A soundboard recording of the March 28, 2006 performance in Auckland with the release of the third solo album “Morph The Cat”. It is an official-class superb sound quality with excellent balance that you can rarely taste! (This only solo tour ended in March only, and in the summer there was a joint tour with Michael McDonald as Steely Dan.) The set list is Countermoon “Kamakiriad”, Brite. Nitegown “Morph The Cat”, Steely Dan’s Home At Last, Black Cow “Aja”, Third World Man “Gaucho”, Black Friday “Katy Lied”, Pretzel Logic “Pretzel Logic” I don’t know if it’s easy to perform live or if it’s popular, but it’s composed of the songs “Nightfly” Green Flower Street, The Nightfly, New Frontier, Maxine, The Goodbye Look. (As a performance unique to the tour, it is also a point that jazz trombone player Jack Teagarden’s Misery And The Blues and Chuck Berry’s cover Viva Viva Rock And Roll are recorded.) This item is nice. , Black Friday “Katy Lied” and Maxine “Nightfly” that were not played in the already released “AT MASSAY HALL 2006 (Toronto 13th March)”, “PLAYFUL MOOD (Westbury, New York 3rd March)” are being played. Donald Fagen’s live performance. It is a tour accompanying the release of the solo album “Morph the Cat” in March 2006, and surprisingly it is the first tour under the name of Fagen. You didn’t tour at “New York Rock & Soul Review”. The members will listen to the solid performance as usual, just like Steely Dan’s tour. Suddenly, the curtain opens with a good song that is only included in Steely Dan’s best compilation album, and after that, the song from “Nightfly” is released, which is a composition unique to Fagen alone. 3枚目のソロ・アルバム「Morph The Cat」リリースにともなう、2006年3月28日オークランド公演を、サウンドボード録音で収録。めったに味わうことのできない、バランス抜群のオフィシャル級の超極上の音質です！（この唯一のソロ・ツアーは3月のみで終了しており、夏にスティーリー・ダンとして、マイケル・マクドナルドとのジョイント・ツアーが行われました。）セット・リストは、Countermoon「Kamakiriad」、Brite Nitegown「Morph The Cat」、スティーリー・ダンのHome At Last、Black Cow「Aja」、Third World Man「Gaucho」、Black Friday「Katy Lied」、Pretzel Logic「Pretzel Logic」とかなりバラエティーに富んでいますが、ライヴで演りやすいのか、それとも人気があるのかわかりませんが、「Nightfly」の楽曲Green Flower Street、The Nightfly、New Frontier、Maxine、The Goodbye Look、中心で構成された形になっています。（ツアーならではの演目として 、ジャズ・トロンボーン奏者ジャック・ティーガーデンのMisery And The Blues、チャック・ベリーのカヴァーViva Viva Rock And Rollが収録されているのもポイントです。）今回のアイテムは嬉しい事に、既発「AT MASSAY HALL 2006(Toronto 13th March)」 、「 PLAYFUL MOOD(Westbury, New York 3rd March )」で演奏されなかったBlack Friday「Katy Lied」、Maxine「Nightfly」　が演奏されており、なんといっても、ツアーで初のMaxineを取り入れており、この美しい佳曲をライヴ・アレンジで聴けることは非常に貴重で、これだけでも、本アイテムの価値は充分にあります。クレジット的にもスティーリー・ダンと重複してはいますが、4管編成が、フェイゲン・バンドでは２管にシェイプされていたり、ギターが、ウォルター・ベッカーの代わりにウェイン・クランツが参加していたりとソロ・バンドならではのサウンドの違いも楽しめるものになっています。演奏の素晴らしさは今さら言うまでもありませんが、この日はウェイン・クランツと、ジョン・ヘリントンのツイン・ギターが特に際立っており、同じタイム感で繰り広げられるアドリブのコントラスト（頭の音符を抜くジョン・スコっぽいしなやかなフレーズの組み立て方が絶妙）が抜群の空気感を放っており、見事なまでにシンクロした二人のプレイの数々は聴き応え十分です！（Maxineでのスタジオ・テイクでのブレッカーの歴史的名ソロに勝るとも劣らないスケール・アウトを多様したウォルト・エイスコーフ のフレキシブルなソロも間違いなく必聴です！）まさに、音質、演奏内容、レア度、全てが揃ったドナルド・フェイゲン・バンド究極のアイテムが海外より入荷です。

ドナルド・フェイゲンのライブ物。2006年3月のソロ・アルバム『モーフ・ザ・キャット』発表に伴うツアーで、意外なことにツアーとしてはフェイゲン名義では初となる。「ニューヨーク・ロック＆ソウル・レビュー」ではツアーはやらなかったのね。メンバーはスティーリー・ダンのツアーと変わらず、いつも通りに手堅い演奏を聴かせてくれる。いきなりスティーリー・ダンのベスト盤にしか入っていない佳曲で幕を開け、その後は『ナイトフライ』からの曲を繰り出してくるのがフェイゲン単独ならではの構成。まあスティーリー・ダンのツアーではソロの曲は滅多にやらないし、「いつものレパートリー」に飽きた向きにはお得感がある。さすがに新曲もやらねばツアーの意味もあるまいと、後半Brite Nitegownを一曲だけ披露。比較的ノリのいい曲を選んだというところか。その後はお約束のセッション気分で盛り上げ大会となり、ビバビバで締めという演出。うむ、これぞフェイゲン。
