を知る意味でも重要な意味を持ったこのツアーを見事にパックした本盤は、今週リリースのDVDと併せてご鑑賞いただければ、よりこのツアーの真髄に迫っていただけるものと考えます。アンコールで弾けるDisc 2のSweet Home Chicagoでは、オープニング・アクトを務めたクラプトンの盟友とも言えるジミー・ヴォーンが飛び入りし、クラプトンとギターバトルを繰り広げています。是非この機会にDVDタイトル「Nothing But The Blues」にオーダーをいただき、本盤もお楽しみいただければと思います。初回ステッカー付プレス盤のみのボーナスにつき数に限りがございますので、どうぞお早めのオーダーをお願い致します。
