先日リリースされたDIOの公式ライヴ「DIO AT DONINGTON」も素晴らしい内容でしたが、このステージと会場の一体感、まるでロニーが自分のすぐ近くにいるかのようなサウンドの質感や生々しい臨場感は、高品位オーディエンス録音だからこそ楽しめる醍醐味です。「Stand Up And Shout」後半で炸裂するパイロの轟音を耳にすれば、誰もがそれを理解するでしょう！ロニーの歌をじっくりと聴き込ませる「One Night In The City」、ヴィヴィアン キャンベルのマシンガンギターが本領を発揮する「Don’t Talk To Strangers」と、ライヴは前半から息もつかせぬ展開です。さらにはこの時期ならではの「Mystery」のポップなテイスト、それと対照的にヘヴィで重厚な「Egypt」など、切り口は違っても全て一本芯が通ったメロディアスな曲がずらりとひしめき、ロニーの変幻自在のストーリーテラーぶりには思わず脱帽させられます。そしてこの「Egypt」から、DIOお得意の大長編メドレーが幕を開けます。同曲のコーダからヴィニー・アピスのアタックで「Holy Diver」がスタートする瞬間は鳥肌モノです！さらに彼のドラムソロを挟んで「Heaven And Hell」が「The Last In Line」やヴィヴィアンのギターソロと有機的に結合した一大叙事詩が繰り出され、会場の興奮は頂点を極めます。「Heaven And Hell」ラストを用いたメドレーの締めくくりではオーディエンスが完全に圧倒されているのが良く判ります。この感動と興奮は26年を経た現在でも全ての聴き手をノックアウトする事でしょう。（なお「The Last In Line」冒頭にテープチェンジと見られるカットがありますが、演奏を聴く上で大きな欠落にはなっていません。）

キャッチーでありながらヘヴィであり、またメロディアスという、DIOの長所を凝縮したような「Rainbow In The Dark」に続けて、ショウの最後を飾るRAINBOWナンバーの「Man On The Silver Mountain」と「Long Live Rock’N’Roll」の組み合わせはイギリスのファンからも大きな支持を得ており、途中で一瞬だけ差し込まれる「Starstruck」で会場を大いに煽るお約束も楽しいです。（曲中の「偉大なプレイヤー、トミー・ボーリンに捧げる」というMCも聴き逃せません。）「Long Live Rock ‘N’ Roll」中間で交わされるロニーとヴィヴィアンの掛け合いからは、優れたミュージシャンの組み合わせのみが放つマジックを感じる事でしょう。アンコールはバンド・会場がひとつになった「We Rock」で、会場が揺れ動くような盛り上がりのうちに感動のライヴを締めくくります。

本作は傑作の誉れ高い「HEAVY LINE」（Shades）と比較しても遜色はないハイクオリティ音源です。本作を聴かずしてDIOの’84年ツアーは語れないでしょう。このショウで聴けるロニーのヴォーカルの素晴らしさは、一体何と表現したら良いのか見当もつかないくらいです！CDの容量ギリギリに迫る約80分にわたって、絶頂期DIOの最も熱かったライヴをどうぞたっぷりとお楽しみください。これこそ最強を誇った’84年DIOの真骨頂！前回、入手出来なかった方は、是非、この機会をお見逃し無く！！

1984年-9月から10月にかけて行なわれたアルバム『LAST IN LINE』のプロモーションにともなうイギリス・ツアーから、10月2日-レスターでのステージを良好な音質のオーディエンス録音で収録した20セット限定のCD-R。イギリス・ツアー終盤のステージで、10月4日から3日連続のロンドン-ハマースミス千秋楽公演を控えて、ロニーを中心にバンドは絶好調と言っても良く、オープニングの「Stand Up And Shout」から最高のステージを展開してくれる。セット・リストは、このイギリス・ツアーのレギュラー・セットながら、その分、ツアーを経て完璧とも言うべきパフォーマンスで観客を魅了しているのがわかる。特に終盤の「Rainbow In The Dark」からは怒涛の展開で、続く、RAINBOWの「Man On The Silver Mountain」でのヴィヴィアン・キャンベルのフラッシーなギター・プレイは上り調子にあるバンドを体現しているかのようで素晴らしいし、中間部でロニーが「トミー・ボーリンに捧ぐ」的なことを言うと観客の歓声が上がる。ラストはロニーのタイトル・コールから名曲「We Rock」がプレイされるが、このセット・リストとバンドのプレイを聴いていると、この頃のDIOこそが、ベストと言っても過言ではないだろう。
