The latest tour “HOTEL CALIFORNIA 2022” I thought that it was a smooth sailing, but the news of the withdrawal of Deacon Fly is spreading ripples in 2022 Eagles. The latest live album has arrived.
It is “April 19, 2022 Columbus performance” that is imbued with such a work. It is the best audience recording. The reproduction tour of “Hotel California” started in 2019 and is still being carried out with the new Korona-ka in between. You may remember our masterpiece “MADISON SQUARE GARDEN 2021 (Uxbridge 1527)”. First, let’s review their recent situation.

・ June 17-26: Europe (5 performances)

This is the history of the “HOTEL CALIFORNIA Tour” that has been announced so far. The tour resumed for the first time in a year and a half last year, and 2022, when the year changed, started immediately in February. It looked like it was going well, but in reality there was no Deacon on the stage. Initially, it was announced that it was a medical treatment for illness, but the other day, withdrawal was announced with the comment that “it is time to pave the way for myself.” I’m curious that the reason has changed, but I understand that 24-year-old Deacon is aiming for his career, and the band also announced, “If he wants, he can always attend future concerts.” Apparently it was a friendly farewell. Anyway, the Columbus performance of this work is the first stage after the announcement of withdrawal. It was the first day of “North America # 4b”.
This work recorded at such a site is an audience recording that looks like a picture of “excellent”. I feel a sense of space in the relaxed vocal sound, but that’s about it like an audience. The core is powerful and straight to the ear, and the details are clear. Despite the large group of 8 people including support, each sound is clear and clear. The separate feeling that does not mix even if the melody overlaps is also wonderful. Unfortunately, it’s not perfect because of the rugged microphone contact sound in “New Kid in Town”, but the basic quality is a press-class masterpiece recording.
Furthermore, the great cheers that suffered there were also good. The cheers and screams of delight in the full performance of the daimyo board and the intro of the famous songs are screaming, but that is strangely far away. Even though the performance sound is very close, you can enjoy the show in a bird’s-eye view. (It’s just a guess) This is probably due to the recording position. This work is recorded in “Section 101, 5th row”, and although this “Section 101” is an arena, it is right next to the stage. Since it is near the front (fifth row), it has a three-dimensional effect that makes you look at the seaweed of the entire venue with a feeling that is very similar to the stage. I had the impression that the seats right next to the stage were “bad seats” because it was hard to see at the scene, but recording would improve the balance so much. It’s a surprising blind spot, and it’s also a recording that reminds us of the depth of audience culture.
The full show centered on the complete performance of the daimyo board “Hotel California” is drawn with such a unique sound. It is slightly different from the first report “MADISON SQUARE GARDEN 2021”, so let’s sort it out again here.

* Note: The “★” mark is a song that cannot be heard on the official version “LIVE FROM THE FORUM MMXVIII”.

…… And it looks like this. The show consists of two parts, “Part 1 = Hotel California All Songs” + “Part 2 = Greatest Hits”. In this work, the significance of the show is also emphasized, and the live performance version of Hotel California is arranged in DISC 1 and the rest are arranged in DISC 2-3. The concept is the same as “MADISON SQUARE GARDEN 2021”, but 2022 is the result of trial and error or a minor change. “Love Will Keep Us Alive,” “Walk Away,” and “The Long Run” have been removed from the second part, making it a tighter and richer show.
If you think about it, it is a terrible story to want a 24-year-old young man to have a career that only copies his father. Deacon’s departure may have been inevitable. Anyway, Eagles has entered a new chapter again. This work is a 3-disc set that allows you to fully experience such a cutting-edge show. Please enjoy it to your heart’s content.

Hotel California/New Kid in Town/Life in the Fast Lane/Wasted Time(★)/Wasted Time (Reprise)(★)/Victim of Love(★)/Pretty Maids All in a Row(★)/Try and Love Again(★)/The Last Resort(★)

Take It Easy/Witchy Woman(★)/Peaceful Easy Feeling
Tequila Sunrise/Desperado
Already Gone/Best Of My Love(★)
One Of These Nights/Take It To The Limit/Lyin’ Eyes
In The City/I Can’t Tell You Why/Those Shoes/Heartache Tonight
Funk #49/Rocky Mountain Way/Life’s Been Good
Seven Bridges Road/The Boys of Summer
※注:「★」印は公式盤『LIVE FROM THE FORUM MMXVIII』で聴けない曲。

第二部から「Love Will Keep Us Alive」「Walk Away」「The Long Run」が削られ、よりタイトで濃厚なショウ運びになっているのです。
