A collection of the finest video collections of professional shots that appeared on TV in 1981.
This work contains 7 types and 16 songs of professional shot live (+ α). There are a variety of videos from rare to familiar ones, but they are recorded with the finest masters selected by overseas enthusiasts. These 9 types can also be roughly classified into 4 types. Let’s introduce each one individually.
Most of them are mimes, but you can witness a stylish performance that embodies New Romantic with the best professional shots. Among them, the live performance “OLD GRAY WHISTLE TEST” appeared two days before the main press 2CD, and is a masterpiece shot that gives a glimpse of the “other side” of the finest live album. [September 11, 1981 “MANDAGSBORSEN” (4 songs)] Up to this point, it was a one-shot appearance, but the following is a stage live video of 4 songs. The first is the Swedish TV program “MANDAGSBORSEN”, which corresponds to the “Europe # 1” period in the main story. This is already super fine. This work is a collection of masterpiece masters selected by enthusiasts, but even so, the Aircheck master is the main. On the other hand, these four songs are thought to have been digitized by the Omoto Master, are super beautiful even by modern digital standards, and are by far the highest quality images in this work.
And I’m glad that it’s a live performance even though it’s 4 songs. The show is held on a special stage set up in the hotel casino, so unlike regular concerts, the audience sits around the table and the reaction is quiet. However, the performance and singing voice in front of the audience are vivid, and the intensely radiating feeling of “being there” can never be experienced with Mime. [November 30, 1981 “OFF THE RECORD” (6 songs)] The last pro shot is a genuine concert pro shot. “OFF THE RECORD” which broadcasted the Chichester performance, which corresponds to “Europe # 2” in the main story. In terms of image quality, the quality is like dubbing the official video once, and although it is not as good as “MANDAGSBORSEN”, it is beautiful enough.
Unlike “MANDAGSBORSEN”, which was a part of the casino, the performance of moving around on a wide stage is the original brilliance itself. Although the audience is still sitting, the enthusiasm and enthusiasm are definitely real fans, and the enthusiasm is wonderful because they are witnessing such an audience. From around the single B-side song “Faster Than Light”, he started to stand up and also performed “My Own Way” to be recorded in the next work. You can witness the original show with the volume of 6 songs, which is the largest in this work.

1981年当時のテレビ出演プロショットを集成した極上映像集。
そんな本作に収められているのは７種・16曲分のプロショット・ライヴ（＋α）。レア物からお馴染みの映像まで多彩ですが、海外マニアが選び抜いた極上マスターで収録されています。この９種も大きく４つに分類できる。それぞれ個別にご紹介していきましょう。
【個別出演のTVプロショット（５種・６曲）】
最初に登場するのは曲単位の短いテレビ出演。英国の名物番組“TOP OF THE POPS”・“OLD GREY WHISTLE TEST”・“GET SET FOR SUMMER”の映像を集めたもので、アルバム発売前の1981年３月から「英国#2」が終了した1981年８月までの出演です。“TOP OF THE POPS”にはシングルが発売されるたびに出演しており、３月・５月・８月の３回分が収録されています。
ほとんどはマイムだったりしますが、ニューロマンティックを体現したスタイリッシュなパフォーマンスを極上プロショットで目撃できる。中でも生演奏の“OLD GREY WHISTLE TEST”は本編プレス２CDの２日前の出演であり、極上ライヴアルバムの“向こう側”を垣間見押せてくれる傑作ショッットです。
【1981年９月11日“MANDAGSBORSEN”（４曲）】
ここまでは単発の出演でしたが、続くは４曲のステージ・ライヴ映像。まずは本編解説の「欧州#1」時期にあたるスウェーデンのテレビ番組“MANDAGSBORSEN”です。これがもう、超極上。本作はマニアが選んだ傑作マスター揃いではありますが、そうは言ってもエアチェック・マスターがメイン。それに対し、この４曲は大元マスターからデジタル化されていると思われ、現代デジタル基準でも超美麗であり、本作でも群を抜くハイクオリティ映像です。
そして、４曲とは言え生演奏なのも嬉しい。この番組はホテルのカジノに設営された特別ステージで行われるため、通常のコンサートと違って観客はテーブルを囲んで座り、反応も大人しい。しかし、観客を前にした演奏も歌声も生々しく、強烈に発散される「そこにいる」感はマイムでは決して味わえません。
【1981年11月30日“OFF THE RECORD”（６曲）】
最後のプロショットこそ、正真正銘のコンサート・プロショット。本編解説の「欧州#2」にあたるチチェスター公演を放送した“OFF THE RECORD”です。画質的には公式ビデオを１回ダビングしたようなクオリティで、“MANDAGSBORSEN”には及ばないものの十分に美麗です。
カジノの一角だった“MANDAGSBORSEN”とは違い、広いステージを動き回るパフォーマンスは本来の輝きそのもの。やはり観客は座っているものの、ノリや熱狂は間違いなく本物のファンであり、そんな観客を目の当たりにしているからこその熱演は素晴らしい。シングルＢ面曲の「Faster Than Light」辺りから総立ちになり、次作に収録される「My Own Way」も披露。本作最大の６曲というボリュームで本来のショウを目撃できます。
そんな７種のライヴ映像の後には、さらに貴重映像。レアなインタビュー映像を２種ボーナス収録しています。当時は平均年齢20.8歳だった彼らが初々しくも真摯に語る姿を楽しめます。
